It is a farmer's type market with some prepared foods, which were top notch. We walked the entire thing and grabbed as much as we could to eat. There are plenty of food places just outside the space that are open later as well. I got some meat sticks from a vendor, sort of farmers market style. There was also another stand that had fruit in a cup with chocolate.Our best deal were some arepas that were half off because it was closing time and they wanted to get rid of them. This isn't the place to take pictures, but rather to immerse yourself in all the goodness that is here.

As one might expect from a market that takes place in a school playground it is pretty small affair. It is exclusively a food market. There are around 12 stalls selling meat, cheese, fish, vegetables and juices. In contrast to other markets there is little food to eat as you walk (pies etc.) so best to visit for staples if you live in the area. There are a good selection of quality items; the juices are particularly good. This farmer's market isn't spectacular but nonetheless sells good stuff and worth visiting if you're a local.

There's a whole street food market in that area that serves all kinds of foods, drinks, and desserts. This was where I had the best mango sticky rice I've had in a long time! The market area is mostly covered by tall ceiling structures, giving a small reprieve if it's raining, but it has an open air feel. What's funny about this market is that you can find local options or favorites from back home. There's a shake shack right in the center of the market, but you can find smaller craft eateries spread around. There are also different places to get a cup of hot mulled wine or hot chocolate and you'll find the long lines for Ben's cookies nearby! If you are coming to Covent Garden via the tube, know that this tube station is a wreck! It's incredibly busy and unless you want to walk up an endless flight of stairs, you'll need to wait and pack in like sardines into the elevator.

In terms of fruit theres top quality and actually taste-containing apples etc as well as more seasonal/exotic things like apricts and strawberries in the summer. I love the fact that you can just wander around at your leisure, and that you can try samples of things such as nice breads, real meats (their bacon and sausages are amazing, compared to the watery mush and beaks sold by some supermarkets) and cheeses and olives. Best of all the prices arent excessive and compare pretty well with supermarket prices for organic stuff. Also the food miles are minimal. Highly recommended.

A while ago I tried some looovely paella. Today I had a gooorgeous sandwich that was basically a mountain of beautifully cooked lamb with sweet chillie sauce, balanced on salad and ciabatta. It was sooo goood!! Next time I really want to try the hog roast with apple sauce. The only bad thing about this market is it is located between SOAS, Birkbeck and ULU...and is around the corner for UCL. So once the University year has started, you have to wait in line for quite a long time for the yummy food! Doh!!

A nice balance between ready to eat foods and groceries/take home products like bread, veg, raw meat, etc. Last time I had some fresh twisty pasta with walnut pesto, parmesan, and radicchio and it was REALLY good. It was like £4 or so, which is a good deal in my book. I'll certainly be back on another sunny day.
