Every other place I've taken my dog to be groomed has kept him for a minimum of three hours-often longer than that. I assumed that was normal and that's what I expected when I dropped my dog off for his 2:00 appointment. So when I received a text less than two hours later that he was ready, I thought they must have made a mistake. Maybe trimmed him up, but didn't bathe him? Or maybe he was such a jerk that they gave up and wanted me to come get him before he was finished. But when I arrived, I saw a fluffy, fresh pup that smelled amazing. He was taken great care of and didn't look traumatized and exhausted from a half-day event at the groomers. Sarah did an outstanding job! My dog can be a handful-he's afraid of literally everything and isn't a fan of being groomed. But she said he was a champ. I think she just knows what she's doing and is so good with dogs that she put him at ease. We will be back! read more

Eric is a nice guy, and after our conversation, I thought I'd found a great groomer for my dog with special needs. Unfortunately, I can't say whether or not he's good at grooming, but his customer service is disappointing. I explained to him when I made the appointment, we were leaving for a memorable vacation on Thursday, and I needed to get her groomed before we left. I texted him on Wednesday, the day of our appointment, to confirm, and I received a message saying he'd run into a time issue and offered to see her on Sunday. I couldn't find someone else in that short amount of time, so needless to say; I was not happy. He only works one week a month, so if you make an appointment, you might think about having a backup plan in case he bails on you as he did me. read more

I recently moved to Park City from San Francisco. I was paranoid about finding a good groomer in Utah for my dog as standard Wheaten Terrier cuts are difficult, and I was spoiled by my Wheaten Terrier's breeder in the Bay Area who had previously come to my home to groom my dog, Willett. She was able to get a recommendation through another Wheaten Terrier breeder in Utah, who hands down recommended The Dog Father Groomery. I feel so fortunate to have found Eric & Holly. Eric is one the great groomers & there is a few out there but not many that truly care about your pets. He treats my Westie puppies just like he treats me. He is one of a few that can groom with care & above everything else my dogs love him as I do. It really takes a lot of skill & training to make a Westie look like a Westie should. My female Shady Sadie was a handful when I bought her. I was so worried about her causing some problems because my Vet was a little scared of her. You know biting etc. so I asked her what to do she replied we can give her some meds to calm her down. Hmmmm really I was not going to resort to that. I called Dog Father & Eric said I love Westies & we will work together. WOW!!! Guess what he said she never gave me any problems at all. She is an angel and that was the best news ever. Eric should be called The Dog Whisper & with the name Dog Father how could you go wrong. I was worried that she would not look like a Westie but she was just gorgeous. He also did my male Westie & Barkley was also so handsome & he is a calm dog. I believe I could have never found a better place or groomer than Eric. His salon is clean & has a very nice appearance. Took my dog there to get groomed he sat there for 4 hours. I find out he hasn't even been groomed let alone a wash! They called me to tell me he was ready. So I go pick him up and asked why he wasn't cut she sad they couldn't do his sanitary area. I asked why the rest of him isn't cut. She said oh do you want me to cut him.... My family and I have been customers of the Dogfather for 3+ years. We take our 3 dogs in every week for a cut and bath. The level of service that is provided feels like we have a close friend of the family. We have two Scottish Terriers and an Orange Airedale, when there is a concern related to the dogs cut or brush out we recieve a call from the Dogfather letting us know what the concerns are and the best solution to the problem. We really do feel that the dogs are in best hands when it comes to their care. The cut of our two scotties are at the level of a professional show cut. When that cannot be achieved we receive a call as to why, and it is usually a result of the dogs matted hair which is a common problem for that bread. I would highly recommend the Dogfather to anyone that is in need of regular dog grooming. read more

I can't even begin to describe how amazing Eric and Holly Taylor are. I have been taking my dogs to their groomery for years. Not only do they treat every dog well, Eric has too much integrity to not tell someone when he notices a cut, or even if he has accidentally cut a dog. He treats it immediately with something to stop the bleeding and everything is so clean that nothing could get infected unless the owner didn't take care of it at home. He cares not only for dogs, but the owners of the dogs too. He took the time to talk to me while I cried telling him that we had to let one of our dogs go because she was sick and we couldn't afford to take care of her. He cried with me. He is more than a groomer to us, he is part of the family. And this one bad review by a woman that is trying to convince people to go somewhere else will be covered by the many many loyal customers he has, because he is that amazing.
