Everything was outstanding. The flounder and shrimp were fried to perfection--crispy on the outside, light and flaky on the inside, and not greasy at all. The sides were just as memorable. The collard greens were tender and full of flavor, and the mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy--exactly what you'd hope to find at a great church potluck. The restaurant has a quaint, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff couldn't have been sweeter. Great food, friendly service, and a cozy setting made for a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be back. I ordered the fried croaker sandwich and instead of french fries I subbed it for coleslaw and lemonade to wash it down with. The croaker was fried perfectly!! I haven't had fish fried for me like that in a while and it was delicious. I ate every bite! The coleslaw was freshly made, and the lemonade was sweet to taste. There are some things Annies needs to figure out, but overall it was a good dining experience. The parking lot was crowded and it was tricky finding a space, but we managed to do so. The place itself is laid out like a typical diner, but you place your order before you sit down. So you don't really get the opportunity to sit and read through the menu at a relaxed pace. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have unsweet tea, but my daughter was able get sweet tea. However they were out of lemon which made it a small bummer as that affected both the tea and the fish we ordered. So those were the mildly annoying issues we encountered, but the food itself, not to mention outstanding service, was the saving grace. My daughter and I both ordered the flounder catch of the week. We were given huge portions and actually had to box some of it up. I also had onion rings and they were super crispy and not greasy at all. I had some collards, too, and they seemed super fresh. Finally we got some hush puppies. You know hush puppies are awesome when bite into one and you involuntarily say "yum." In conclusion there are some definite opportunities for improvement, but the food is good enough for us to want to come back. read more

Funny story, my mother in law was at a coffee shop here and spoke to the owner about her thanksgiving plans and she mentioned getting food from Annie's. That was enough for us to say, we must try it!
