Uptown Lobby is a hidden gem. On nights where they have shows or events, this place is packed. However, on other nights I see this place empty often which is a shame because it's so good! I came here a few days ago during their "crabby hour" from 8-10 pm and we all each ordered our set of a truffle fries, a Granada slider, and a mahi mahi taco. The fries were incredible. They were super crispy, cooked perfectly and I love truffle with fries. The best part however was the aioli that came paired with it. It had a citrusy, umami flavor that was just so incredible I would have taken a whole jar home if I was able to. Absolutely perfect and can make any dish. The Granada slider was also awesome. It was bigger than I expected and included that wonderful aioli again, along with some greens, the patty, manchego cheese, and bacon. It was delicious and once again that aioli is just perfect and it was a much larger amount of food than I was expecting. I also had the mahi mahi taco as well which was good, but not my favorite. I'd probably try something instead of this again next time. Also, the staff is super funny and really awesome. We had Cassie (sorry if I got this wrong) and she was super kind, made a lot of jokes, and even gave us a tour of the theatre when we asked if we could take a peak to see what it looks like. Incredible service, we had a really great time with her. We all are definitely going to come back soon, and maybe even come for a show! But the food alone is worth a visit for sure in my opinion. I strongly recommend the Granada Slider and you have to get the truffle fries with the aioli. A side note the menu is a little confusing as they are transitioning menus so be patient as the staff have no control and the food is worth the confusion. read more

The food was great! We were really impressed by the quality and presentation. I highly recommend the scotch eggs. The Bikini sandwich and truffle fries were good too. It had a 1920's art deco vibe which I love. We had a reservation but the host seemed to struggle to find it, almost even questioning the validity of it even though I showed her proof they texted confirmation. Thankfully they gave us a table right away anyways. The restaurant is attached to a theatre so it gets really busy prior to showtimes and the service becomes slow or non existent. At one point it even seemed that they forgot about us and the manger noticed so she made sure to get our food to us. The server later apologized and was very kind but I couldn't help but notice she took the time to chit chat with coworkers while we waited. When the theatre performance started it loudly traveled into the restaraunt through the walls. While it didn't bother me I can see how this may bother others. I'm actually glad we went because we learned about the theatre and would like to attend a show sometime. I just wouldn't recommend going to the restaraunt unless you are seeing a show there. read more

I was leery coming here with some really negative reviews. Overall I thought it was great! Pro - very small place, drink was great, the best pasta I've ever had (amazing), server gave us a heads up that 15% would be added at the end (which I appreciated), she also gave us a tip to put our coats on chairs in the theatre since it's a first come first served, she also gave us plastic cups so we could take our current drink in. Con - I really don't like looking at a menu from a QR code on my phone. Wish I would've received an actual menu. Were out of the moscato I was craving. So, if I was just reviewing the food, I would give them 4 stars, but as a whole it deserves 2 at most. The service was non-existent, so glad we were also not going to the show, we would have never made it! Then the almost $10 service charge was infuriating! There is no paper menu, so you should really check that online menu for the notice of this charge, we didn't see it... The charcuterie board was ok, could have one sweet snack. The shrimp were large in the linguine. Just not a great experience. read more

Upon recommendation from our friend, my boyfriend and I decided to pick Uptown Lobby as our Saturday date. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I will certainly be back for the Scotch Eggs, the aroma of chorizo, the texture of the yolk and the overall presentation left a lasting impression. My boyfriend got the 12 ounce garlic seared beef sirloin and was so kind to let me try it. Also presented pleasingly, and with one bite I could taste the herbs and bone marrow. It was incredible! I had the Bikini Sandwich. The crisp bread with the delicious ham and of course my favorite part, the manchego cheese all over the sandwich was exquisite. Lastly the chef was so kind to give us their Carmel Apple Empanadas. Delicious! Cannot wait to go back and try more! read more

Went for their happy hour (which they call "crabby hour") and it was well priced for outstanding food. All three items (burger, tacos, fries) were incredible and well crafted. The best item was probably the fries: perfectly salted and crunchy while still being warm and slightly soft at the center. We'll definitely be back! read more

SUCH A COOL PLACE!!! SUCH A VIBE!! My best friend and I made reservations before the Women of Pop show -- the whole experience was out of this world. I got the paella (which I've never had before) and I didn't know what to expect but it was good. She got the bikini sandwich and finished the whole thing, so I'm assuming that was good too. We shared the truffle fries and those were really where it was at -- really, really yummy. We got a couple different drinks and none of them seemed consistent color or taste wise but they were good, so it's fine. OHHHH and before I forget, the service was FANTASTIC! OK. Uptown Lobby was accommodating because we were running late. Our service was friendly but they didn't know what was going on with their menu. My husband ordered a drink. No, they're out of it. No big deal. He got something else. We tried to order a few appetizers... they don't have them as well. What? So we settled on the Albóndigas (meatballs). The one thing they pretty much had available. Look at my attached picture. Bland and dry. The sauce must've been sitting out because the oil had settled on the top. I had entrées that I wanted to order but nope. Not available. So I ordered a shrimp salad. When it was brought out, I could already smell it... under cooked. The only thing that was enjoyable was the burger and fries. Oh, I also wanted to order dessert from the menu but they only had brownies and cookies. read more

We arrived tonight for dinner promptly at 5:00 for our reservation to give us plenty of time before seeing the flamenco show at the Granada theater, which is attached to the restaurant. Things went downhill from there! It took about 10 - 15 minutes for a server to approach us, and after we got our drinks at about 5:30, we ordered our dinner. At 6 o'clock, we inquired with our server as to the status of our food, and she came back to say that they were plating it in the kitchen. We never had anyone come over to tell us that they were short staffed, or that the food was taking a little longer than expected. Finally, we were able to flag down the manager and all she said is that she would discount our drinks and that she was sorry but they would have the food out shortly. At 6:19. We spoke to the manager again and she said well it's OK. You still have 11 minutes before the show starts but we still didn't have our food. At that point ,our server came out with my food but didn't have my wife's. At that point we got up and left so we could get to our seats before the show started. I am always extremely lenient when it comes to delays as I spent over a decade in the hospitality industry in Minneapolis. However, when it takes an hour and twenty minutes with promises of our food coming out after 45, 60 minutes and the assurance that "they are plating your food now" on multiple occasions, enough was enough. A perfect evening was ruined and we're hungry sitting in the show with no options. Until they get their staffing issues resolved, I'd avoid this place. Let me preface this by saying that I am ranking this as 5 stars solely based off of what I had: Wings. I ordered amidst the pandemic via GrubHub. I had asked for them if they could make the wings spicy, and they came with a hot sauce that won't kill you, but was certainly packing flavor. Even more impressive was the fact that the meat literally fell off the bone. If you're looking for some crazy crispy deep fried wings, these aren't for you. However, if you're looking for incredibly tender, high quality meat, this is your spot. Ambiance looked awesome and staff was definitely incredibly safe in terms of COVID protocols. Great place for a girls dinner. I hope my fellow foodies check this place out. The service was very attentive. Well we were the second group dining here this evening. But our service was spot on. We tried so many different things and were even given a peek at the theatre area where you can host events. The dining area is in the front lobby area. The menu is amazing. Preface: My SO and I attended while the first night of the candlelight concert series was taking place here, so I think they were trying to get used to the change. Host was kind. Interior is beautiful brick with several lovely chandeliers. There are also tables outside. When we sat down, it took over 20 minutes to get the attention of the wait staff. We were told someone else would be our server but they could put in a drink order. We ordered sangria. At no point did we get any table water. :( Another waiter came over and apologised (not sure what happened to the first one?!) and he was very kind. We had the short rib, which was flavourful, very tender, and hit the spot. We also had the lemon ricotta fritters, which were fun. Loved the food and decor, and hoping service was just a one-off since it was the first night of the candlelight concerts. We will give it another chance! read more

We were here on mothers day For brunch in the front lobby restaurant. The atmosphere was beautiful. Only half the tables were full and the service was poor. Our meals were brought separately 20 minutes apart. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and finally walked to the bar to get our own. There were 2 employees standing behind the empty bar doing nothing (just chatting) never even looked up. I hope this was an unusual experience, I really want this beautiful place with such rich history to be successful. read more

Gorgeous place, incredible dinner! I walk by the Granada Theater frequently and had been wondering if their Uptown Lobby restaurant was for events only or open to anyone. Finally ventured in and yes indeed, the lobby features a small, stunning restaurant with a great menu. Two friends and I ordered cocktails (delicious), the cauliflower to share, a vegan bowl and two (Impossible) burgers with fries and side salad. Everything was so, so yum and reasonably priced. The service was friendly, funny and warm, and so is Chris, the chef who whips up everything from scratch. Don't be like me and think this place is events-only. Walk on in and have a lovely meal. This bar was a complete stumble upon. And my goodness, what a wonderful place. The bartender, Olivia, made the experience ten times better than I could imagine. As short term visitors, she recommended amazing drinks, local hot spots, and even let us check out the theatre that was recently renovated with respect to the history of the building. This is a review of restaurant week. Our overall experience was quite nice. The ambiance with the historic theater and it's influence really adds to a special feeling. Also, the restaurant and bar is set up nicely to take advantage of the indoor/outdoor setting which is wonderful on a nice evening. The space is not large but comfortable and cozy. Just the right size for a nice theater lobby bar/restaurant. The restaurant week menu was varied and gave a pretty good overview of the Spanish-influenced offerings. It was a "tasting" size menu but appropriate for what it was. We tried to sample several different choices from the offerings with some being enjoyed more than others. If I had to criticize anything in regards to the food it would be nitpicking. Overall, it was great and quite tasty. I don't know if all the things we had are on the regular menu, but the pork and beans should be! It was fabulous. Paella was tasty and provided great entertainment to me as I watched my son tackle the shrimp with the eyes that kept staring at him (he's not known for his adventurous eating). Staff was very pleasant and provided good service. A musician played for part of our time and he was thoroughly enjoyable. Our evening turned into more of an event than just a meal out which is definitely preferred. At the end of the day, I enjoyed it enough to say I'd return for both food and the atmosphere. read more
