We have been to Bruno's several times now. Nice clean traditional Italian bakery. It is family owned and we had the pleasure of being served by the owner's sister Michelle several times. She is always very pleasant and helpful! During our last visit my boyfriend and I split a Turkey provolone sandwich with vinegary banana peppers. Very delicious! We like trying their baked goods as well. Really enjoyed the strawberry and blueberry filled bear claws. Highly recommend! read more

Last St Patrick's Day Bruno's has amazing Irish Soda Bread. I stopped by earlier this week, a notice was on the door stating they were closed due to an outside catering job and would be opened Friday morning at 8:30 (3/17/23). Went by this morning looking forward to purchasing more loaves of their Irish Soda Bread. The Bakery was completely dark same as it was in my previous stop with the same note on the door. Not sure what is going on. Several people had stopped the first day I was there and again today. Such a shame with the amount of business they lost and no note left for customers today. read more

Bruno's is fabulous and I can't recommend them enough. I've order twice from them for the holidays and each time they've gone above and beyond. The staff is always so friendly and go above and beyond. They are looking to move, so I'll follow them to where ever they move to. read more

Great place for breakfest and lunch. Everything is homemade and made fresh that morning! My favorite breakfest sandwich is bacon, egg and cheese on croissant. For lunch you can choose from a variety of boarshead meats or fresh made in house turkey. Desserts are delicious! Homemade cookies like chocolate, short bread, peanut and more. Try the apple turnovers, cream horns and pretzels! Also, the breads are to die for. I really like this place and plan on using them to cater my next event! read more

What a great addition to our neighborhood - this bakery is five stars! The owner is the nicest man - always making delicious baked goods. My kids are addicted to the elephant ears and crumb rolls. He did my daughter's graduation cake and it was the hit of the party - everyone was raving about it. They have a great assortment of sandwiches, kahwa coffee, cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, cream horns - and so many more baked goods. Their fresh bread is out of this world. I went to Bruno's Bakery for lunch and it immediately reminded me of the good Italian bakery/deli's from the northeast. The atmosphere had me feeling pretty nostalgic but that also meant I had high expectations. My expectations were met and exceeded. I had a reuben sandwich and sampled a few of the delicious Italian desserts. Everything was excellent. The marble rye bread on the reuben was swirled perfectly... this place definitely puts their attention to detail. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Just opened! It is located in shopping center where old Walmart was. It is right nextdoor to Dollar Tree. Bakery and sandwiches shop is being run by Raymond Bruno. Old timers will remember his Father's wonderful restaurants. I stopped in yesterday and after sitting and reminiscing with Raymond for 15 minutes, I walked out with boxes and bags of goodies to try. I wasn't disappointed. Bread, muffins, rolls even instore made bagels were marvelous. Great addition to northwest St Petersburg. read more

These folks were very nice, but I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed in this place. They had very few pastries and no bread products (including bagels) at 10am on a weekday. Perhaps they are more of a wholesale bakery, or mostly focus on special orders, but we didn't get to try much because they didn't have much to offer us. Not sure how this place makes much money with no product to sell. read more

I've been waiting for a good bakery to open up near the Jungle Terrace neighborhood and Wala. Went to Bruno's bakery last week and it has everything I desired especially homemade bread in a variety of different kinds and bagels and pastries. It's a new business and still growing. We tried to visit this location today 12/16/2020 at about 3:20 pm. The hours online said it would be open until 5 today, but when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying they would be closing at 3 for the time being. Before we went I noticed that the hours had been updated one week ago, so I assumed that they would be accurate. What a bummer, we drove all the way there just to see it closed. Also the sign did not say "Bruno's Bakery" it said "Croissant Cafe" or something similar, making it confusing and hard to find. Please update your business hours so people don't waste their time coming to visit when you are closed. read more

Found a hair in the cinnamon pretzel! Absolutely disgusting. If we hadn't gotten all the way home first I would have gone back in and demanded a refund. To start with, they were allowing people in without masks, which should have been a sign that they don't care about health safety. Then the woman behind the counter was aloof and unhelpful, so we weren't exactly encouraged to purchase as much as we planned. The "pretzel" was filo dough in the shape of a pretzel, with no discernible cinnamon taste. The hair was the nail in the coffin-never patronizing again, and I hope the health department posts their rating so other people know how unsanitary this place is. read more

Went to Bruno's today for lunch. It was DELICIOUS!!! I had chicken salad on pumpernickel "bucket" bread! Yum! Hubs had a Reuben. It was really good!!! And they make their own pickles that I LOVED! To top it off, they brought us a complimentary sampling of some of their baked goods! The cinnamon bun was soft and fresh! And the Rainbow cookie was moist and so very good!
