The owner was not at the market, so there was no explanation for allowing the customer in while it was closed. If they were closed, the open Sign should have been off and the entrance locked.

I was a little nervous, but also excited--and Pete made the whole process easy. He was very pleasant to talk to. I learned that branzino isn't something they always keep in stock, so it's best to call ahead and order. While I was there, I also picked up thyme, rosemary, lemon, red onions, regular onions, and honey, which saved me a trip to the grocery store. The shop was very clean and didn't have that strong fishy smell, which I liked. I was greeted right away, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great shopping experience. I picked up the crabmeat ($180+) and returned home to make the crabcakes. The sell by date on the container was prior to my purchase and I was very concerned about serving seafood that had an expired sell by date. I called Mike and he argued with me. He said I should smell the crabmeat and if it did not smell right, to call him. Also, the crabmeat was not jumbo lump to which he replied that was all that was available in the market. I called Saltmarket and they were fabulous. They were able to get actual Jumbo Lump crabmeat for me that was fresh. I lost over $180 to avoid the possibility of giving our guests food poisoning. If you buy from Lucky Fish, buyer beware. Check the sell by date and also ensure you are getting what you ordered.

I am furious and deeply disappointed with how I was treated during my most recent visit. After…read moreyears of shopping here every single week, I was accused yes, accused! of stealing my own daughter's juice bottle that I brought in from the car. The cashier didn't ask kindly, didn't clarify, just immediately assumed the worst and treated me with blatant disrespect in front of my children. To make matters even more infuriating, my elderly mother who was just trying to help separate our groceries had a plastic divider thrown at her by the cashier, who barked, "If you aren't paying for the other customer's groceries, you need to put that down." Excuse me?? Who talks to anyone, let alone a senior, like that? The entire transaction was hostile, uncomfortable, and humiliating. I was shaken, my daughter was upset, and it was clear this employee had no interest in basic decency or customer service. To top it all off and I wish this was an exaggeration multiple items in the produce section had visible MOLD. I originally wasn't going to say anything I was just going to assume maybe it was a bad time to shop and they just maybe didn't change things over but I started looking around and wondering, how many others have been mistreated...It feels like this place is completely falling apart in so many ways. We used to know this store so well I could list off prices without looking. But I'll gladly save myself the extra out of the way 15-minute drive now and head to Super G Mart where there's better variety, better prices, respectful staff, and an amazing bakery and hot food section. This place? It's become a complete and utter disgrace. I'm never coming back. Ever.

I noticed they even had a lot of Filipino items tons of different hot, sauces, and chilies and just a lot of good stuff tons of options they even sold beer and saki, which I thought was pretty cool. The cashiers were even pretty friendly. They do have a club membership deal kind of like most of our major grocery stores in the area so you can get discounts on future purchases. It was cool. I'll definitely go back.
