The Board - who essentially runs all aspects of the club - is easily the most disorganized, inept bunch I have every encountered. They have no business running a kids organization because the kids are not at the top of their list of concerns. First, adopt technology people. They start the registration process over from scratch every year. So you basically have to see one of those signs along the road to know that it is registration time. Would it be too much to keep the info each year and store it in a database for use in future years? Or what about a newsletter? Or email updates throughout the year? All that would be too much work and require too much organization for this group. Furthermore, want to talk to someone by phone to get information? Good luck. Hoping for current, useful information on the website? Fat chance. They have their little clique and take care of their own. Everyone else is on their own - including my five-year-old son who wanted to play. We missed the signup due to a family emergency. Was I ever able to get a hold of someone to find out what our options were? NO. In my numerous emails and voicemails I offered to coach and assist in anyway I could in order for him to play. Or to even get him on a wait list - if they even offered one. Do you think I ever got a call back or a return email? NOPE. And we're talking over a period of three-plus months. NO CONTACT AT ALL. Their poor communication and lack of organization is unacceptable. They have no sense of customer service or what it means to run a business. The club services a lot of kids and families in the area and they deserve much better. Until someone starts a separate club in Southport, we'll go to Land Park or another area close by.

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because again due to budget cuts they could not mow the lawn on a weekly basis. That made playing out field really hard!

We looked for a team that fit me him as much as him fitting the team. We looked into SSC and we were impressed, but of course you really need to go experience something before you can truly say what you think. My son as been with SSC for almost two years playing travel ball and taking lessons here and there. The price is very reasonable with the coaching you receive, the staff is professional, the facility is clean and just the right size. I would look into SSC if you are thinking about your son playing travel ball, or taking private lessons. Ask a lot of questions as the coaches will spend the time to make sure you feel comfortable.

I took my 5 year old son into a drop in training at Isabelle Jackson location . I know the training…read moreis a 6 week program but since there was drop ins I thought it was a kind of like a at your pace work on what needs to be worked on type training boy was I wrong . My son started and was so happy free throwing to the hoop and than the coach started blowing his whistle commanding things . Mind you my sons first time he's five he barely learning left from right and he was screamed at to use his other hand and when he lose his ball the coach would scream for him to run after it . I get it structure is what kids need but if it's something where he should have started form the beginning of the training and not be a drip in they should turn people away . I wasted 25 dollars for 10 mins of the intense " training " my son left in tears . There's a difference in coaching and being stern and coaching and just basically putting down kids . It was an awful experience and really discouraged my son !
