Sonna, the owner, messaged me right away and asked for all of the details (measurements, type of glass, photos of window). After comparing prices and speaking to my roommates, we decided to go with BSM because they gave the best price ($260 for a double panel window - 44 in. x 38 in.). I messaged Sonna to ask if I can use their services. Sonna replied quickly and scheduled the service for the same day. Sonna informed me when the worker was on their way and when they were outside. Upon arrival, Sonna messaged me and asked me to pay a 50% deposit, which I sent via Zelle. The worker, Marvin (I believe that was his name?), was very respectful and friendly. He inspected the window and confirmed measurements. He informed me that the window I wanted had to be ordered through a company so he would need to come back and complete the job, which was totally fine with me. Sonna messaged me about two hours later informing me that Marvin would be back in 3 days to install the new window. Once again, Sonna messaged me to let me know that Marvin was on his way. Went through Yelp for a quote to replace an aluminum/glass entry for an apartment building I'm renovating. Got a response from BSM (not sure exactly who the person was that answered). The person scheduled an appointment with me at the site. Absolutely one showed up or communicated further. I messaged 30 minutes in, saying I was there and asking if they were on their way. No answer. I called the main number, went straight to voicemail. Gave up after another 40 min. and messaged to whoever might be on the other end that my drive to the site was an hour, and thanks to them, I wasted time and gasoline. But that person should have either not responded to my quote request (which included pictures) or contacted me to cancel the appointment they made, even if they'd need to make up some excuse. I'd rather they'd done that than put me through the trouble of a long commute and leave me waiting around for no one. No courtesy, no consideration. BSM disappeared into thin air. Upon completing the work, the owner requested the balance payment over the phone right away, although I hadn't seen it in person. I explained that I'd pay the balance on the same day after I could inspect it at night. However, the owner persisted and pressured me to pay immediately, even asking me to leave work to meet him during the day. This behavior is entirely unreasonable. Before making a payment, it's common sense to ensure that the job is completed to satisfaction. Wouldn't you agree? While they may have had negative experiences with past customers, I've also had issues with contractors who failed to address problems after receiving full payment. Paying the balance on the same day the work is completed should be acceptable and reasonable. The lady who helps and sets up appointment was really nice and tried to help.
