I needed an emergency tooth removal. My regular dentist said they wouldn't be able to see me until Thursday, but could do the x-ray Monday. I called around and Modern said they could see me that day and do the procedure. They got me in, gave me options, and had my on the schedule for that afternoon. Dr.Moss was amazing. It took 2 Taylor Swift songs and my tooth was removed and we were saying farewell. I have never had a dentist work so fast and so smooth before! Everyone there was great!! This place is weird. Every time I've gone it seems like the order they perform things in (such as x-rays, cleaning, dental exam, etc) feels very chaotic. Dr. Durairaj is very kind and professional (and the reason why this place isn't getting 1 star), but I do NOT recommend Dr. Safari. When I had fillings put in on the left side of my mouth he seemed very unprofessional and literally said to the hygienist who was with him during the procedure something to the effect of, "see that filling I did? I'm a pretty good dentist, huh?" Felt like he was trying to flirt with her during my procedure and I was nothing more than an open mouth. (The fillings on my left side were also very sensitive to cold for the next 6 months after that.) When I went in for this last cleaning, they spent an hour telling me how I need to do a deep cleaning and it was going to cost around $500. We settled on a $100 procedure, but then literally as I was signing the pad they tried to tell me they wouldn't even be able to do it today because now the next patient had arrived and they didn't want to make him wait. Like don't I have priority in this situation if I've been here for an hour already and you're still not finished?! As someone who works and has young kids, I felt like this was very inconsiderate of my time. Like if I schedule an appointment for a routine cleaning, then I expect the cleaning to be performed at that appointment. I had to wait an additional 40 minutes before they'd get back to me. They are a strip mall dentist In the worst sense of the phrase. Moving patients in and out like a fast food restaurant, Not returning calls, not responding to their online appointment scheduler. They don't understand the concept of customer service, when a client expresses a concern, it isn't a personal attack. Very uncomfortable experience addressing safe hygiene procedure. Turns out the recommended procedure that would've been $1200 wasn't even necessary upon a second opinion. Keep driving to another strip mall. read more

Ihad a great experience the first few times i went and saw Dr Ha. He above and beyond to take of the issues i had. He even stayed late the first time i went to do a cleaning, filling and crown in one visit. the customer service from Dr Ha, the dental assistants and hygienist was superb. They even had later appointments on the day to make it more convenient. However, when Dr. Ha left the service and experience went downhill fast. The staff was never willing to help and had no explanations or answers for cost. They would take up to two weeks to return a phone call often times. I came as a new patient after my dentist retired. This office is, quite possibly, one of the BEST all around medical offices I've been to in BCS. The front office staff is friendly. The clinical staff is equally friendly and works well as a team. Dr. Pinkstaff provided the most thorough dental exam I've ever had. In addition, she's been able to provide all the follow up services I need and in a timely manner. I was educated about the procedures I need (and I knew I needed them), what could wait and what shouldn't. She took her time and answered all my questions. The financial portion has been explained upfront and very reasonable. I brought my Mom and she saw Dr. Ofoh, who also provided a very thorough exam. She picked something up on her xray and we've followed up with our family doctor. She was right! This isn't just a 'strip mall' dentist office. TLDR; Do NOT get the bacterial laser decontamination they push on you--it is not covered by insurance and has NOT been clinically proven by numerous peer-reviewed articles to reduce bacterial loads--be wary of any clinic that pushes unnecessary services. Also, DO ask for the local anesthesia shot for scaling and planing. Dr. Ofoh is a talented dentist and did a great job deep cleaning my teeth (hence 2 stars instead of 1); my issue is not with her specifically but rather, with the clinic that seems to encourage their staff to push unnecessary services onto their clients. Last week I scheduled an appointment with this clinic as it is in-network with my plan. I suspected I may have minor gum disease and wanted to get a second opinion as just 3 months prior I had gone to a different dentist who said my teeth were fine and to monitor it as I have very good dental hygiene. I go in and I am told I have 3-4 mm pockets and that I need scaling and planing, antibacterial irrigation, and bacterial laser decontamination in all four quadrants. The former two services were partially covered by insurance, but the latter was not and would cost $95 per quadrant ($380 total for that alone). When I asked Dr. Ofoh what it was, she said it was needed to kill all the bacteria beneath my gums that is causing the bone to resorb. I had not heard of laser decontamination before, but based on that information and NOT being told that it was a mere suggestion, went ahead with it. As noted in my summary up top, Dr. Ofoh said that the scaling and root planing should only be minor discomfort and said most people are okay with just topical anesthesia and if I wanted the local anesthesia shot--I said yes, I do, and got it, and am glad I did. They only gave me the shots on the bottom jaw and when they got to my top teeth they only applied the topical and the scaling and planing was very painful there. Dentists cannot charge more for the local anesthesia shot, so I would recommend anyone to get it unless you enjoy pain. Upon leaving, they presented a QR code asking me to leave a positive review for Dr. Ofoh, so for those relying on the positive reviews here, I would do so with a grain of salt as it seems they are heavily trying to up their ratings, perhaps artificially. My parents are visiting and my father has dealt with periodontal disease most of his life and was alarmed about the laser decontamination when I told them what I had done. While we are not dentists, his two best friends are dentists and I have many friends in medical and dental school. He made a few calls and both said that laser decontamination is not standard and they would not recommend it given the lack of evidence surrounding it, especially not for someone with very early periodontal disease, and only the scaling and root planing is needed. I asked my friends who are aspiring dentists and they said the same thing. In fact, laser decontamination is clinically Insignificant based on several articles--https://blog.tjcx.me/p/google-terrible-health-information?s=r so why was this pushed on me as something I should get done to save my teeth when in fact evidence does not suggest that? I called the office and they gave me half of the cost of the LBR back, but then messed up the billing so now I need to pay again... It is quite clear that Bryan Modern Dentistry is trying to scam clients out of money by recommending unnecessary services to make a few extra bucks. The rooms are not entirely closed off, so I could hear the client next to mine was also pushed laser decontamination, and it was recommended by a different person (not Dr. Ofoh, based on the voice), so it is a common practice in this office. Notice when you walk into the office that their walls are covered with advertisements warning patients about periodontal disease, gum treatments, etc. The previous reviews show that they pushed electric toothbrushes in the past. I would not recommend this office based on this. read more

Very impersonal and I got the feeling that they were more concerned with money than getting to know their patients. I was providing them additional health information and they kept putting words in my mouth/summarizing my meaning without active listening or notating the additional health information. I have a service dog and the only personal attention I received was them asking questions about my service dog. This is the equivalent of asking someone with a physical disability about their mobility device. The dental assistant dropped an xray device on the ground, wiped it with a cleaning wipe and tried to use it again. They gave me a single treatment plan, brought in the billing employee and the billing employee wanted me to approve the plan as if the only thing that mattered was the money. I had additional questions and the billing employee relayed the answers instead of having the dentist come back to answer them for me. I went here over a year ago, they cause more problems then they solved in my mouth. I've been bleeding from them on causing many other issues. Last Tuesday one of my teeth became extremely sensitive so I went back to get it fixed. They did an exam and determined that I needed a root canal. Referred me to Bryan in January or Katy now... I went to Katy. They did the root canal for $213. Went back to Bryan Modern Dentistry for the crown and they said it would be over $1000!!! I should be able to charge them the day of work I lost due to the dentistry they were incapable of doing as well as the additional day I took off to walk into there office this morning to find out they are going to dig their teeth in. If you plan on sending someone an hour and a half away to do a job you can't do that's worth $213 you'd better tell your customers that what you can do afterwards is "worth" over $1000 read more

I've called and been through their phone recording holding over an hour until I hung up. I've left messages on their website...never an answer. I'll start with the facilities which are beautiful, clean, and we'll maintained. Cleanliness is always an important factor to me when considering doctors. As the name implies, it is also modern design. The location is easy to get to. For families, they have a gaming station if there is a need to wait. They saw me quickly and we're able to get me scheduled in quickly. A feature I had never seen before is a little room where you get to meet your dentist, introduce each other and discuss any concerns you may have. Dr. Bunker and his staff are extremely respectful of your time if you need to get back to work as I did. As a new patient, they were extremely thorough taking digital exrays and photographs of my teeth. The technician was very helpful for individuals like me with a bone structure that isn't the most conducive for a few of the angles they need. Dr. Bunker was very thorough narrowing down an issue I was having to clenching my teeth while sleeping. He made some suggestions that I am exploring. The hygienist Amy is also nice to work with offering a few non - traditional suggestions. For me, she suggested looking at children's toothbrushes which are smaller and easier to maneuver if your mouth has certain bone structures. The office manager Bill reviews your billing and insurance options with you. Extremely pleasant to chat with. We found out we both like a few of the same business leadership authors. read more

The dentists here are GREAT. Dr. Ha always remembered who I was and he was awesome. I went to this dentist for years, but I decided not to return anymore, not because of the dentist, but because of their reception and billing, especially if you are a college student under your parent's insurance still. I somehow became the primary contact for all of my siblings who use Bryan Modern Dentistry, and they either refused to or never changed their contact information for my siblings, so I had the pleasure of forwarding emails and having awkward: "Uh... this isn't [insert sibling name]." phone calls. They said because we were all under the same family plan, they couldn't change it. Well, my sister got her own insurance, and they still hadn't changed it, despite her telling them to change it. Also, as the primary contact, I had the honor of having a debt collection agency coming after me and threatening to ruin my credit for my sister's debt. It was during this time that their phone system seemed to be down, so I eventually had to come to the office in-person to dispute it. They put the debt in my dad's name; I guess it makes sense since it's his insurance we were under? (So if you have an untrustworthy person on your family plan, don't go to this dentist because you might be chased down for their unpaid du Once again, the dentist was amazing and I'm sad to leave that, but it was getting too much to deal with their system after awhile. UPDATE 1: My sister, who has her own insurance and has told them she has a different insurance, has now been billed because they charged her visit to my dad's insurance. So woohoo for that. Seriously!! The headache from the billing department isn't worth it. UPDATE 2: They have a new manager who called me. They said they can separate my sisters into separate individual accounts, and they apologized. I want to emphasize the dentist and nurses here are amazing, and I'm hoping with the new manager, the billing and how they handle accounts will be amazing UPDATE 3: We still had issues with their billing department. read more

Have been going here for at least 3 years, but come in for my appointment and was told the cost of cleaning went from $75 tp $120. If I would sign up for their dental plan for $110 per year then they would do the cleaning for $85. If you add this up, the cost without the plan is cheaper than the cost with the plan. Decided to go elsewhere since they did not have the good sense to let me know in advance that the rules had changed and I could not afford it. My SS has not gone up by enough to cover these kind of increases, so I am left with no one to clean my teeth and keep them healthy. read more

This place is fine for regular teeth cleanings and basic procedures. However, I would not recommend doing any kind of surgery here. Their "surgeon" Dr. Morris only comes once a month to do procedures and then he is gone and you will never get a hold of him. I got my wisdom teeth pulled less than a month ago and they assured me that he would help with any concerns I had. I called him two days later with a question about the sutures and left a voicemail. He never returned my call. I then called a week later since I was still in pain and ran out of pain meds. I called several times and left voicemails but did not get a call back. This dentist assured me that Dr. Morris would be there to answer when needed, even if it was 1 am. That was a huge lie... I cannot trust a dentist if they cannot even answer/return phone calls. I made an appointment for my 20-something daughter because she had a cavity and hadn't been to the dentist in a while. This office was close to the house and they were advertising a $59 first visit special. The office is very new and modern and the staff friendly. My daughter said her visit was extremely pleasant, the best experience she's had a dentists office. The staff and Dr. Bunker were very thorough, and patiently answered all her questions. She had a two cavities that needed filling and they were able to do it that day. They are very reasonable, and were able to give us a cash discount because we don't have insurance. I recently had a tooth crack due to my wisdom teeth, and it was causing some severe pain. I have had this negative view on going to the dentist due to my last dentist was such a bad a experience, I would rather just avoid it all together, than deal with a dentist. I did some research, and settled on checking this place out. I called, and made an appointment, and the receptionist was super friendly, and had me set up with a pre-registration form so when it came time for my appointment, I had already filled out all the necessary paper work as a new patient, and wouldn't have to worry about filling it out when I showed up for my appointment. I met with the dentist, who examined my teeth, and determined I would need a root canal, and they squeezed me in that day. Everyone here was super friendly, and such a great help. Since I came in on my lunch break, they offered me quite a few snack options to hold me over until I was done with my appointment. This place has gone above an beyond what I have expected! I would gladly recommend to anyone to check this place out. After seeing them a couple of times to get a few of my teeth worked on, I feel like they are an extended part of my family. I actually look forward to going to the dentist on a regular basis! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The dentist here is extremely rough on your teeth and more about getting money from you than watching your overall dental health. After talking me out of what I asked for multiple times, they rescheduled my appointment and tried to threaten me saying no one would see me for weeks when I wanted to go elsewhere. Not only did I have to wait over a month for them to help me, but they messed up and caused me additional pain for the following year. I had to chew on one side of my mouth for over a year and had to get their messed up, expensive crown that they talked me into out. The dentist did not do the procedure. She gave me shots and left the rest to her assistant. After she was done, the assistant sliced my gums with metal floss by mistake and did nothing about it. My gums were completely swolen after they had seen me and I returned multiple times telling them I had pain still and they tried to tell me it was not their fault and tried to blame my wisdom teeth to yet extract more money out of me. I had a second and third opinion tell me that was not the case. This place sketches me out so bad that I panic and cry when I think of this place. I spent monthes crying myself to sleep because I just wanted my teeth to stop hurting. The pain gave me a constant headache and nausea and made me struggle concentrating. Going here was the biggest mistake of my life. They are still asking me to pay for the crown that they talked me into, messed up, and ultimately had to be removed due to their botch job. read more
