I have been a patient for almost 20 years. I have had one tooth extraction, four crowns, two root canals and countless cleanings here and have never been disappointed. The staff is top notch and have always helped me with the random documentation I always need for my flexible spending benefits. All of the staff exceeded all expectations in their customer service and that's because you can tell they TRULY care. Had to make an update: I had my first "procedure" which was getting a crown. I was extremely anxious, to the point I almost canceled my appointment. But I powered through it and showed up. Had to return today for a 2 step procedure on my teeth cleaning and after paying a total of $260.00 ( Out of Pocket) after insurance Paid their part on this $720.00 procedure. I NEVER felt so dissatisfied, confused and unappreciated 1st part went smoothly where It was explained to me that I would pay $120.00 on that day last week for my part Out of pocket on this procedure and I also scheduled some other stuff to be done in the future so my receipt had a ton of numbers on it (very confusing) close to $4,000.00 dollars worth of work on it. I was under the impression that $120.00 covered both sides of my mouth with this 2 step procedure as that was what was explained to me on the 1st day. The future procedures I would pay on the day it was done. When I got to the counter the receptionist today she asked me for another $140.00. I was so confused and after trying to explain to her that I was UNAWARE of this charge she began to make me feel as the "PAYING Customer" that what I had to say was unimportant. As a business owner myself I NEVER would speak to customer in that way. After she made it very clear that she didn't want to hear my side I said I would CANCEL all future treatment and find #dentist that would explain CHARGES more clearly only to have her say that's Fine by her as if "this customer" AKA me isn't worth anything. #DrJohnsonDentistry Failed me , he never even stepped into room I was in to say hello or ask how my procedure went "Almost felt I was in like a tooth factory being pushed along after being there for nearly 2hrs. I'm extremely disappointed and feel I was taken advantage of. Explaining produces and PRICES shouldn't be taken lightly. I'm now seeking a new dentist. Thank y'all for reading and God Bless Us All. Dr Johnson has been my dentist for 5+ years. As a matter of fact, he's been my whole family's dentist. My children, my parents, my sister and her family. The only hold out is my husband (loyal to another dentist ). We love Dr Johnson, Kelly and the whole staff. We trust him and appreciate how much time and attention he gives each of his patients. They itemized the treatment plans on a spreadsheet for a financial and crucial plan of attack for those of us with extensive needs and limited finances which was very nice! We've always had a good experience here. The front desk staff is lovely, I always get calls/reminders for appointments. They give you a really nice breakdown of all the costs/how much insurance will cover/etc., which is super helpful when planning multiple procedures. Dr. Johnson is kind and gentle and I've never had any pain or problems during/after a procedure. The facilities are nice but the customer service lacks professionalism, good business practices and courtesy. Beware if you have dental insurance because even though this provider is listed as a preferred provider, they will charge you for services that they originally stated would be covered by your insurance coverage and then become rude when questioned about the overages. Not the kind of people I wish to deal with when they are supposed to be offering a service and have knowledge and expertise in the charges and coverages which they claim to subscribe to. read more

Horrible! Was a loyal customer until service went from mediocre to terrible. On several occasions, arrived for appointments, only for staff to tell us that our appointments had been cancelled. No warning. No apology for the inconvenience of taking time off of work. Do your self a favor, minimize the aggravation by finding another dentist. When we did, we discovered other dentists have joined the 21st century and use more modern techniques for the same cost. read more

Really, Really Disappointed in Johnson Dentistry. Went in for teeth cleaning appointment (first appointment with insurance last week Oct 2021), spent an hour there, was told I would need to come back for another appointment to actually get my teeth cleaned and that an available appointment just opened for right after lunch. Staff was overly nice, Dr. Johnson also seemed nice and like he knew what he was talking about. I was presented a printed proposed dental plan which was well over what I wanted to spend & was told that was just proposed, it wasn't committing me to all those services (which basically all were upsells or not covered by insurance). I agreed to come back. Took more time off work. I go back and express concern about the proposed dental plan since the fees were much higher than my insurance was quoting. Dental hygienist used scaling machine on my top right and bottom right of mouth. Said my appointment was over. I owed $120 for my appointment. And I would have to come back to have left side of mouth cleaned and that would cost another $160 and they would polish my teeth then. Left side wasn't even touched at all. Office Manager was very persistent and extremely vocal that they could charge rates they wanted, and that my teeth would only benefit from "BEST PRACTICE OF CARE" not just a regular dental clean or regular dental night guard. And that Dr. Johnson would never do anything less than BEST PRACTICE OF CARE and I was welcome to go somewhere else. So disappointed, I went for a dental cleaning that would be covered under my insurance and left paying $120 and only half of my mouth even scaled. Everyone was very friendly but be cautious because they are literally pursuing upsell on every single thing. I am interested in taking care of my teeth and maintaining (and have regularly seen a dentist all my life) but really feel completely taken advantage of. So go in and take all credit cards because you will totally need it. Felt like I had a visit to an upscale car lot with car sales team that only care about revenue/profit. read more

Like one of the other reviews said, scheduling is a nightmare. I have to add that the woman who does it has the worst case of condescending teacher voice I've ever experienced. She speaks to you like a robot as if you're the biggest moron on the planet. First off, I called to make my first appointment as a new patient and she would only schedule my exam but not the cleaning. I didn't expect them to be at the same day/time since I'm a new patient and need to have an initial appointment, but she wouldn't let me schedule both appointments to reserve my spot and ensure I could plan it with work and not have to wait weeks to get a cleaning after my initial exam. Then, a week before my exam, I get a call from the same woman saying that I'm not eligible for a cleaning because my insurance says I had an exam last month. False. I explained to her that it was my husband who had a cleaning, there must have been a mistake, and that I would call the insurance to work it out. Then she said she was going to cancel my exam anyways. This made no sense because the appointment was a week out and I should easily be able to solve this issue in less than 24 hours. But no, she didn't listen or believe me (because obviously I'm a lying moron and she knows everything and the people on the phone at insurance companies never make mistakes) and said she was going to cancel the appointment. So, now I have to call my insurance to figure it out and then lose my appointment and get pushed back again trying to get an appointment at a different office. No way I am going to try to deal with that woman. If this is how they treat you before you even get in the door, imagine how terrible they are once they have you as a patient? Avoid. read more

I'm not an employee here & nobody asked me to write this. I just am, because as someone who had never been to a dentist in College Station before I want to share my experience. No waiting, upfront & honest staff that tells you exactly how much you're going to pay and the options you have for the work you need done. I literally couldn't read a paragraph out of their Sports Illustrated magazine (twice) before I was called out of their waiting area and Dr. Johnson was not only very welcoming but he did a great job crowning a chipped tooth I had. I'm very grateful for his level of expertise and how nice the staff was! read more
