Tucked away in a shopping center right behind Stats and this place is a jewel! A family owned fresh seafood market that also offers fried seafood platters and tenders. The staff here is very welcoming, there is plenty of parking on surface lot. They have daily specials, I've attached a sample of their menu on this review. I really want to like this place and give it a chance but I've eaten here twice and the fired fish and even shrimp is way too salty. Don't think of adding any salt. Being that they were black and family owned, I decided to check them out! I went on a Saturday afternoon (4/5pm) and it was. 25/35 min wait. I hope this was because of the recent spotlight. Having to wait 25/35 mins on every occasion can quickly become a problem. The food was good but rhey played it a little too safe on the seasonings. On the French fries (and you can see this on the picture) some of the fries has seasoning salt and other fries do not. I think they should have a bottle of seasoning salt on the counter so for those who want to up the seasoning a notch can have the option to do so. As busy as they were, the company was friendly, respectful, and gave smiles as they took the order and updated the guest on their wait times. The price was a bit pricey for a seafood take out meal ($17.95 with tax, preparation fee, credit card fee, meal came to around $20.00) all that to say, this ain't something I would do several times a week, but a good treat from time to time is very much worth it. I am on a journey of not eating meat but still eating seafood. Craving some fish decided to try this place after remembering I saw a review on them on Instagram. I got there a little before 5pm. I was greeted immediately. He was polite and explained thoroughly about what my choices were for ordering catfish. I got the 2 pieces of catfish and a slice of red velvet cake which was made by Cosmic Cookie Bakery. He said it would be 10 minutes so I went to the pharmacy. I came back about 12 minutes later and it was ready and piping hot. I didn't eat it until I got home. It was fried to perfection. He did tell me that they cook the fish crispy and I was like okay. It was crisp but not crunchy thank goodness. And the 2 pieces of fish once cut made 4 pieces total which my husband shared. Now if hungry you it's enough for you but not to share. Now the cake that obviously they outsource from Cosmic Cookie Bakery so basically it was okay cream cheese frosting a tad to sweet no complaints but I would probably do sweet potato pie next time. They are a fish market that sell fresh fish and prepare fresh fish on the spot. I inquired about having the porgy fish fried on the spot and I was told that they do not fry the fresh porgy. They told me that they fry the catfish, croaker, flounder and whiting but not the porgy. I asked for an explanation and was told it's a difficult fish to fry. WTH??? No it's not! You prepare it the same way you would do the croaker or catfish and simply submerged in the hot grease, Just like you would do any other fish that you fry. I recently visited the Charlotte area. I am a seafood lover and so I was searching out a good seafood place. Lo and behold not more than a mile from where I was staying, I found Bryant seafood market. The menu is somewhat limited, but definitely adequate. I placed my order for the seafood platter, which contained my choice of fish, shrimp, fried and Cole slaw. I also ordered three platters and I'm here to tell you that there was enough seafood in one platter to serve all three of us! We all opted for the whiting fish and it did not disappoint. I actually would prefer that the fish was fried maybe a minute longer but the flavor was there. The shrimp were large plump and delicious. The coleslaw that accompanied the platter was really good. It had a better taste than what other establishments serve IMHO and the fries were fine but they too could have stayed in the oil a minute longer. The service was good but I thought perhaps there should have been one more person up front because after all the business was booming. Located beside the old Jason's Deli in the Davis Lake area, this seafood market sells fresh seafood at really good prices and also has a small cooked food menu. I couldn't wait to try them so I ran over for lunch to try the salmon burger with fries and hushpuppies. It came with lettuce, tomato and a sauce I can't remember the name of but it was really good on the sandwich and with the fries. I also tried a side of shrimp on a different visit and it was really good as well. The bun was super soft and the salmon was absolutely delicious. I've been a few times since my first visit and each time the food was fresh and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. My usual order is the fried whiting fish sandwich with a side of fries. I finally found a locally owned seafood spot that is MOM APPROVED!!! Every time my Mom comes to visit, she wants some good seafood. Bryant Seafood is the answer; we LOVED IT.
