In the summer, they host food trucks on the last Friday of the month, which is always a treat. The park has lots of shady areas, two playgrounds (one for bigger kids and a smaller one for toddlers), and a track for walking or running. You'll also find fields for soccer, volleyball, and baseball, plus BBQ areas you can reserve. The neighborhood is safe and very family-friendly. One of the best parts is the public swimming pool that opens during the summer. They charge $3 or $4 per person, which is very reasonable. Just a heads-up--this year, they're only accepting cash at the pool. It would be helpful if they posted a sign in the parking lot to let families know. I've seen a few frustrated parents who had to unload all the kids and gear, only to find out inside that they couldn't pay with card. Despite that hiccup, it's a wonderful park for families and we're grateful to have it nearby!

It's between 59th and 61st St going east and west and between 8th and 11th Ave going north and south, and it is almost 18 acres big according to the City's website. There are soccer fields, a baseball diamond, a full basketball court, a smaller but adequate kids playground, 2 actually, one bigger, and one for smaller kids. In the summer time, the swimming pools will be open, so that's a great facility for hot weather fun. There is also a big gazebo with tables and seating on the side closest to where we saw kids playing soccer. We hung out closer to the picnic table area since we were grilling up some burgers and hotdogs, and there were several picnic tables to sit at and plenty of room. Although that area isn't very shaded. Our church reserved the tables, but it wasn't at the gazebo so it was a bit hotter where we were picnicking, but since it was so windy that day, it wasn't hot at all. It was the perfect day for flying kites so the kids did that for quite some time. Super fun for them to try to figure out how to get the kites to catch the wind and keep afloat. There's a set of bathrooms near the playground but I didn't use them so I don't know if they were clean or not. All in all, this is a nice park that I've just never been to, guess I keep frequenting the same ones that are familiar to me, but this is an underrated park and it's in a safe residential area, so it's a great place for a BBQ or a picnic or a party. I'm sure we'll be back.

First, I went to the women's bathroom stall and it was dark inside with no lighting and wet all over the ground. It was slightly dirty, though, the outside pink building was beautiful. Thankfully, the event offered porta-potties, which were much cleaner than the actual bathroom stall. Most parks offer complimentary parking. This park charges for parking and the rates are as follows: $2.00 per hour or $7.00 for an all-day pass. The park provides a big pond area with a good handful of ducks. There is also a playground available for children's leisure and entertainment. Lastly, there are "exercise stations" placed throughout the park, which encourage more physical activity. Overall, it was a peaceful, beautiful, and spacious park.

But it's a clean, shaded park with a small play structure and sandbox for kids to play in. They have a nice green lawn too which is fun for parties or picnics. One of the better parks to go to in the summer as there is a shade and lots of trees keeping it cooler than most parks. Parking can be a bit iffy as Folsom is a bo parking zone and 42nd St serves the residents who need to park so on busy days or events (like the holidays) it can be tough to find parking.

The open field has that peaceful golden-hour glow in the early evening, and the playground is clean and well maintained -- perfect for siblings to burn off energy while practice is happening. As the sun started setting around 6:30, it became clear there are no field lights, and it gets dark quickly. Also worth noting -- once dusk hits, the mosquitos definitely come out. We were swatting quite a bit by the end of practice. Another important thing to know: there are no restrooms or porta potties onsite, so plan ahead if you're bringing kids or staying for a while. Helpful tip: this is a great daytime park with a lovely playground, but aim for earlier hours and bring bug spray if you're staying into the evening. Update: They now have one porta potty near the playground which is usually very clean.

If an area is reserved you'll see signs up for the timing. When there are bigger events the parking nearby tends to fill up, but when there aren't events you can usually find plenty of free parking nearby. The park has a basketball court, baseball field, tennis courts, picnic tables, disc golf, a skate park, a nice playground and even a pool. There are paved paths and there are multiple areas that are great for entertaining groups, including a stage area. They pack a lot into a relatively small area and while there's a lot to do it won't take you long to walk around. While we were walking around a family was having a party and plenty of people were utilizing the different areas for sports. There were also some people walking their dogs, like us, but some people had their dogs off leash in some of the bigger areas. There wasn't a dog park area. it was beautiful while we were there and everything was clean and well kept.

There's an amazing playground, with areas for big kids and small kids, all themed after the amusement park that used to be here. There's also basketball, including a court for kids with a low net. There's a skate park, tennis, frisbee golf, and baseball too. And, they have a large lap pool, wading pool, and splash pad for the warmer months. All in all, this is an amazing park, especially for kids, but really for anyone!

To all you Star Wars fans, the force was with us that night. It's situated in a nice neighborhood and surrounded by some great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. I recently wandered by and saw a temporary art installation called Fremont Park Bloom. It was a pleasant and colorful addition to the park. It's a park with a lot to offer, even without any events. I love that there are so many trees in the area, so even when the sun is out there's a good amount of shade. I have now traded running for working out in the gym, but will try to get back into running for more cardio. The last time I ran here was July of 2025. I try to do at least 1 mile Everytime I'm here. I ran here today and not much has changed-which is good. I was still able to complete my usual route, but it is always hard to get back into running after more than half a year of non running. This park is great for tracking without any tools or apps. One whole lap around the park is just over a mile. Lots of locals walk/run around the park. There's also one basketball court, 2 tennis courts, 1 baseball field and lots of grass areas for groups to play sports. I've seen flag football, soccer, rugby, little league and just people doing sprints and back and Forth. There's also a playground for kids to enjoy, which I've seen in use Everytime I come here. Overall, a good park with lots of activity and generally safe. I can't wait to come back more when the weather warms up.
