The coffee was pretty decent and a good portion but the food was just okay. Our recomendation for this place was for the coffee so we probably shouldnt have gotten food anyway but if you are just going for coffee its a decent spot. The breakfast sandwhich we got seemed fresh but bland. It definitly needed hot sauce or something but that would have made it pretty decent. The coffee itsef was larger than I was expecting and seemed pretty creamy which was nice. A decent spot if your in the area for a drink but I would skip it for food. read more

We had a lovely breakfast along with artisan coffee at Brulerie Urbaine. I had a coissant egg sandwich, while others had the omelette and egg breakfast plates - all very well done. Went there for breakfast with my dad last week and did enjoy the experience eating there . Food was really good and staff super friendly I got me a dark chocolate crepes with vanilla Ice cream and a coconut milkshake . portion in my opinion were pretty small as after my breakfast I had to order 2 butter croissants and a tiramisu to be sure that my tummy was filled up. Also my coconut milkshake was pretty unic but not necessairly on a good way. So basically I did enjoy my experience overthere and it was good and since it's near my home I'd return but now I know what to expect . read more

Came for a brunch study session on a cold Thursday with my cousin. They have a special 7$ breakfast menu before 10:30am! We both got the plate with 2 eggs, choice of meat, bread, fruits, and breakfast potatoes. Despite the food being standard as other places, I really liked it. The eggs, potatoes, and bacon were my standouts. We also were allowed some coffee with the deal, I wish I had been able to substitute it with milk or hot chocolate but it's only tea/coffee. They don't refill the coffee even if you stay a long time, so keep in mind if you were planning on staying all day. We were there for about 3 hours. I love the decor here, it felt very train station in France (from a movie). I'd definitely come back, I want to try all their other options. read more

the owner looks very nice at first, but as an employee who worked there for about a week, I can tell you I've had a different experience. I chose another job and now he refuses to pay me. I've written 3 emails and even called him. I never got a response and on the phone he was screaming and swearing telling me that he's paid me. funny because he will not provide me with the information of that said pay and I don't have all the money that's I'm due. Cute spot on Côte-des-Neiges for breakfast or coffee. I came here on a weekday with a friend for a work meeting. The vibe here is relaxed and not too loud. They have a pretty big breakfast menu and some discounts for eating early. I got a basic breakfast and it was actually pretty good. Better than average. A bit greasy but exactly what I needed. The waitress was nice and I found the atmosphere was both fun and calm. I would come here to study or to meet a friend, both could work. read more

Pretty place to meet up with people to study. I ordered a chai latte and the drink tasted amazing. It was the best chai latte that I had in Montreal. The spice and the milk were creamy like it melt on my mouth. I also ordered a salad with salmon. However, I had a hard time eating the salmon, I kinda wish they cut it for me instead of I do it myself. Awesome place to have quality drinks nonetheless. This place was previously a Brulerie St-Denis with amazing coffee, but since they changed to Brulerie Urbaine the quality went downhill. I got a cocoa hollandais with l'ecureuil (a pastry), I was not impressed by them. The hot coco tasted like it was made with supermarket's coco powder, it was too heavy and I felt nauseous after finishing it. The pastry was smaller than my palm, and costed $7. Honestly I can get a pack of 5 for $10 in a nearby grocery store. What really thrown me off was that the waitress never cleaned the table when we sat down. It had sauce and crumbles all over it. We waited 10 min and ended up cleaning the table ourselves. The waitress brought the bill when we were only half way through, it felt like she was rushing us. Bad experience. read more

The service is really bad, which is a shame because they have such a big variety of coffees, but the place is definitely not for coffee lovers. Everyone is in such a rush that you feel like you have to leave immediately after you eat, and apparently the whole variety of coffees is only to go, they don't have a menu for the people who sits there which I don't understand. The prices for the coffee are nowhere to be seen, if you want to add a croissant you have to wait until they bring you the ticket to see how much does it cost... Such a shame. read more

whoever owns this place spent a ton of money on the decor. Yet they really don't seem to care how the place is run. There was a ton of foot traffic on the street. Inside, there were only two customers in this gigantic coffee shop. At the entrance there is a guy at a counter texting. Not sure what his job is. In the middle of the room is a counter that says "emporter." I don't know why you have to walk 25 feet to get a coffee to go. Eventually the guy texting tell us to sit down to be served. I have been there several times with my girlfriend and my family. The crepes are one of the best in Montreal. The coffees such as the macchiato or the espresso are pretty good but I felt like it was not grind completely. The New York burger was surprisingly good (not very greasy and a very balanced burger. However, the taters are quite salty and the fries are a bit oily. The coleslaw had very little taste. The desserts were ok such as the cheesecake. The service is very good despite one or two waitresses who were not client friendly. It is definetly a restaurant that I would recommend for brunch. read more

While visiting Montréal, tried the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and the Florentine Eggs Benedict. The Florentine was fantastic and the home fries were absolutely delicious. The blue mountain coffee was fresh and smooth but I was expecting a bit more considering the price and hype. Overall still a fabulous experience and I would definitely come back again. This cafe is now called Bistro Urbaine and it's even worse than the former Brulerie St-Denis! The morbidly obese manager gave me a wet glass with my beer, which may have been improperly cleaned. I never wanted to set foot in there but we were with a little kid and there's not much else open after 9pm. St-Hubert would have been a better option. The food is very basic and not creative or good - the poutine fries were old, burnt and horrible. What keeps this place going is the coffee and other hot beverages, which are often served at room temperature - happened to me with a hot chocolate. Avoid this place and CDN cafes in general! read more
