This was Flora's first visit for a lion cut. Jenn came out to greet & meet us. She made sure we were both clear of our needs and expectations. Flora is a nervous kitty so I was worried how everything would go. Jenn assured me she would take great care Flora and she'd be handled with kindness. She said she'd be done in 2-3 hours and I'd be notified. In less than 3 hours I received a text that Flora was ready, including a report card and photo! When I arrived at the salon, the price was less than I've paid at other salons. Plus I'm happier with the attention to detail Flora received -- her "mane" reached farther down her neck (more lion-like), her "boots" were tapered at their tops at the joint. This pet groomer place has been very professional to work with. My Yorkie always looks so cute and clean even tho the groomers don't listen to how short or long your trying to keep your pets hair. This time I came in with notes on how specifically I wanted my baby groomed and he still cut the ears even tho he did them fancy so I can't really hate but still. The prices are very reasonable and everybody loves animals working there so they treat every pet with care. I'm not worried leaving my baby and turnaround is pretty quick so your not apart all day. The place needs an open sign because it's all black front with no signage. Every time I think they are closed. We have two dachshunds (one senior and one puppy). I scheduled an appointment for my senior dog but they accommodated both of my dogs without me asking! (It was my puppy's first grooming.) First off I want to start out my review by saying WE LOVE ALIVIA! She was the best groomer ever and always made our puppy so adorable. It seems like she no longer works there, or is taking time off as there are no bookings available. If she ever starts her own business or goes somewhere else she will have a forever customer!! The reason for my low star review is actually due to the business management. I will take some ownership in that I probably could've communicated better, I was just at work and trying to juggle a lot so I might've come across as abrupt. However, the way the talked to me and treated me I think there's no justification whatsoever. They told me they had to cancel my appointment due to a rabies vaccine that was expired (which it actually didn't expire until the end of the month). I asked if it was okay if we had an appointment scheduled if we could still continue with the groom since we have an appointment for his vaccines in the beginning of September. They told me know and that they wanted to charge me the cancellation fee which is 50% of the cost. I really don't think that's fair since it's not the customer cancelling the appointment. I told them that I wouldn't be paying the fee since I wasn't the one cancelling. They told me that it was my responsibility to make sure my dog is vaccinated (which funny enough he was and nothing was actually expired). I told them that we would no longer be continuing using their services if this was the case and that I would be reporting the charge as fraud. They responded by telling me that they would report me to the police. I just really feel like this is no way to manage a business. Threatening their customers and honestly being scammy with the way they enforce their "cancellation fee". I would be careful spending your money here. I'm really disappointed that I supported their business and was a continuous customer for a year. read more

I absolutely lost it when I saw my handsome boy through the window! He really looked like he shed not only his undercoat, but a few years off his age. He's so fresh and so clean. Peggy was super sweet and told me how sweet my boy was. The fact that she was able to handle a grumpy older dog and bring out his sweet side says wonders. What a great process from beginning to end. I'm visiting SLC, made an appointment online for a nail cut, and showed up at this cute place -- follow the enormous paw prints on the ground. Nicole was great. My old XL dog wasn't going to jump up on the table, and she quickly found another solution. Her attention to detail was impressive. Seriously. She paid attention to the length she was cutting them, avoided damaged nails, and rounded off the edges. Much better than any other groomer I've been to. read more

We are new to the area, and sent our dog, Oakly, here today for a grooming appointment. It's winter now with below freezing temperatures, so we emphasized repeatedly to keep the length of his body fur and only cut his fur on the legs / ears / genital areas for hygiene reasons, but they decided to shaved him completely WITHOUT OUR CONSENT (see the sad before and after picture). They gave us a call 3 hours into the appointment asking if they could cut off a couple spots specifically on the LEGS that were matted (as a result of his hikes), and we said yes. The discussion was specifically around the LEGS and there was NO mention of the need to shave him completely. I just bathed him one week ago myself (as he was playing in the mud with his friend) and took a full hour to combed / blow dry his fur, so i know there are only a handful of areas that were matted. There is absolutely NO need to shave him completely. They shaved him so aggressively that there is pink BARE SKIN being expose in many areas (see picture). One might say, "Don't Worry. It'll grow back!" I sincerely wish that is the case as well. Oakly is a cocker spaniel, so he is double coated. Double coated dogs should never be shaved, even in the summer. Often, the topcoat will not grow back, leaving only undercoat and a scruffy, unkempt appearance. You may then have to shave your dog continuously for the rest of their life." On top of that, they need their fur to protect their skin from UV damage and skin cancer (they don't have any pigmentation on the skin hence its pink). The fur also acts as a temperate insulator in both the winter and summer (similar to our house insulation that helps us stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer). When we realize Oakly has been shaved completely without our consent, we first politely thanked them for their effort, still gave them a 15 dollar tips on top of the grooming fee, but pointed out that this is not what we expected and recommend that they improve their communication in the future to avoid similar situations. Unfortunately, they insist that they were doing the right thing, saying that if we agreed to cutting fur on the legs, it's typical to have fur of the same length throughout, so they just made the executive decision to shave him completely without our consent. No one, including the manager, was willing to admit that they made a mistake. Instead, they just keep on trying to talk over us in a very disrespectful way with no intention to make up for the situation. Unfortunately, the story does not end here, we went home and notice Oakly's nails on his back paws were being cut so short that its completely into the pink area where the blood vessels are. I really don't want to think about what pain he might had to go through. I would recommend that you avoid this place at all cost. We should have realized that its too good to be true to be able to schedule a same day appointment when most places in town have a month of wait. Maybe everyone realize what we just learnt already. read more
