We ran into this brunch spot right by our hotel and were pleasantly surprised! The inside was so cute and the menu had so many options. All the food was presented beautifully and we loved how the straws had the name of the cafe on them. For drinks, we had the mango matcha, chai, and orange juice. My mango matcha wasn't bad and my friend loved her chai. For food, we had the avocado benny, bagel sandwich, and some other type of sandwich. Both of my friends aren't fans of avocado and the staff was flexible enough to include it on the side. My avocado benny wasn't on a typical english muffin, but it was still good. We learned that Brunch & Cake is a chain, but definitely worth a visit if looking for lunch!
Note; I went to the Laietana location but they don't have a Yelp page. The atmosphere was beautiful. Everything I ate and drank was delicious and our server Nicolas was amazing. He was attentive and also very chill. I got the shashuka which came in a bread bow that was perfectly golden with just the right amount of crisp. I also got the cava and the Chandon garden. The Chandon garden is good for people who like an aperol spritz, but the herbal flavor is not as strong. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back, hopefully before my trip to Spain ends.
This was hands down the best avocado toast I've ever had! I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs, served on black corn gluten-free waffles. Such a unique and delicious twist for gluten free bread. What really stood out was the presentation. I've never seen avocado styled like a flower before. It was too beautiful to eat, but I'm glad I did. Everything was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The vibe at Brunch & Cake is just as good as the food. It's cozy, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed morning in Barcelona. I highly recommend it if you're a brunch lover and you are looking for something healthy.
This place is super cute and cozy, while there's a decent amount of seating it is a bit tight and it gets really busy so be prepared. The outside also has nice seating just watch out for birds trying to nag you for food lol. The service is excellent, the staff is really attentive and friendly, the service itself speedy as well! The coffee is superb and the food here is delicious and definitely not going to disappoint, just bear in mind the service sizes are huge but you'll love the flavors!
This was our first stop after dropping our luggage at our apartment for the week. It was literally around the corner and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing the staff was so friendly and sat us right away at the window bar with a view of the square. Everything we ordered was amazing and the iced Spanish latte might be the best coffee I've ever had!! We will definitely be back!
I visited Brunch & Cake years ago on a recommendation from a friend and I still recommend it to everyone I know who is visiting Barcelona. The food is so fresh and delicious. The interior is light and bright and great for photos. This is the perfect brunch spot. The sandwiches are a great size and I loved the syringe of guac - so unique! The smoothies are so fresh and hit the spot perfectly! There are so many great choices on the menu, I really don't think that you can go wrong with anything! They do fun twists on classics, which really elevates the experience! Cannot recommend enough.
Coffee I got a flat white. Very good. Breakfast I got the pancakes. The smoked lemon. Are so good. Service was a little slow but they were friendly. Not known for being fast. Everyone takes there time. Much like living in Hawaii on aloha time. But worth the stop. I wandered in one morning looking for a quick bite. But this place is a much better slow and enjoy sit down. The ambiance was casual and easy.
Our first full day breakfast stop in Barca. Wow. Indoor and outdoor umbrella seating in an active but quiet new center court. A second of two locations in Barca. Just a walk wonderful place for breakfast. Bright, friendly and pleasantl atmosphere. The dishes are just packed with flavor and the presentations make you want to order more just to see them. GF, not a problem here. We could have come here every day if it not for our yearning to explore as many different spots as possible. ENJOY
Ordered: Iced Matcha Latte with Oatmilk (~€6) Bagel (~€12): homemade seed bagel filled with scrambled eggs and mashed avocado, topped with sesame avocado, topped with pink hummus, pickled onions, radishes, and seeds Avocado Bennis (~€12): English muffin with avocado flowers and poached eggs drizzled with a light hollandaise sauce French Toast (~€14): homemade brioche dipped in their signature French toast milk, blueberry jam, fresh berries, banana and caramelized walnuts Aya's take: Aesthetically Brunch & Cake wins; I love the soft colors, brightness, and peaceful ambiance throughout. When it comes to the food, it was a big miss. This came highly recommended by my sister who loved it last time she tried it but nothing we got was anything more than average. The Bagel was the best of the 3 items. The scrambled eggs and avocado were great and the homemade bagel was soft and fresh. It was slightly too big and thick for the portion of eggs they gave. The pink hummus, pickled onions, and radishes felt completely out of place here. The Avocado Bennis was pretty disappointed and the crumbled tortilla chips on top felt unnecessary. The hollandaise sauce was also thicker than any I've had. The French Toast was beautiful, the fruits were fresh, but it generally lacked that syrupy sweetness you expect with a French Toast. Even the Iced Matcha Latte didn't feel like was made with real matcha. It was blended and just felt like a lot of empty calories to me. I really wanted to like it and maybe it was just an off day, but this missed the mark for me.
This is a good breakfast spot. The peach pancakes come with so much stuff, it's almost like a DIY birthday cake! I ordered it with a side of bacon, which was so good I had to order another second helping of bacon. I sat outside which was nice to get the breezy air. Too bad I didn't get pics of the interior since it looked so nice.
Everything is very aesthetically pleasing from food, to the drinks, to the interior of the restaurant. The food is good, but the focus is definitely on instagramability (which it excels at). The espresso martini was fantastic. So was the New York Cheesecake Pancake. The açaí bowl was good, but wouldn't be a recommendation I would make. Beware of a 10% terrace charge if you're sitting outside (they advertise it on their menu so it's not a surprise when the bill comes). Service was amazing. We had a young gentleman helping us out and he was very great. We arrived at a good time because right after we sat a huge line appeared.

I had the eggs benedict and my wife had the banana chocolate french toast. My eggs were poached perfectly and hollandaise sauce was yummy! The french toast was light. The chocolate sauce wasn't too sweet. The adding of grapes and kiwi to the dish was a stroke of genius. You must eat here if in the area! read more
What a bummer! I was really looking forward to this place because all of the awesome reviews. As soon as we were walking towards brunch and cake we saw a crowd outside waiting to be seated. They don't take reservations so obviously I thought people were waiting because it was that good. For two people the wait was 30 minutes. There was a constant stream of people waiting. Even when we were seated, eating, and after we left. We ordered two smoothies to breakfast plates and one sweets plate. 1- berry smoothie (tart, fresh, delicious) 2- multi vitamin smoothie (less tart than berry, creamier, and also delicious) 3- egg Benedict with turkey on top of a organic hot dog (AMAZING. Holy moly didn't know eggs Benedict could taste this good) 4- potato scrambled eggs with Iberian ham on toast ( they had potato chips mixed into scrambled eggs!! Was amazing but very salty. And the Iberian ham (cured meat) obviously uber salty-- I couldn't finish it because of the salt levels) 5- pancake with Nutella and banana (typical silver dollars, nothing crazy) Total was 30 something euros not bad at all. Food came out pretty fast! Esp shocking because they claim everything is made to order. Would I come again? No. Just because it's just too salty for me. Nothing was crazy good. Only the eggs Benedict. Plus there are so manyyyyyyy brunch spots and tapas places in Barcelona I would want to try them all before going somewhere twice !! read more
The menus are in English! & español. Brunch & Cake is a very cute brunch restaurant in downtown Barcelona. They have healthy options and they also have many high calorie indulgences like the coconut bread (which is amazing). I ordered the quinoa salad because the acai bowl wasn't available and it was mas o menos. I didn't finish half of it. I also ordered the Colombia smoothie that has papaya, mango, and passion fruit and that was so, SO good. Mom ordered the eggs benedict with turkey on a waffle and she said it was the best she's had. The place is cute and the juices were amazing, the dishes looked very colorful and unique, but the breads to the dishes were really cake! Waaaay too sweet for a Benedict. Maybe serve cake on the side or a different item to order. The waffle also was literally a brownie, super heavy. read more

Barcelona is not a city known for brunch that is much more common in the states. Most mornings on my travels I had a light breakfast of a pastry and coffee, which made Brunch & Cakes more traditional while still having an eclectic element you would expect out of Barcelona dining a very pleasant surprise. This place is small and also very popular so you can expect to wait for a table during peek hours. The decor of Brunch & Cake reminded me of a 20-something year old's hipster kitchen, the look totally works and is cute. The food was the real highlight though, here is what I tried: Cappuccino - A beautifully presented and delicious tasting coffee Fresh OJ - Fairly common in Spain but I'm not used to this great tasting freshly squeezed OJ Cheddar Bacon Waffles (Nuestro Gofre con Cebolla Caramelizada) - Liege Waffle topped with what looks to be a half pound of perfectly crisp bacon, sweet corn, caramelized onions, and a truffled syrup. read more

Delicious, amazing and friendly staff and delicious food. Everything is fresh and full of flavor. Seats outside and indoors, and average (possibly above) sized portions. Definitely would recommend, be prepared to wait about 15-20 minutes for your hot food. Smoothies there are truly fruity! read more

Don't let the large crowd of locals intimidate you. The staff were all very nice. It's worth the wait (25min for 2 on Sunday at 12pm). If you're lucky like we were, you'll get the comfy sofa seating. Although it's not ideal for eating, it's great for sipping cafe con leche or vanilla lattes. Went for brunch and cake for Easter brunch and it was fantastic. I've heard great things from other friends who have visited Barcelona and had to try it for myself. We were told the wait would be 25 minutes but it was only about 13 minutes. The restaurant is small but have a decent amount of seats outside. The wait staff was very polite and spoke English well. I shared the French toast with Nutella and it was fantastic. Wasn't like a typical American French toast it was sort of the texture of cake rather than bread but still super delicious. I also had the scrambled eggs with feta and turkey on a bagel. Couldn't really taste the feta but over all was really good. The presentation was great, a rustic chic look. If your in the neighborhood and have time I would highly recommend stopping in. read more

Hands down the best breakfast I've had in Barcelona at Brunch & Cake. Small restaurant, but big portions of yummy AND healthy food. I especially love the presentation of the food (as pictured) because I found it very impressive because it was so detailed and visually appealing, but it did not take long at all for the food to be prepared and out. They also have amazing cupcakes, cakes, scones, etc. you can buy and eat while you're waiting for your meal. Great location, cute and clean interior. We got in at 10:30 and had to wait around 20 min for a table, which I guess is normal for a brunch place. I noticed the daily specials menu and ordered the big brekkie burrito. This place is a great value, large portions for €8-14 dishes. Also very aesthetic and instagrammable. Definitely recommend if you're into that kind of thing. As for quality of food, everyone seemed to enjoy really fresh ingredients. My burrito was great and well-balanced between the chicken, chorizo, rice and beans. The cantaloupe letters surprisingly went well with the savory favors. All-in-all, a definite must if you've got the chance. Wish I had an opportunity to try the salads or a dessert dish. Brunch and Cake was by far my favorite breakfast/brunch stop on my trip. Everything from the customer service, environment, plating of our dishes and food was perfect. My sister and I loved it so much we even asked if we could buy their uniform shirt for a souviner. Brunch & Cake is an extremely hyped breakfast joint and let me tell you why: I came here on two occasions during my time in Barcelona, but was disappointed both times. The first time, I ordered the acai smoothie bowl, which came out beautifully. It was served in hallowed pineapple, topped with kiwi, granola, strawberries, and slices of apple. It looked absolutely amazing and I couldn't wait to dive it--until I couldn't. The acai was incredibly icy, I felt I needed an ice pick instead of a spoon. I actually spent a good five minutes hacking into the acai ice sculpture before it was of an edible consistency. I was really disappointed because you can't really mess up a smoothie, but Brunch & Cake seemed to aim at proving me wrong. I left the restaurant thinking that perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, and I would give them a second chance another day. That day comes and I ordered the Ricotta Toast, which was described to be toast topped with maple syrup, ricotta, pistachios, and figs. And again, the presentation of the food at this establishment is incredible--simply gorgeous food. But once I took a bite in the toast, it was extremely dry--Grand Canyon dry. I figured the maple syrup would bring out the ricotta and balance the flavors, but I found the texture to be really unpleasant. I left, once again, disappointed. The best part of Brunch & Cake, personally, was the orange juice. It was freshly squeezed and by far the most refreshing drink I've had in a long while; but alas, this place is called Brunch & Cake, not Juice & Cake. Perhaps it was my food choices, but seeing as their menu wasn't that extensive to begin with, all their items should be hits--not just one or two. read more

This place is off the charts!! Everything was so delicious, flavorful and tasted so clean. Thoroughly impressed by the presentations of all dishes and the creativity in the plates. The line is most definitely worth the wait! read more
So... It's about a 3.5 to 4 stars for me. 3.5 stars because: 1) the waiting time can be a bit ridiculous (I guess cause it's popular). We waited about 45mins (willing to do so only because we were also waiting for a friend who was late) & the sitting areas are kind of small and cramped. I'm tiny and I find this place a little too small for my comfort. 2) the service is slow, took us a while to get our order. Also, make sure you order everything you need on the first round. 4 stars because: 1) I'm a sucker for food presentations. I mean, they had my breakfast decorated and served on a shovel, my partner's extra guacamole sauce came in a syringe, and my dessert was served in a garden pot. 2) ordering the food might have taken a while, but the food was served fairly quickly and they got our orders correct. 3) the food is GOOD. Period. 4) the price is decent So overall the above overruled the waiting time and slow service. What we ordered, they're all awesome and highly recommended: 1) Supersandwich - Chicken, nachos, guacamole and chipotle, yogurt/mayo €9.90 2) Eggs Benedict with turkey on waffle €9 3) Epic cheesecake on flowerpot €5.90 read more
Cute little breakfast place in Barcelona. Ordered the iced caramel latte which was amazing... Almost tasted like an iced caramel shake instead of a latte. The breakfast/brunch dish was a chicken, pico de gallo, guacamole "supersandwich." Totally wasn't prepared for what came out... Presentation amazing and even extra guacamole in a syringe! The taste of the sandwich which was a warmed pretzel-type bun with the moist chicken and pico was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to those visiting Barcelona and looking for some flavorful and colorful breakfast/brunch spot! read more

This place is hyped. Everyone talks about it. I went here with a friend who was visiting me. We had to wait 30min to get a table. The personnel at the restaurant were very stressed as well as our waiter. I got the impression that they just wanted the day to be over. Nevertheless, I order chocolate protein pancakes. These were good. Although, the chocolate taste was a bit to much after eating half of it. If I go there again I would try something different. If you decide to go, try to avoid the typical brunch/lunch hours in Spain. read more

Amazing experience! Went around 2 in the afternoon and there was no line. The service was friendly and fast. I got the brunch combo (a salad plus caramelized onion, raspberry, some sort of cheese sandwiches). Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Warning: you probably won't be able to finish the cake by yourself but it was sooo good! Would definitely go again! read more
The food here was excellent as was the ambiance. For food like this in NY or LA with this ambiance and quality it probably would have cost no less than 30 dollars but lucky for us we found this cute spot in Barcelona! The food was excellent and so much for the price of 10 Euros and the chai tea latte was pretty good but not the best I have had. My friend had the fried egg Benedict and she absolutely loved it. This is probably the best brunch I've had, anywhere. The dishes are unique, without being greasy/heavy. The service is very nice. One location was too full so they actually had one of their staff drive us to another location where a table was waiting for us, something I've never seen before. The food is amazing, and looks like it would come from a very fancy restaurant. It's a huge amount of food for the price as well. I will definitely be back if I come to Barcelona again. read more
Literally everything and anything on this menu will blow your mind. A very quaint, hipster restaurant located in a very cute neighborhood only a few blocks away from the main streets. Ordered the ricotta pancake with fresh fruits (including passion fruit and kiwi!) on top, and also caramel popcorn and flower petals. Served with amazing chocolate sauce. The consistency of the pancake was more similar to a bundt cake. Very rich and fluffy, but a light enough flavor to amplify the flavor of the fresh fruit. Ordered a scrambled egg on the side that was also phenomenal. Next time will definitely order one of the bagel or sandwich dishes! Acai bowl was also intriguing! read more
My favorite brunch place in Barcelona! Everything is just so delicious and cute! There's normally a line up so be prepared to wait. Apparently the best time to go is around 7pm (if you're still up for brunch around that time). I had their mango salad with chicken, avocado and greens. And my friend had their eggs Benedict on a shovel! The smoothies in a jar is also delicious as well. I was too full to have their cake after eating but they also look amazing! read more

Like another reviewer stated, this is a tourist trap! Just because it's the "most Instagrammable" does not mean it is good. My friend and I visited for brunch and it was a fail! I ordered the protein salad and it was not fresh and covered in a weird sweet yogurt for dressing. The strawberries were old and soggy, the bread was old and soggy from the avocado mash. If the salad was made fresh, the bread wouldn't have been soggy if it was JUST put in the salad. I barely ate it and then we just left. I also want to note that the waiter stated they do not cook anything at the restaurant. My friend asked if the salmon in a particular dish could be cooked a little longer and the waiter told us nothing is cooked here. So yeah....it's not fresh. read more

Checked this place out because they had good reviews and it was close to our hotel. I am SO happy we went. If course I ordered the Benedict with waffle. It is THE best waffle I've ever had, let alone the first time having eggs Benedict on a waffle. Everything about it was perfect. Egg was cooked to the perfect amount of yolk, the waffle had a crisp and light sugary taste. Great combination. It was so good, we came back the next day so my cousin could order the eggs Benedict but unfortunately for some reason, they didn't have it that morning. Very disappointed. I tried their next popular dish. The turkey and egg sandwich which came with a side of mashed avocado and feta cheese. It was delicious and very big! I'd definetly come back to Barcelona for this place. Hopefully they won't be out of anything. read more
So far, the best food I've had in Barcelona. Heck, maybe even all of my trip during Spain! The seating is very cute, with nice tables outside and inside. The food itself is all massive portions with amazing flavour. The type of food is quite American - we had the fruit pancakes and I had the chicken super sandwich, which is pretty much this massive chicken salad sandwich with mayo, mushrooms, peppers, onions all in bread - AND with salad and potatoes on the side. It tasted phenomenal - definitely reminded me of good old fashioned food back home. I would recommend this place to anyone for a satisfying brunch; I came here for breakfast and was full all the way till dinner (and I have quite a big appetite). We also ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon and mushroom, with an amazing bagel, avocado and spinach sandwich on the side. I didn't enjoy it as much as the super sandwich, but it was still quite tasty. If you are looking for a very fairly priced place for breakfast or lunch, you do NOT want to miss this! read more
This was the BEST MEAL I had in Europe. I was staying in Copenhagen for a week and Barcelona for a week and I was thoroughly impressed with Denmark's breakfasts but HOLY SMOKES was Brunch & Cake the most heavenly thing for my tastebuds. It was a very cute and quaint restaurant with varied seating but they had THE BEST breakfast I've ever eaten in my life. A black waffle topped with smoked salmon and Benedict and sauce with an amazing side salad - this was glorious. I also got a green smoothie which was so perfect and healthy! I'm drooling even thinking about this meal and if there was one thing I'd go back to Barcelona for, it would be this. You will regret not going here! I´ve been here several times since I´ve been in Barcelona. Every time, I´ve gotten something new and I have not been disappointed. I highly recommend any of their egg dishes, and if you love salty and sweet, get their waffles and eggs benedict! Their orange juice is so refreshing, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Most of the time, we receive excellent service. The waiters and waitresses understand we have bad Spanish, so most are good at English. However, we had a case where some friends were late at meeting us, so they went inside the cafe to explain to us first and then grab a seperate table. The hostess immediately snapped at us, which is understandable, because I would be frustrated too. She was also nice enough to let our friends get a table right next to us. ... However, she proceeded to talk bad about us in Spanish to her coworkers, when the friends who were late could speak fluent Spanish and understood everything she was saying. We were close to walking out, but we felt a little bad about the mess we already caused, and we had already waited over thirty minutes for a table. Other than that one bad experience, Brunch & Cafe is a definite must go. read more

This quaint brunch spot is a MUST visit in Barcelona! My friend and I walked from our hostel and the walk itself was beautiful: the cafe is located in a really cute, perfect neighborhood on the outskirts of the main city. We sat outside and enjoyed blueberry pancakes (incredible!) and a breakfast bagel with feta cheese, eggs, and avocado. * I should also note that they had the best coffee I was able to find in Barcelona! read more
Went there for a late brunch on our holiday in Barcelona, chose this place because it was nearby and we were positively surprised. Had an outdoor seating in the sun, the service was kind and quick. The food is organic, homecooked and the portion sizes are reasonable. Had the scrambled eggs with iberian ham and mushrooms with a berry smoothie. UPDATE: had to go there again and it was as good as the first time. Good service, good food, cosy place and the best hot chocolate I've tasted for years and my hubby was crazy about his coffee. This place is amazing! After I discovered it, I went every day for breakfast. It can get packed but I did not have to wait longer than 5 minutes and even then the staff apologized for my wait (like seriously?). The food is delicious, I highly recommend the coconut bread with the pear...one of the best things I ate in my life! But everything there is great, especially their fresh squeezed orange juice. The service is on par with the food. The waiters are all super enthusiastic (but not in an annoying way) and friendly, even to a foreigner with poor Spanish such as myself. They run around like mad because they are so booked but have a huge smile on their face and are never dismissive of you even in the busiest of moments. read more

If theres one thing that brings me joy in life it has to be watching youtube videos. I found this spot while watching a barcelona travel blog. I went once and it was so good we had to come back the next day. The waiters were so nice and the fact that they speak english is a plus.
