    Cafe Mozart German Bakery -
    Diane H.

I'm just going say stop at the Cafe Mozart German Bakery. Your eyes will be delighted by beautiful trays of pastries and desserts. The aroma of baked goods will seal the deal. Eclairs, Napoleons, Mouse, Cheesecake, Tortes, Crescents, and the variety of Strudels will make it difficult to choose just one. Get a box. Do a taste test with your friends and family after dinner. I met the owners, the wife is responsible for the front of house and her husband is the baker. They opened this location in 1997 and I am sure that on return trips to St. Petersburg, I will stop here for sure.

We were looking for a place to eat for lunch near the astronomical clock. A woman from Cafe Mozart invited us in. You wouldn't see it if she wasn't directing people to it. It's upstairs inside the building. I told her I couldn't do stairs bc of my bad knee. No problem, they have a lift. And bonus- their windows on the 2nd floor are directly across from the astronomical clock and you don't need to be in the crowds to watch it. The place was beautifully decorated with elegant china. We got a seat near the window. I had a delicious pumpkin soup and bread. There's a display case of pastries, so I had to have a look and decided on one. My husband had a chocolate cake, which he enjoyed very much. The service was kind of slow but we weren't in a hurry. And we watched the clock go off from out table

I have driven past this place many a time but thanks to several social media post recently. I decided to stop in. It is on the north end of fourth Street in St Pete. Good amount of parking and easy access. They are open today even though it is Monday because it is the week of Christmas and tomorrow, Christmas Eve until 2 PM. They make everything fresh in house and have a huge assortment. They have Christmas stolen, which is very German like a fruit bread, many pastries and danishes; you can even buy an entire strudel. They box everything up very nicely for you and make it easy to just present as a gift. They also have a drive-through. They are extremely friendly and kind. They also have a refrigerator with German sausages. On the countertop they have many types of German jellies. I wish I had looked for mustard, but I forgot, but I will definitely be back. The danishes are the size of a plate. If you have driven by and never stopped like me or wondered what was inside now is the time to go. Let's support local!

Really enjoy their pretzels, croissants, and strudel. If you're not going early, be sure to call before making the trip for something specific. When I stop before I go to work, I pickup their salami croissant sandwich.

There is no seating inside, straightly for take out. The pastries looked good, but the three I got just OK. The German is cakey and dry, may that's the way it should be, but I want "cheese" cake to be creamy.

This German, Austrian and Swiss bakery is one of my favorite locally. Not only is it very authentic, but it is old-school. Their bread and croissants are delicious, their pastries are a delight. I love going there just to speak a little German, explore all the other central European goodies, they have and to pack up and stock up on many other items, such as jam, sausages and pasta. Go check it out, they even have a drive-through.

During our three night stay at The Vinoy, we always saw the café well-stocked with very high quality baked items, sandwiches and meals, macaroons, sherberts, ice cream, and other delectables. The café, as we observed, was always well-staffed with friendly and attentive associates. During our visit, my wife had the sherbet (GF/DF) and I had a couple of macaroons and a cold Venti latte with caramel. All was good.

Alas, Brothers Thomas was an interesting choice and cafe, that I never would've picked if my friend wouldn't have shown it to me. First off, it is in a very specific location and inside a large building. However, the vibes inside you would never be able to tell. I ordered a basic latte and a chicken sandwich. To which were very good but nothing amazing that would bring me back for round 2. Now if I have a very specific type of person who likes coffee and a more light hearted environment or a place to work on things while drinking coffee, this maybe it, otherwise, I am likely going somewhere else.

The cappuccino was very espresso-forward, but the espresso leaned a little sharp and acidic. I think the almond milk paired with that better than whole milk. We got breakfast sandwiches, too, and they were AMAZING. That was my favorite breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. My boyfriend loved the bread, and I loved the caramelized onions with peppers, and the sausage was really good. They were pretty light--we were hungry again within a few hours, so we would maybe see if doubling the sausage is an option next time. Everyone who worked there was really sweet and friendly. The service was great, and the cafe was adorable. Good vibes all the way around, and a great way to get motivated to run errands!
