We ventured over here with some friends who knew the DJ curating the tunes that night. For a weeknight, it was getting pretty full by the time we strolled in, but luckily we were still able to secure a table for four. The space itself isn't terribly large, and it looked like there were only three or four people working that evening. After being seated, it took a while before we were able to order our first round of drinks. Normally I don't focus much on service in reviews, but we could immediately tell our waitress was not having a great night. We were forgotten about a few times, but eventually managed to order some small bites, including a charcuterie board and some pretty yummy cheese curds. When we finally caught her for our second round, I complimented her glasses since they were similar to mine, partially in an attempt to cheer her up. I was met with a glare and a mumbled "thanks." When she walked away, all four of us kind of looked at each other like... dang, we're not sure what we did. Having all worked in service ourselves, we try to be respectful, stack our dishes, wipe up after ourselves, and generally make things easier where we can. Oddly enough, when it came time to pay, she returned with a completely different attitude... suddenly cheerful, friendly, and telling us to have a great night. Honestly, the whole interaction was a little bizarre! Service aside, the cocktails were balanced and genuinely good, the food was slightly elevated and hit the spot, and the atmosphere was great, especially with the DJ playing that night. We decided to Uber since we knew we'd be drinking, so I can't speak firsthand to parking, although it looked like street parking could be moderately difficult depending on the night. We've been here several times. The staff is pretentious and honestly rude. The drinks are ok. But if you're not dressed like you're "somebody or something" don't bother. It's the staff treats you like you have the plague. We came after attending at a Vikings party and they were rude and dismissive. This would be our neighborhood bar, if they were cool, but it's too pretentious for us. The service is meh, the drinks are ok. I wouldn't recommend and we've given them a lot of chances. read more

Came here before a show next door on a whim. Super glad we did! Pretty small space, so I feel like it would be hard to get into on a busy Saturday night.. (saw a few couples try to come in with strollers... uhm.. no.) But the space they do have they utilize well! Popped in before meeting some friends for a quick beer and appetizer. The atmosphere is great and the staff was fantastic! It's a pretty cozy spot and fills up quick so finding a spot can be tricky in busier times. They're an offshoot of Town Hall brewing so the beer was solid as always. The happy hour hummus app was fantastic! They gave a ton of it and refilled our pita when it was clear the ratio of bread/dip is way off. That's my only gripe, really. Went to the Sidecar prior to seeing Zoltan Kaszas last night. Although there was a wait, the staff was "on it". Very efficient and in tune to what was going on. My friend and I shared a double burger (which they were kind enough to divide in the kitchen), along with fries. The food was very good! I would definitely recommend this place. They know what they are doing. Great ambiance as well. Only recommendation is that they change the bathrooms to unisex - especially since there are only two. read more

The perfect date night, happy hour, or night out (for a small group). This place is small, but cozy. Their drinks are delicious, my favorite is the Bee's Knees. The food menu is limited, but everything is tasty! Highly recommend the French fries and the Tennessee chicken slider. Could probably pass on the Caesar salad next time (nothing special). The service is average, the staff seem busy but it's not terrible. They don't have a patio, but their sister restaurant Town Hall Tap, right next door, does. They also have a larger food menu. Nice bar in the area open for happy hour and for drinks. Was visiting and met up with a friend for dinner. We went here during happy hour before our dinner reservations and got a round of drinks and fries. They have a wide variety drinks and options, a honey menu and all of the classics. I enjoyed their Espressotini, Positive effect, and their hot toddy. Nice little bar and I really enjoyed the music they played. The bathroom lights are pretty bright. I just left Sidecar. What a rude bartender I had. It was not busy at all, but instead of serving me in a timely fashion she stood around talking to the other servers. I was seated at the bar. Later, when there were plenty of open tables she asked me to move over next to a large patron to keep two bar chairs open. Stopped by here for a late night drink and apps. It was a beautiful night and open air dining room felt good. The server was very courteous and let us know that their kitchen was closing soon. He sat us and requested that we sit inside as they were closing the outside. We ordered some drinks and the fried pickle and cheese curds. The drinks were good and they have a eclectic selection of beers too. The fried pickles were very good and even though these were no state fair cheese curds, they were still tasty. I had been eagerly awaiting Town Hall Tap's expansion into the space now occupied by Sidecar - it took a few more years than I think anyone had hoped, but I'm very happy this new neighbor is finally open. Both the cocktail and small plates menus have changed along with the seasons since they've opened. Having tried a number of offerings from the various iterations of both and I think it's safe to say you'll be happy with whatever option you choose from their fairly extensive drink list (Town Hall beer is also available if you prefer something malty). The kitchen is shared with Town Hall Tap, but the menu reads very differently. Options are a bit more limited, but there's still plenty of choices for snacks or something more significant. Their fries are great, the BBQ scallops seem like something that shouldn't work on paper, but they are delicious and the elote dip presently on the summer menu will end up in my face a lot while it lasts. What a fun classy spot to grab a drink! We had a couple of craft cocktails: the Brave New world with butterfly peaflower infused gin. It was so refreshing, floral, and with just the right hint of sweet, in a gorgeous lavender color. The southwest sour with mezcal was a good contrast- smokey, and heavier. The red wine float made it so picturesque. There's some fun ceiling art based on the namesake, and the cocktail sets are copper colored- so beautiful. Definitely check it out! read more

We had a great time at trivia last night! This is our second time attending trivia here and the host is phenomenal! The menu consists of upscale style cocktails that have a lot of great diversity in flavors and spirits. The drink list is very reavive and has many things I haven't tried before which is exciting as someone who frequents cocktail bars. I tried their version of a hot daddy which included a jalapeño element as well which was fun. I'm a huge spice fan so I liked the drink but if you are spice sensitive this one is definitely not for you. My partner tried their martini as well and enjoyed. The ambiance is cute and bougie with a slight romantic feel. There is booths, tables, and bar seating available. We additionally tried their chicken sliders with fries this time. We've had their Brie cheese curds in the past and loved them as well. The sliders were good but the fries were an up charge of $4 for super underwhelming/average fries. For that much of an up charge you would expect them to be better or get a lot of them, and the fry portion was slightly under average if anything. Additionally, service was near painfully slow and inattentive despite the place being more than half empty. There were only a total for 4 trivia teams and a maybe two tables and the two bartenders didn't often circle, check in with people, and seem to be very interested with engaging with the clientele. We had to wave to get someone's attention to order food, we would've ordered dessert but no one ever checked in or offered. Additionally, no one asked how our drinks or the food was. Maybe I'm just sensitive as a server but I was super underwhelmed. Additionally, when we arrived they invited us to choose a table we wanted - we chose, and then they clarified that the table was fine for tonight but usually they didn't allow couples at their booths. Once again, totally fine, but don't ask me to choose and then dislike my choice. It's much simpler to just guide clients to where you'd like them to sit or address the issue of how many are required in a party to sit at a certain table only on nights when it requires it otherwise it just read as slightly awkward (once again - majority empty venue). We'll probably return for the trivia because the host was so great but the service was just meh. Drinks are fun though!! read more

However the spot doesn't have a lot of seating but it wasn't super busy when we went so I would say just try for a walk in and you'll most likely get in. Got a call from a friend asking if I'd like to go to a speak-easy for a quick bite and drink. Since I really didn't have anything for dinner, I decided to meet. As per my usual, I didn't get any pics of the place, drinks, or food, however I would love to go back and try other beverages on the menu. I had gotten their Pineapple Martini, and really liked it. It was pretty sweet, but that helped slow down my drinking. I also ordered the Sliders w/fries, and they were very tasty. The interior was very warm and welcoming, as were the staff. As late as we arrived, it was still pretty busy, thankfully our party got a table and were taken care of right away. I had the butternut squash ravioli-it said 'in brown butter' but it was very dry, I asked for some kind of sauce for it, and the server brought me some peppercorn gravy type sauce that was meant for steaks. It didn't really go with the ravioli. When I got the bill I was charged $1.00 for the sauce that I didn't even use. I brought this up to the server, she talked to the manager and all they did was take the $1.00 off the bill. I would have expected that if they wanted a return customer, the whole item would have been taken off the bill-or at least a drink or a dessert offered or something.
