Kali appears very patient yet talented (as you can see from her portfolio). She also comes off as very flexible - we particularly liked one of the photos (which has a vintage treatment). She explained to us that although she had not done an entire wedding in that style, she could and it's also her preferred style. In addition, when we share with her our ceremony location, she told us she had taken photos there (which is not a must have but a definite plus). She says she will send them to us for review. All in all, Kali seems very easy going and flexible. After speaking to a few photographers, we realize that it's not just about picking talents but also personality that somehow can work with ours since you must feel comfortable working with them on arguably the most important day of your life! My one complaint is that some of my photographers have had a complete lack of communication on getting my photos to me.. or at all.. i've had to hunt down two photographers who didn't know how to even contact me. Portrait slam releases headshots with everyone's contact information on it, which is smart in keeping the right communication. I think the photographers maybe did not care as much about certain photos they took as much as others. Having to reach out and ask if they even have my photos is upsetting considering I paid to do this slam. Other than that, Portrait slam itself is not responsible for the photographers communication abilities. they host wonderful slams with Decor, furniture, a beautiful venue, costumes, and jewelry.
