A group of friends and I went here for our friend's birthday, only to have two women end up seriously ill by the time we left. The two friends each only had one drink from the bar and were left retching, struggling to stay upright. They were completely knocked out by one drink, which was bizarre, concerning, and entirely out of character. Both woke up this morning with no hangover and a complete memory of everything that happened. One friend was discussing with a coworker whose daughter and friends had a similar experience a couple weeks ago. That woman also knows of another group of young women who have experienced this. This is not normal. There had to have been something dangerous and suspicious going on for multiple women to have the same terrifying experience. I do not recommend any woman visiting here and I will not be returning ever. read more

Disclaimer: THIS IS A REVIEW ABOUT THE RESTAURANT PORTION, NOT THE NIGHTCLUB PORTION. I hate to do this, but I need to get this out while it's fresh in my head. I finished eating here about 90 minutes ago and am quite disappointed. My friend and I were out hoping to get some burgers from Fremont on their $1.00 Burger Mondays, but they were closed due to a holiday party... so we saw this place and were familiar with the one downtown. We like the one downtown, so this one would be cool right? Wrong. I've also never eaten food from a Pourhouse either, only had drinks. I can see why. So we checked their menu and saw they offered a wing special on Mondays and were nearby so why not stop in, despite it having an average score of 2.5 stars on Yelp?! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place looks SO NICE! Both the inside and out look so modern, well-decorated, clean, neat and like a place that would be fun to hangout in. They did a great job with that. This place is so huge and serves great as a nightclub on a busy weekend or college night. Restaurant seating is right in the middle of what seems to double as a huge dance floor that is right up against the bar. The ceiling stretches so high and you can see right up to the 2nd floor from all over. This place looks awesome and seems like it has MASSIVE potential for the night scene. Service: This is where things started to take a dive. Ezra was our lovely server, but that was kind of it. She looked nice, showed up, took our orders, smiled and that was really it. She didn't refill my water, didn't ask my friend if he wanted another drink, didn't check on us after our food showed up, NOTHING. Granted, she was the only one running the bar and the bar floor, but still... we needed things. No excuses as we are paying customers. She wasn't there. I had complaints, but I couldn't even tell her... because I don't think she cared. Moving on... Food: I'm a big guy with a huge palate and there isn't much food that I don't finish, but SURPRISE! Lol. I ordered 2 "buckets" of their wings. One good thing is that you can get 2 flavors per bucket. (It's actually not a bucket at all, but a nicely presented plate with celery, sauce and neatly organized wings, 10 of them to be precise. They were so overcooked. They weren't good. At all, but I was starving, so I ate. I tried their Peanut Sauce, Grand Mariner, P.H. Rub and Dry Ranch. They all were such a light flavor that I could hardly taste the difference between them, though the Grand Mariner was my favorite of the 4. I just wish, WISH the wings weren't cooked so freaking long! By the time I got to the last few I couldn't even eat them. They were so tough... like jerky, but hey... guess who wasn't around for me to let them know how I felt? You got it! Lol. Nah, it ain't that serious, I'm just being a jerk, but yeah... the wings weren't good. I don't ever plan on coming back here for the wings... though if they weren't cooked long enough I'm sure they'd be fine. Value: $5.00 for 10 wings. That's a freaking DEAL man! I was all over it! I'm just sad I didn't like what I experienced. Oh well, I shall lose no sleep over it, but I needed to get this out. Oh, let us not forget that this place charges 2.9% extra if you're using a card. Like, for real man? It's 2018! Lol. You don't find out about this until you get your bill and it says it WWAAYY at the bottom of the receipt. Lol. I mean, I guess. So you can either pay the 2.9% extra for using your card, use cash or get bent over by the ATM and its fees at the front door. You choose! In conclusion, I'll come here to party, possibly... not to eat. That's what this place is good for and it's made clear. read more

I visited the Pourhouse last weekend. They were still operating in soft opening mode so they did not have all their of specials running yet. However, some of their specials are pretty good. Bottomless cups on Friday night and $20 all you eat and drink on Sundays will surely pack the place. I had a chance to try some of the food. The "Totchos" are good and the serving size was large. Make sure you have at least 3 or 4 people to help with those. The Pourhouse Uptown is in the large space that Coup d'Etat once occupied. They have a decently large dance floor for Friday and Saturday nights. They also have an elevated DJ booth which is pretty cool. There are still a lot of signs of the Coup d'Etat motif. Personally I would have liked them to change it up a bit more. The large bar that Coup d'Etat had is gone and it is replaced by a bar that is too small for a party bar. They do have a small bar upstairs but I'd imagine the line to get drinks on weekend nights could be a nightmare. The staff was friendly. One minor thing that bugged me when I visited is that the men's bathroom stall door lock was already broken. Overall, I think the place will succeed and become an Uptown staple. It's worth checking out. read more

"Disgusted with the Staff and Security at this place. I'll never be back. Around 1am I went to have a cig break at the DJ Pauly D show on the patio at the Pourhouse in Minneapolis. I noticed this woman dry heaving at a table with a man next to her holding her up as her eyes were rolling to the back of her head, drooling and foaming a bit from her mouth as she attempted to throw up in a garbage can. I approached the table and tried to get the mans attention asking what she had taken and why he was just standing there and not trying to get her to a safe place or to the hospital and he replied, "it's fine, she's a mother of 3 and doesn't get out much". This woman needed some serious medical attention. Another man with a ball cap comes over and again, acted like it was no big deal and tried to get me to go away. I go to the bartender who is a woman and there is a security guard standing right next to her. I ask for a water for this woman, she gave me one and said it's ok they work here? Wtf? Why was no one trying to get her out of there and get her help? I felt so damn helpless at this point cause literally, staff, security, her husband and his friend were all acting as if this was normal. If she is a mother of 3 why isn't the first priority to get her help so she can live to go home to her 3 kids??? So I called 911. She was taken out on a stretcher and put into an ambulance and taken to the hospital. This is not ok. Why should the situation be any different because she works there, or is a mother who doesn't get out much? She was incoherent and needed help and no one would help her. I was told by a parking lot attendant across the street "you should see it on a Sunday here". How does this get worse? This establishment and there security are trash and should be shut down for trying to hide shit like that. It's going up on a Friday! Who doesn't love a good happy hour!? Pourhouse offers 2 for 1s on food and drinks! Let me repeat myself... Pourhouse has 2 for 1s on drinks and their full food menu! Two times a day! Let's be honest, most places just offer specials on rail drinks and select appetizers... but Pourhouse is more than a basic happy hourI'm talking burgers, salads, mozzarella sticks, tots, cocktails, mules, etc...Not Pourhouse... They are offering a legit happy hour!! Let's not forget that they have a pool table, patio, and large screen TVs. Weather you are meeting up with coworkers after a long week or catching a game, Pourhouse is a great happy hour option. Customer service during my visit was also up to par! I'm really impressed with the security training here. I was initially attracted to the outdoor sitting area to do some work after biking from downtown Minneapolis to get a beer and work on something on my computer. The beer selection is good and they have pineapple on tap, which lets face it is pretty impressive for a high volume bar. I had a good time sitting out on the patio working, it IS LOUD but you are both directly interacted with if that is your preference. read more

Nice location and rooftop chill out spot. As I entered the bar I showed the bouncer my ID and he immediately said "This is a good fake." which I thought was unnecessary considering he said it with a rude tone and straight face. I laughed it off and continued inside because I know I look young but I'm 23. My friend and I go to the bar and order some specialty drinks they had listed at the bar tables. The bartender then says. "I don't know what that is." We laugh thinking he is kidding but he says it again and says he doesn't know how to make that and he's new. He yells across the bar to the other worker and the worker is busy and just shrugs. We read him what's in it but he was extremely rude and suggested we order something easier. So I ended up ordering a vodka cranberry (which was somehow $9). I thought he was extremely unprofessional. read more

I'm torn on how to rate The Pourhouse, because we had a pretty terrible experience but it was later redeemed. It's got a great set up if you're there to watch Sunday football - good size, lots of TVs and a big projector, and a Sunday 2-4-1 happy hour that starts early. It got pretty slammed with young drunk kids by 8pm, though, and the bar tenders seemed to be more concerned with catering their regulars than us. I ordered the soup of the day (chicken wonton) but it came out like a shredded chicken mush. I had actually thought they brought me the wrong dish, but they didn't. It tasted... fine, but not what I was expecting nor wanted. I then got the ahi poke ball with "seared" tuna. Let me tell you - that tuna was not seared, but rather cooked to a rubbery crisp. And it was SUPER spicy. I can handle spicy, the spicier the better, but this bowl had my mouth on fire which I had no reason to expect since there's nothing spicy in the description on the menu. Needless to say, I was unable to finish the dish. The horrible experience we had until then was made much better when the bartenders realized I was unsatisfied with my dishes. They were both extremely apologetic, gave us 2 free drinks, and removed both the dishes from the bill - which they did not have to do because I did actually eat the food. They definitely redeemed the experience, and shame on me for not ordering bar food at a sports bar. I'm willing to give it 1 more chance. read more

Great service. Went there for drinks and dinner, had the chips/queso as well as the totchos. Both were amazing! We put in our dinner order, I ordered the Poke bowl which is the main reason we came to Pourhouse. My wife put her order in, and around 10 minutes later our server came out to inform us that they were out of ingredients for the Poke bowl. Although frustrating because that's the main reason we chose Pourhouse for dinner, our server's honesty, speedy service, and ability to cancel my wife's order while it was most likely being made, cured that frustration. We'll be back to try that Poke bowl, we were filled up with chips/queso and totchos so we were happy! read more

Absolutely disgusting smelt like a train station bathroom they do not offer The Wanderers punch anymore which was there big add push when they came in to the area also felt extremely rapey by far the worst bar in the Uptown area but if you like the smell of old beer and piss on the floor and also want to be sexually assaulted at this is the place for you read more

We came in today to watch the Cavs Celtics game. It was super busy and only one server was working the upstairs, and was also the bartender. They informed us that they were out of "all salads" and two of the options we ordered initially. The poor single server was running around trying to make everything work but it was terrible service (no fault of her own.) They also came back to our table after we ordered second items to inform us that their kitchen wasn't serving anymore food and didn't have a reason. And then, to top off an already terrible night, they kicked everyone out with 5 minutes left in the game. They apparently had a "private event" and if we wanted to stay, we had to pay and wait in line. If they intend to treat people like this, I hope they don't last long. They worst service I've ever had, will not be back. read more

Terrible service. Server wanted to try and memorize our order instead of writing it down but got both of ours wrong. He also told us the burgers "come with fries, chips, or tots" when in reality it was extra for any of those. As for the food it was not at all worth the price we paid. If I buy a $15 burger I don't think it should be dry. As soon as we paid we were basically invisible, we were waiting so long just for a box I had to interrupt the flirting our waiter was doing at the bar. Unfortunately, the negative reviews were correct... this place has extremely slow service (almost non existent) and staff that is not well prepared for their jobs. Our table of 4 came in at 9:00pm to grab dinner and were greeted by a waitress that brought us water. She asked us what we'd like for beverages and said she'd be back to take our orders shortly. Well, 10 minutes later, she comes back frantically saying that she's new and it's her first day, etc. that the drinks would be out soon - she takes our orders and can't answer our questions on a couple of menu items because like she said, she's new. Whatever, we looked past that. It is now 9:45 and our drinks STILL were not at our table. Finally, I got up to find another staff member to ask if our order/table was forgotten by chance because we had been sitting there for quite some time.. (45 minutes!!!!) She said no and that our waitress should be out shortly. She did end up bringing our drinks at 9:50pm and I had to ask, "how much longer for the food do you think? we are on a tight(er) schedule and are wondering if we should head out instead of wait" - she assured us it would be out "SOON"... finally, after ONE HOUR of waiting, our food was brought to the table and of course, 2 of the 4 meals were put in incorrectly. So we had to wait AGAIN for those meals to be made right. Oh MY goodness. This is THE WORST restaraunt experience we have ever had. Ever. We will never, EVER come back here. Happy hour does NOT cover food on game days apparently. I would be understanding if they told us beforehand but now I'm spending $40 on a meal that I thought would be a lot cheaper. Awful! I tried going to this bar with a group of 5 friends and was refused entry based on what I was wearing! I left the line and then my friends were refused entry. This discrimination is unacceptable and then I was told they sent a picture of my self without permission to other bars so that I could not get in there as well. I will never try to give this establishment my money again and will never tell anyone to got there. I can not believe the disrespect I was treated with. Went in with my partner for a cocktail and bite to eat. It wasn't super busy so we went up to the bar and the bartender told us that seating was open and we could take a seat of our choice. So we took a 2 seat table off to the side. The bartender came right up to us but with a very pushy tone and attitude. She gave me anxiety when asked about my choice of drink. She then even got irritated when my partner still was a little hesitant on choice of drink for himself. So we put in our drink order and then look at the menu she comes back with these cheap plastic cups they call cocktails. Then continued the same crappy in a rush rep-ore. No help with choices. Instead quickly said well I'll just come back then. When she came back instead of asking to order food. She demanded we give a card to hold to open a tab which didn't make sense because we weren't having multiple drinks nor were we sitting at the bar. We told her that we only had cash. We finally order our food and after a short time it came out. Now the food was good minus her forgetting to put in an order of fries which I guess could be worse. After that she proceeded to set up a beer pong table right next to us for a group of patrons to play mind you there already a little drunk. So at that point I got irritated from the shouting and ball being flung at us and near us. The vulgar convo and shitty customer service just ruined my meal. I went to the bar asked for the check and left. I even left a tiny tip because I have more class then not to but believe me there was no reason for this establishment and bartender to get any compliments. Avoid this place if you can. read more
