Brywood just located at entrance of the rocky mountain national park. It is just less than two miles from the entrance. It is also close the City of Este Park. It is good location for the national park visit and restaurant in the Este Park. The building is good. However the room feature seems like lack of maintenance or renovation. The basic of the hotel is provided. I like the quilt blanket. The decoration is rustic design. Water heating needs to be more consistent. Heat is not even. The time we visit the pool and hot tub is under repair. I am not able to give them an assessment. The office close after 7 pm. They do have emergency number. If you need anything from office, get it done early. read more

Just spent a couple days at Brynwood by the River in Cabin #24 known as Zimmer Frei. It was disgusting !!!! Don't believe that it had been cleaned this year. Tried to remove the ring in the bath tub ourselves without any luck. We had to call the office every day for clean towels and trash removal. The bed spread smelled like, well to be frank it smelled like a**. The dust and dirt were thick everywhere. The frames for the screens on the windows were broken. After seeing the shape of the cabin, we didn't use the hot tub. They have a NO REFUND policy, so with the price we paid to stay, we were pretty much trapped there. Will not go back. read more

We arrived at 2:30 knowing that check-in technically was at 3:30 p.m. A sign at the door indicated they would be back at 3 p.m. I came in the office shortly after 3 p.m. to check-in. I mentioned that it would have been nice if the paperwork or website would have indicated that the office is closed for part of the day. The staff person stated that "don't I deserve a lunch". I later found out that they close the office every day from 1-3 p.m. I said it isn't a problem if only I knew in advance that you don't allow early check-ins. The office person once again complained about deserving a lunch and said that I was lucky he was allowing me to check-in at 3 p.m. because he could make me wait until 3:30 p.m. The sign on the door says office hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and "Closed mid-day for lunch". I asked if he would be willing to tell management to post the real hours online along with "no early check-ins" online and in the paperwork sent to avoid the mis-communication. The staff person wasn't happy with me and told me that he won't tell management. I don't mind different rules for a one person office. I just asked questions and then asked why don't they put this information on their website or at least in the information sent to people after they reserve a room. We really looked forward to using the outside hot tub after hiking which was a big reason we picked Brynwood over other options. We went to the pool to use the hot tub and found it empty and in obvious need of repair. Once again, I wonder why they didn't have this listed on the website. The info sheet they passed out also had one whole section of hot tub rules. The motel room in the main building had a musty smell to it. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan and the ceiling had colored spots and even black spots on it indicating that it was getting moldy from guests showering without an exhaust fan. I could have overlooked this, but with all of the other poor communication explained above that I would never recommend staying here to anyone. read more

This is for the motel portion, the Glacier Lily room: It was good for a bed to sleep in and that's about it. The bathroom window could be seen through from the outside, it smelled like cigarettes in the room and the shower had mildew in it, and the shower mat for inside the shower had mildew on it too. read more

We stayed at the Elk Ridge house that is rented by Brynwood on the River. It was a mile and a half from the resort itself, but it was a beautiful A-frame home with 4 decent-sized bedrooms. The house had minimal accommodations, but we were hosting a celebration of life, so we came very prepared with necessary items. There is a full kitchen (complete with many kitchen necessities like silverware, dishes, cups/glasses, pots and pans, and they now have two baking sheets). There are two bathrooms, six beds, and space for more people to sleep (e.g., there is a loft with nothing in it but multiple electrical outlets). The beds were nothing fancy (no pillowtops) but they were great for my back (which can be finicky on too-soft mattresses). There is a loft with a skinny spiral staircase...but it was very doable for us, and we are not tiny (slender) people! The other bedrooms are on the main floor. One was very small (the bed took up most of the room), the second single full bed was in a slightly larger room, and the third bedroom had two beds with space for a third mattress if needed (it is a huge bedroom!). The last, (the loft) has two full beds with access to the large empty loft. They do have some interesting pricing (e.g., while they have six beds, only four people can sleep in the house...any extra guests have to pay $10/night). And it wasn't cheap. In the height of summer season, it cost us about $1400 for the three nights. With that said, it was a great location, quiet, there was plenty of space, and we'd probably return if we needed that much house space while staying in Estes again. It is a nice place for a group to rent together. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and were very comfortable. read more

We stayed here during our stay in Estes Park. What a cute place! The location was great, not too far from the center of town and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The proximity to the river was very picturesque. The cabin itself had a fireplace, kitchen, king size bed, dining table and bath. The bath was a bit small, but it wasn't that big of an issue for us. The bed was comfortable and the convenience of having a kitchen was great! The front desk/reception was incredibly friendly and helpful. If I find myself back this way again, I'd definitely stay here! read more

We were camping in Moraine Park (part of the Rocky Mtn National Park) at the end of April when a huge snow storm hit and we decided to stay overnight at Brynwood on the River. While 8 or so inches fell overnight we sleep comfortably in a warm bed. The room was clean. There was plenty of hot water. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The exit for the complex was plowed and relatively clear by 8am. read more

For the price they offer, the room is decent. It is clean but outdated. There is no hair dryer provided but there is a kitchenette with dish or direct cable. You do have to wash dishes before you leave and the a/c unit in the wall will need to be plugged with a towel so outside air doesn't come in. The toilet doesn't flush well... but if you are looking for a cheaper place to stay that is clean with okay beds then this is your place. However, the office people make it very clear no pets and no smoking (of anything, they insist). read more

When the tourists leave town and the weather turns cold, we head to Estes Park to enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park. For a special occasion, we spent the weekend at Brynwood On the River in the Rock n' River themed cabin. The husband is an avid fisherman and I chose this theme for a weekend get away. Although fishing was slow, the husband could sit in our private hot tub and fish from the porch. These are nice, fully equipped cabins and each one has a different theme. They are situated to provide ultimate privacy (especially in off season). And off season is when the prices drop by up to $100.00 a night. They become even more reasonable if you ask another couple for a weekend of cross country skiing and split the price. To us, there is nothing better than to come home to our own cabin, a roaring fire, and a home cooked meal after a long day in the Park. read more

This was the worst stay I've ever had anywhere. Stayed in the Elk Ridge house. Cute from the outside, beautiful view. But let's talk about the inside. We get there, there's dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the cabinet, had to scrub each dish before using it. Then, the power goes out in half the house. The heater wasn't working, so we all were freezing. The bathroom had nice towels, but the shower is falling apart. Now imagine paying $320 for this for one night stay. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the African Safari cabin. The staff was nice, we had new towels and coffee daily. Our cabin was a little small. The front room which you would think would have a sitting area didn't, it has a bed and then there is another room with a bed as well. So if you have kids they hang out in your bed to watch tv in the evening before bed since there's no couch or anything to sit on. The other bed is the only thing that fit in that room. No room for a playpen so we had the playpen in the small area by the bed in the front room. I would highly recommend they put blackout curtains on the windows. Sun comes up super early which meant our one year old was waking up at 6am daily. Hello sun! Location is amazing. It was quiet. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park so you didn't have to drive through downtown. Yet it was still convenient to get to downtown. The pool was nice but even as a heated pool it was still chilly because it's outside so we didn't stay in it long. read more

Flat screen T.V. Full equipped kitchen, frig, oven, microwave oven, coffee maker. Deck with BBQ grill and picnic table. Wood burning fireplace. Your very comfortable and feeling as if your in your own home.. Love the location. On the river, On site wildlife, such as Elk and mule deer. Would recommend it to all.. Reasonable prices. A refreshing change awaited us at our favorite place to stay in Estes Park. We just stayed there for a week and the owners/managers could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We have long loved the Brynwood and now love it more than ever. They have instituted a few policy changes that I think most, if not all, guests will really appreciate. Check them out. Our stay at Brynwood couldn't have been more perfect! Our cabin was sparkling clean, with all the amenities one could expect in a great b & b. The pool and hot tub were perfectly situated, and warmed to the best temp. The location couldn't have been more perfect, located on the "quiet" side of Estes Park, with a great coffee shop, barbecue restaurant, and breakfast place all within walking distance. Without a doubt, the greatest difference between our accommodations and those other comparable locations, was the staff. Everything we needed, all the information we wanted, and any and all "extras" such as pillows, towels, fans, etc were quickly and cheerfully provided. The assistant manager, Bri, went above and beyond to assist us in every way, and we feel she deserves a special acknowledgment for all she did to make our time there memorable! We will look forward to returning in the future, and will recommend to all of our friends and family! read more

Terrible service. We stayed for three nights and on two days no one came to service our room. The individuals at the front office were always on the computer and seldom looked up to speak with us. They had no knowledge about local services such as the town shuttle. No one seemed interested in correcting their mistakes.
