The ambiance and atmosphere is retro. The bowling lanes are beautiful retro and beautifully crafted. There is a full bar and kitchen. And a unique outdoor seating area. The staff is friendly. They also have a live theater if different shows.

For a place that's centered mainly on bowling, I'm giving them 5 stars for the bowling aspect and 3 stars for the food. My group got there late at night so of course service would be slow. The rice in the bi bim bap was undercooked, and the burgers on the menu tasted mediocre.

We came out for the Holidating improv musical. This was such a a cool event! I didn't know they had a theatre area! We were able to get full service while watching the show. Out server was very quick and timed everything well to the show. The food and drinks were tasty too. We had the wild rice salad, adult slushy, grande nachos, and garlic bloody. All were pretty tasty, butt we filled up real quick on the nachos. The theatre tables were a little small, so I try and order accordingly.

This is such a cute place! We came in for their date night special. It's quite smaller than expected but super cute. Staff was really nice but it took us a while to get set up with bowling once we were done with our food. Note that the date night is two entrees but you don't get to pick your entree, it was a preset entree so we could have either a chicken quesadilla or veggie quesadilla. We also got the rosemary potatoes. We chose a bottle of red for our drink and then did a game of bowling. The bowling is pretty much self service which was interesting. You just grab shoes and a ball and they give you a paper scoring sheet so you track your own score. Very old school and very fun!

I've been to BLB a time or two before mostly to grab drinks. We stopped in on a Saturday (before St. Patrick's day) and was a little excited that they had a few festive drink specials. We opted for green beer (miller lite). The bartender was super cool & friendly. The dining area is a bit tight. They are always busy whenever I go. I would probably come back to bowl and/or see a show, maybe even try some food. Bowling prices didn't seemed reasonable.

A classic and famous gem of Uptown Mpls. First time coming here after years of saying I've always wanted to experience this place. It's definitely a cool scene to walk into with a bar restaurant and old school bowling alley. I just came here to see what was on the drink menu for St. Patrick's day. There were a few items I decided to try the green Miller lite beer to be festive. The beer was pleasing to look at with the bubbly green. I haven't had the chance to try any dishes yet, but will definitely be back since this is a staple in Minneapolis. Easy going staff

This is more of a restaurant vs. bowling alley. Was surprised and excited to see the menu - Ordered the Bibambap and it was a home run. Big portions, great colorful dish, and the gochuchang had a nice touch. Kimchi didn't taste as fresh but that is minor. Excited to try other dishes in the future.

New level of "bowling alley food"! Exquisite food! My Roasted Vegetable Salad was a WIN: nicely roasted veggies garnished with wild rice, delish nuts, dried craisins, and assorted goodies! My favorite was the roasted parsnips-Yummy! Equally good (but unexpected) was their Bi Bim Bap Bowl: great meat, veggies, & Kimchi. These are items I can't get readily even in cosmopolitan Minneapolis! Great service from Erica-we appreciate you! I'm a lover of historic & vintage things and this spot is a bonus! Next time I'm bringing my bowling shoes!

Fun spot to hang out and grab some drinks/food. Love the old school bowling area in the back, perfect for private parties too!

The Bim bap bowl with pork was so delicious! Better than most I've had. I went there with a friend for dinner and I had the BLT sandwich and he had the bun bap bowl and both were so good. The service was friendly and very attentive.

Kool customer service, food was lacking but it's a bowling alley. Music was dope and atmosphere was decent for a dive bowling alley.

It seemed a little loud though, even though the restaurant wasn't close to Full. There was some confusion with us originally getting the wrong menu but after it was all sorted out, seemed like a good selection! A couple of us got there a little earlier than the others and ordered cocktails - right from the beginning the service seemed a little slow. Our cocktails took a minute, and then it took even longer for them to take the orders for the other gals. We got a couple of shareable that were all great and ordered our meal . But again, everything seemed very slow. It took forever for us to get our food - we were nervous. We were going to be late for our show that was just a few minutes down the road because our main courses took so long. I had the Luna burger and it was decent a little dry, but it had good toppings on it. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their food overall it's just a shame that the dinner experience took so long. I also found the prices were a little high for the quality of food you were actually getting. I wouldn't tell somebody to never go there, but I would tell them to prepare for a wait jic it was always like that.

Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate crowded establishments in Minneapolis, and we often find seats. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful Amaro-based cocktail. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two-buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive-aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it?" My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

Here's a rundown of our amazing meal: Starters: The Kanpachi CRUDO, POMMES DAUPHINES (with amazing gruyère dipping sauce) and Chilled GREEN GAZPACHO (they split this for us since it's a soup) were all fantastic. Entrees: The Walleye was great and we really enjoyed the AMERICAN WAGYU STEAK butchers cut. They all had great and unique flavors. Desserts: The server recommended the peach cobbler and we received a delicious complimentary sundae since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Cocktails: I really enjoyed the Paper Plane since I like tequila and my husband liked his Old Fashion. The Spritz was also refreshing. The server did a great job pacing everything, and was knowledgeable with the menu and the waitstaff was polite and attentive. We reserved a table outside since it was a nice summer day and enjoyed our little spot along the restaurant. Other tips: We found free parking in the lot at the building at 5:00. However, Bûcheron, located in Kingfield, one of the most down-to-earth neighborhoods in Minneapolis, deserved all its accolades. We grabbed two seats at the small bar, and I was immediately wary. The woman behind the bar, while professional, was ice cold. She warmed up later, but what registered from her affect was that we weren't worthy of dining in this esteemed restaurant. It was off-putting, but she was friendlier later in the evening. I'm old, so that might be it too. Many younger people in the Twin Cities don't like old men. Bûcheron's space is small and homey, tying in well with the Kingfield neighborhood. It's cozy and unpretentious. I liked that. The food was scrumptious. Everything tasted wonderfully, and there wasn't even one miss. The menu changes constantly, so listing the dishes might be moot. However, the Pomme Dauphines, gazpacho soup, halibut, and sticky toffee cake made us sigh with pleasure. On a Monday night, the place was packed, but it empties early. That's typical in the Twin Cities. Late dining is not in vogue. However, Bûcheron is popular, so make reservations early. For the 12 months that we have lived in the Twin Cities, Bûcheron and Myrial provided our best meals. Bravo and Brava! Both were priced fairly, providing bang for your buck. I don't need cheap, but I yearn for great. Bûcheron provided great.
