There is one female (don't know the name) that always sounds so annoyed when she picks up the phone...like the caller is inconveniencing her...and it made me not want to go back, but Dr Hitzeman was good so I did (mistake!) Second visit Dr Thomas Hitzeman was in surgery, so I got Dr Robert Hargarten. I have never had such an awful, uncompassionate, rude vet experience in all my life! I had a cat with me. Dr Robert Hargarten walked in with 2 big dogs...didn't say who he was or who these dogs were...didn't care if I am scared of dogs (I was attacked by a German shepherd so bad that it sent me to the ER after it tore up and scarred my arm for life)...doesn't care that my cat was now more terrified in that exam room...HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked for another vet, but he was the only option. He then proceeded TO PULL MY CAT OUT OF THE CRATE BY HER TAIL! Who would do that??? He later grabbed her by the scruff on her neck and jabbed a needle into her. She fell back into the crate, was wobbly, and cowered from me for the first time. I asked what he gave her and he said it was just an antibiotic. I asked why she was acting wobbly and hurt, and he said it stings. I again pressed on that she was now acting really strange and he said the shot wouldn't do that. When I got home, my cat was wobbly, limping, and personality had changed. Well it is 3 days later and I STILL have a limping, hurt cat. I am so sad and angry at myself that I didn't do better homework before coming here. Brought my cat in friendly, sweet, purring, and walking fine, but came back out with a cat that is limping and shows s/s of pain. Please don't make the same mistake I did - go elsewhere!

They have plenty of space in which to move around in their facilities which always makes me feel better about leaving them. The staff at Beekel have always been exceptionally accommodating and pleasant. We have never had a problem. The only minor complaint I might note is that their hours are a bit limited. But we have managed to navigate around that limitation without a great deal of difficulty. And even when I have called during off-hours, I have been able to leave a message and I have always received a call back. They are the best value around the area for pet boarding from my experience.

We have been taking our dogs to the Animal Inn for many years. There is no one else who has loved…read moreand cared for our 3 dogs so well. In the last year my dogs have had to be there for many weeks. They have taken such good care of them that it has truly become their home away from home. All I have to say is "we're going to the kennel" and they are running to the car. It is a clean and well cared for facility, in a wonderful setting. My dogs love playing in the barn and it gives them one on one attention every day. Having the owner right there on the property is very reassuring. Valerie and her staff are truly outstanding.

Still, this place is excellent and my most recent experience is a good example on why. As stated I recently brought my cat in to the vet. This is because about a month ago, she developed these odd looking bumps all around her neck. She was scratching all the time and i wasn't sure if they also hurt, but the bumps were really huge. I remember feeling frustrated and overwhelmed as I was already taking care of a sick family member. I called the vet, and they gave me an appointment for later in the week. So i took her once Friday, late afternoon to the vet to get her checked out. After doing her check up and seeing her bumps, i was told it was some kind of infection. I was prescribed some antibiotics for my cat. Vet is friendly and the check up and meds were very affordable. I took my cat home and started her on weeks of orally giving her antibiotics. My cat, Lynx, was not very happy with me during this time but ultimately her bumps vanished. I was glad to have my cat both happy and healthy again.
