Recommend Fairyland Loop for stunning views and fewer hikers, sunset point for sunrise (trust me) straight into the Queen's Garden to avoid crowds, and Bryce Point for sunset. Bathroom was clean, metal picnic tables. Quick drive to Sunrise/Sunset Points, I know the FCFS (first come first serve) tent only spots are closer, but I liked the certainty and peace of mind of a reserved spot.

After I saw both campgrounds, I recommend North campground. We reversed at Sunset but ended up getting a spot at North because it was close proximity to the rim, 1min! Also, close to the general store, which has firewoods, and camp gears and shower. Shower is $3 for 8mins. Last shower is at 4:30pm. Usually campgrounds shower is like warm but here shower gets hot! From Sunset, you have a little more walk and cross the road to go to the rim. And campgrounds were a little tighter than North. So we decided to dump $20 and get a site at North campground. Take the Loop D. It's the closest to the sunrise point. My kids and I went every morning to see the sunrise diuring our 3day-stay here. Just wake up and walk a min! In the Loop D, the best sites are 81 and 83, because their tent spots are very flat, and a little more secluded pluscloser to the rim. We stayed at 99. It's a little slant, but not a bad one. We liked it. Overall, Loop D has good camp sites. This is first come first served, so if you want a spot, it's better to come around or even before 11:30am whichj is checkout time. People even leave earlier like 9am so if you really want good spots, come early. We stayed on August 6, 7, 8, 9 (Thurs-Sun) and surprisingly, there was still empty spots during weekends. I'm glad that we came a little far To Bryce than Sequoia/Yosemite which is closer to our home in LA.

We loved the shuttle! With a park pass, you can ride it free. The shuttle stops at all the main sights within the canyon as well as the campgrounds & lodge. It also stops several places within the town. The RV sights were spacious with beautiful views. Trees in every space. They also offer tent camping & teepees. The community showers are locked with a code needed to enter as well as some of the restrooms. All were very clean & smelled good. The campgrounds also have a shuttle service that will take you to places on & off the campgrounds. They offer a reasonably priced laundry with needed supplies for purchase. The room was very clean & well kept. The dryers take quarters or electronic payments. Ruby's is more than just an Rv park with many activities & things to do. There is a cowboy town with ice cream & cookies. A general store with souvenirs as well as a good selection of groceries. We went to Ebeneezer Barn & Grill in the evening. The food was surprisingly good & we watched a Bluegrass band. I highly recommend this as a vacation spot for families!

There are a few things that give me an indication of a well-run park. 1) Friendly caring staff 2) clean well-manicured RV sites and 3) The facilities are clean, well-ventilated, i.e. smell fresh and operational. Henries Hitch n Post excels on all 3! If these items are in order, you can pretty much expect the hook-ups are in order as well and they were. A note. As far as facilities are operational goes, if the park has a laundry facility my experience is there tends to be some "out of order" machines the majority of the time. Not here! The laundry room has over 10 machines and 10 dryers (didn't count) and everyone one is operational. Wow! First rate. As for the human touch, its amazing. Our short stay turned into an unanticipated longer stay due to a family emergency. Immediately the managers Ed and Beth were on top of things to assist in helping me. The emergency required some family help and Ed and Beth made sure they could stay on site so we could be close together. My instructions from them were take what time you need to address your situation and don't worry about other things we got you. This amazing hospitality and concern for us was such a big help. I told friends and family about this and a common comment is small town hospitality. Yes, probably some of that but it's mainly Ed and Beth. That's the type of people they are. Warm, caring and sincere with big hearts.

Super nice. This year my puppy got really sick. I think it started at home. Beth made her a huge pot of bone broth. A cure for everything, and it worked. I love dispersed camping. And I believe here at Tom's Best Dispersed, it's one of the better public…read moreland areas you'll find in all the USA. Reason why? Because...it's located just 10 miles from the entrance to Bryce Canyon. And...Bryce Canyon is one of the most awe-inspiring National Parks in the United States! That's a fact, lol. I mean...who doesn't love looking at hoodoos??? (which is what makes Bryce so distinct) Yes, well, here at Tom's Best Dispersed Campground (since it is dispersed camping land)...it's free of charge. All you have to do is show up, pick a spot or section that appeals to you, park your car/camper/RV and then set up your outdoor/tent accommodations for the evening. In a way, dispersed camping is like choosing your own adventure. There are no hassles. There's always enough room for everyone. You can really connect with the lay of the land and nature and feel far removed from everyday realities. Upon arriving, I didn't even need to drive far along Toms Best Spring Road (FR-117) to instantly discover a cozy little area underneath some trees that I connected with. Maybe I drove 1/2 a mile off Utah's primary Scenic 12 Byway. Let me give some details about spending the night... - First off was the sunset! What a terrific way to end a fulfilling day of hiking at Bryce to then watch the sun go down while it illuminated the sky in orange. Then once completely dark, the stars at night were visible making for a terrific setting. - Cell phone reception worked well so I had a chance to catch up with what was going on in the world. - The road leading into the dispersed campground was gravel but more than suitable for any sized RV to drive upon. - Hardly anyone was camping out during the prime summer visiting season. - There were two vault toilets located across the street from Utah Byway 12. - I used the app on my phone called Campendium to locate Tom's Best and appreciated reading how worthwhile of a campground this place was from all the reviews. Lastly, I know adding a business to Yelp such as this Tom's Best Spring Dispersed Camping won't get notice out there. So then, why would I take the time to write this review? Truth is...it was a part of my journey towards enjoying what I like to do. I guess, in the end, it's nice to talk about places that conjure up fond memories.

Bryce National Park is beyond beautiful…read more The park has many walking trails along the rim as well as down in the canyon trails. Summer time can be a bit hot, average around 90* F. Bring plenty of fluids and be sure to have some healthy food before embarking on the trails Parking is very limited before 12pm. Utah is an hour ahead of NV and AZ. Be sure to pay attention. Park Rangers are available at all times. EMT are also on stand by. Take care and safety first. Stay 20ft back from the edge, no safety railings. Definitely worth every mile driven. One of the many places on my list to see was Bryce Canyon National Park. I wanted to see the red rock canyons and formations. The skies were blue. The temps were hot but thankfully the soft breeze cooled it down a little. There were groups of people taking the canyon trails down into the valley. We weren't feeling that adventurous and we had our American Akita with us so it was a no go. The views were exceptional. The rock formations were really cool. We drove in and out of several areas of the park to check out the park and red rock from different angles. It was pretty cool. The visitor center was informative too. Highly recommend!

Mossy Cave Trail is outside the fee area for Bryce Canyon Canyon National Park, and I'm not sure if…read morethe rangers check if you've paid. Anyways, I have an annual pass so I didn't worry about it. This is one of the lowest elevation hikes in the park as well as one of the only hikes that begins with a climb and ends with a descent, so if you're not sure about your endurance and want an easy, safe hike where you won't get stuck, this hike is for you! You can see hoodoos, and also Tropic Ditch Falls. It's not a waterfall in the usual sense, as it's a result of a man-made canal that diverted water from East Fork of the Sevier River to Bryce Canyon. I would say that the view was....ok. The trail also leads you to Mossy Cave, which isn't a cave but a sheltered overhang. I was in the season where there wasn't any moss, nor any icicles. It was pretty cold temperature-wise in the grotto. This is a low-effort, low reward type of hike, which is ok. In comparison to the beautiful views that you can get in the scenic drive inside the park, I would say skip this trail if you're short on time and wanting views.

There are a couple NP potties there (no running water). There wasn't much water the day I came, you could see a trickle of the waterfall but it wasn't particularly exciting. Depending on the time of year, that can change. Overall, I wouldn't have spent time doing this hike if I hadn't been passing by it (but I was, on my way to Capitol Reef). But if you are passing, it's a nice walk with a little hill :)

This was possibly one of the longest and strenuous hikes in Bryce Canyon National Park. Starting the trail clockwise; trail was mostly flat on the Rim Trail overlooking the canyons. There were more inclines and declines on the Fairyland Trail (the second half of the loop). Stunning views from beginning to end! Roughly ~15 car parking lot at the Fairyland Loop Trailhead (North). No restrooms at this location. A different part of the Fairyland Loop Trail can be accessed from the North Campground vicinity. Probably one of the most unprofessional trail rides my family has ever been on. And this is coming…read morefrom somebody who has worked with horses for 25+ years. The "guide" in the back was horrible and treated his horse like garbage all in attempt to "show off" which he did horribly. He actually fell off at one point because he decided to STAND UP on the horse like he was practicing for the circus. The "guide" in the front only payed attention to the college girls behind him. Also, the way they advertise. It is totally misleading. You only got about a five minute view of the rim. The rest of the ride was through the Pines, and the only good views you got were of the guide, making a fool of himself. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT A GOOD TRAIL RIDE.

So my son has been itching to ride ATVs for the longest time. Due to his not having a license or…read morecosts, we just were not able to pull it off. He got to do it finally at scout camp, and has been wanting to go again now that he is of age and has a license. While here on vacation, American ATV Rentals fit our needs and the almost full day trip was quite the experience. Owners David and Tina were most professional and helpful with every step of our excursion. We had a lot of choices to make. First was what kind of vehicles were we going to use. They had the ATVs, 2 and 4-seaters, and some were meant for those over 200lbs which we all needed (slight extra charge for that). We also had to decide what length of "tour" we wanted. We had three drivers and four people, so we went with a two-seater and two ATVs all with the upgraded suspension for the weight. We then chose the 4 hour tour which for most should be the right amount of time for the 44 or so mile loop or back and forth from just about the midpoint. The course was explained and different points of interest and also points of reference to not get lost. I'm glad my wife was our guide on this trip! Next was the safety equipment. We were all provided with helmets and goggles all of which fit well and snug over glasses without any problems. They also provide gloves. All must be worn 100% of the time you're riding or else. They also will provide backpacks and bungee cords. They sell water if needed. We then went outside and got acquainted with our vehicles. How to start them, put in gear, brakes, and rules of the road. We were then on our way! David brought us to a point, gave a more detailed explanation of the course and what to look for. Only at the time we left did our "4-hour tour" time start. We were expected at the end to top off all gas tanks (high grade fuel only) and come back to the business. The trip along so many different views and geological points was awesome. And then almost right at the start I rolled my machine on the side. The gas tank cover came off and I was spilling fuel. Thankfully I wasn't seriously hurt and got up quickly to put it back on four wheels. It drove just fine and I didn't have a flat. I just had some brush burn and a small cut on my elbow. The other negative was just past the 3/4 mark. My son's ATV just stopped and would not move in gear. It revved up but would not engage in gear forward or backward. We ended up pulling out the tow strap on the two-seater and towed it in neutral the final few miles. I had to apologize to my kid for all the dust. You are allowed to stop anywhere for pictures and if you want a souvenir you can take it as you're not in the State park. We did not see any others on our whole route...just some cows. We finally made it to the gas station almost next door to the ATV business, topped off the tanks, and made it back. I was pleased as punch that the ATV I rolled made it back. My wife and I changed at the midpoint so I drove and eventually towed the broken ATV in the two seater, and my wife drove the rolled ATV. Once back (about 25 minutes late due to the issues) I explained our problems on the trip and David was understanding. I did have to pay a 20% depreciation cost for the damage I caused to the ATV. We weren't charged for the issue with the other ATV. This was within the contract we signed and waivers. It was less than I expected, and we just made it work. Overall, my whole family had a great time driving even with the issues we experienced. Some pointers I highly recommend: wear long sleeves, pants, and boots (not sneakers). You will get very dusty. Bring a lot of water and maybe snacks or sandwiches. Remember, however, time stopped does not extend your tour time. The sun beats down and you will get sunburned. There's very little shaded areas. We were told when we asked that the routes we took were classified as mostly beginner to some intermediate level driving. 25mph maximum based on Utah laws, but you're not doing that on these trails. My family and I highly recommend American ATV Rentals for a fun time. It's not cheap, but it was worth the experience! $1000 for the two ATVs and two seater for a four hour tour, safety review, map review, and you have to gas them up before returning them with premium fuel. I also paid a bonus $175 for the 20% of depreciation costs of the damaged parts. Oh well. The shower once we got home and two Tylenol was awesome.
