Finding a mechanic when moving to a new town it always difficult. Who can you trust? You listen to friends, you read reviews, take a deep breath and jump on in. We've been to Brum's a few times for oil changes and minor repairs and we're glad we did. We have found Brum's to be reliable, honest, timely, and reasonable. They have not tried to up sell anything, but at the same time informed me when (for example) I needed new rear tires. He asked where I had the front done and agreed they did good work. I've taken my vehicle here twice, both times the shop was communicative, upfront and reasonably priced. Many months later, I received a letter from BMW that a particular component was now under warranty, which was the first service that Brums had repaired. Sean from Brums was so patient, and helped with multiple requests from BMW to have the repair retroactively covered. Brought my X3 in for service which can be hard to find a place that will work on my car and has the right computer to run the tests but Brum's took it faster than my dealership would have and got it back to me the same day! If you're looking for a mechanic who's good at troubleshooting and solving challenging, mechanical problems, you'll find it at Brum's. The brakes on my Mazda 3 were making a clicking sound that a few different mechanics, including the dealership, couldn't fix, but Matt at Brum's did. It turns out the pads had been installed incorrectly by the dealership. Ever since then, I've been taking my cars to Brum's for regular service and repairs. Another example where Matt's troubleshooting skills were much appreciated was when I had an intermittent problem with the AC in my car. I appreciated the fact that he didn't simply replace the entire AC system, compressor, etc. Again, Matt found and fixed the actual problem. No one wants to spend money having their car repaired. But since we must on occasion, it's nice to know the place you take it to, won't take YOU to the cleaners. I first saw Brum's when I noticed their marquee advertising that they worked on Mini Coopers. Since mine needed work, (and knowing they are not straight-forward cars to work on, and that dealer service is crazy expensive),I decided to try them. Their reviews seemed good and pricing reasonable. And that has been the case with Brum's. They work on your car the day they schedule your appointment. They call you promptly and tell you what's wrong. If it's more than you had bargained for, they tell you honestly what really needs fixing, and what can wait. I had them check out my entire car for problems. They had to fabricate my entire back brake line system with copper/nickel line (it was ready to let go completely), install it as well as a complete tune up and a TON of replacement parts & other things and they did it for $1000. My car runs well after their repairs. I just feel that they don't gouge their customers. Plus, they know what they're doing. I'll be a regular there for sure. They are honest and fast. read more

Suggestions for future work was discussed in a practical manner with no up selling. The $75 inspection fee is well worth it especially with an older car that hasn't seen much maintenance work. Brought my truck in here with some leaking fluids and some play in the wheel that a previous mechanic was unable to repair. . The guys here did a great job... They fixed the steering problem and found 3 areas where I was leaking. . Truck runs and drives great now! The price was extremely fair, especially when you consider the fella who owns it has a mechanical engineering degree. .. I am sure traditionally the hourly rate of mechanical engineer is astronomical! Brums labor rate is way cheaper then the dealership it was also cheaper then the previous mechanic I went to who couldn't fix my steering!
