This includes follow up phone calls, prompt replies to my messages, I was even able to contact his staff after hours in order to tend to my post-dental work needs. During a previous visit, I was told I had a cavity, but I later confirmed that this was not accurate. This raises serious concerns about possible misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment being recommended. Recently, I returned and saw a different dentist. Instead of properly examining my condition, he relied on the previous notes and insisted that I needed a deep cleaning, quoting a significantly higher cost. This was suggested without a proper evaluation, which felt inappropriate and financially motivated. I was also clearly told that my insurance covers X-rays at no cost. However, I was unexpectedly charged $6 after my visit, even though I have had the same insurance for over 8 years with full coverage for X-rays. This lack of transparency is concerning. In addition, the front desk staff has been consistently rude and dismissive. I also felt that I was treated differently because of my accent, which made the experience uncomfortable and unprofessional. I called in advance to set up an appointment for a standard cleaning and X-rays, and I double-checked that my insurance was accepted. Upon arrival, they took X-rays and performed an iTero scan, followed by a brief meeting with the doctor. However, the receptionist holding a clipboard with a price sheet informed me that my insurance "isn't great," that they don't get paid from it, and that it would only cover the X-rays. She then claimed that due to a diagnosis of excess plaque, a basic cleaning wasn't covered and quoted me several hundred dollars out-of-pocket for a deeper type of clean, alongside a treatment plan for a retainer and Invisalign that totaled roughly $3,000. Knowing my benefits, I called my insurance company directly while standing right in the office, and my insurer confirmed that a standard, basic preventative cleaning was fully covered. What made the situation more uncomfortable was the atmosphere. When I politely questioned the front desk about why I was diagnosed with something requiring a non-covered procedure rather than a basic cleaning, the staff began whispering to each other, and other team members started peeking around the corner at me. It made me feel alienated and embarrassed over standard insurance questions. Additionally, no periodontal probing or charting was performed during the entire exam to justify the upcharge. I ultimately took my treatment sheet and walked out without getting the cleaning done. I have since gone to a new dentist, and the contrast was night and day. My new provider completed a full head, neck, lymph node, and jaw examination, performed a thorough periodontal chart (showing healthy numbers of 2s and 3s), and confirmed my teeth look great. They even had to retake the X-rays because the images sent from Gentle Dentistry were not to their standards. Even paying completely out-of-pocket at my new dentist, the full exam and basic cleaning came out to just $150, far more affordable and transparent than what I was quoted here. While the doctor herself was pleasant, the sales-driven atmosphere at the front desk, the lack of standard diagnostic steps like perio charting, and the awkward treatment from the staff made it clear this office was not the right fit for me.

Also during any dental procedure she'll talk during it and make sure you know what she's doing before doing it and what the sensation should feel like. This all helps make you feel relaxed, comfortable and know what to expect during any procedure as it's happening as well. All of her staff is also very friendly and a personable as well. I obviously thought it was to get me in and then sell me everything under the moon. To my surprise when I got there they took a look and gave me a free cleaning prior to whitening since I had one over 6 months ago. They have a tongue tie institute, majority of their clientele here are children and babies but they also treat adults! Dr. Moffett is amazing! They offer a free consultation appointment to access your concerns with tongue ties as well as answer your questions on the procedure, recovery and pricing. There was never any pressure to determine if I wanted to go through with it or not. On the other hand, if I was willing to that same day, they set enough time just in case you want to! The procedure itself is a quick 10-15 minute procedure. I felt extremely comfortable and any nerves I had were gone before the procedure and during. The recovery process was explained in detail and the exercises I needed to do were provided to me as well as demonstrated so I had an idea of what was expected of me. The entire staff is incredible here! Mindy is super sweet and welcoming. The whole team is great and suggest you go here for them alone!
