Good food for takeout! Prices are high but reasonably worth it. The wings are very large as well

Most food is good but fried fish is awful. Good, timely and friendly service. Great sauces.

The restaurant itself was small but from what I understand they are expanding. There are more than enough veggies to choose from. The owner was nice enough to let me taste a few things before actually ordering. I had the fried flounder which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. There was even homemade tartar sauce to complement the fish and it was so tasty. I couldn't really decide on the two veggies with the meal so I ended up choosing four. Best macaroni and cheese I have ever had. I have since been back twice and this is now my go to spot. It is so refreshing to have found a local spot to go to that is consistent each time. The owner and her employees are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I highly recommend.

Of the ten patrons inside when we arrived, they all seemed to know each other. Thankfully, this didn't sway us one way or the other. We sat near the door, and I asked the bartender to turn on the game, which she did. Turns out the game wasn't on that channel, but I didn't want to disturb her conversation with the locals. Our waitress mentioned she was fairly new. She was attentive but kept forgetting things. I ordered the "must-have" Bessemer City Buzzard on a Stick, which is about half of a chicken breast seasoned and baked on a stick. The chicken wasn't as dry as I expected, but it also lacked flavor, and I had to pay $1 for sweet chili sauce to dip it in (3/5). The corn nuggets were nice and hot, and I enjoyed them (5/5). Note: I saw a couple of references to "redneck" while visiting, and I would characterize this place as a local redneck hangout.

It is typically loud in this establishment and when you call in an order during the afternoon or evening, you have to speak loud over the phone so they can hear you. I have ordered from them several times, but the wings are pretty pricey, so I don't go that much. However, they do offer wing discounts two days out the week. . Lastly, I really like their salads too!

In the pursuit of excellence, one must often look past the surface to find the substance. At…read moreChex's, the surface is undeniably polished. The establishment boasts an aesthetically chic interior, anchored by "marble" tables that, while regrettably small, contribute to an atmosphere of modern cleanliness. This commitment to hygiene is not merely a feeling; it is a matter of public record, as evidenced by their impeccable 100.0 sanitation rating. However, a critic knows that a clean house does not always guarantee a feast. The kitchen was manned by a skeleton crew of only two workers, while a third handled the front register--a staffing reality that telegraphed an inevitable wait from the moment of entry. While waiting, my gaze was frequently drawn to the refrigerator behind the counter, where large, tempting slices of red velvet cake stood like alluring sirens. The meal itself was a study in contradictions. The fries were a standout: fried to a structural crisp and dusted with a unique seasoning that provided a sophisticated "tang". Unfortunately, the Mozzarella Sticks failed to reach such heights... $7.99 for six, they were decidedly mediocre and hardly worth the price point, accompanied by a measly two-ounce cup of marinara sauce. The true tragedy, however, lay in the wings. While the portion sizes were undeniably generous, boasting an impressive amount of flats, the sauce was a disappointment. As the visual evidence confirms, the sauce lacked emulsification, leaving the wing to languish in a pool of separated oil. This scarcity extended to the condiments: I was provided only a single two-ounce cup of ranch to split between seven wings, a mountain of fries, and six pieces of celery. The Verdict: Chex's Grill & Wings is a place of diligent effort: I observed the front-counter worker spending their downtime meticulously tidying the lobby. Yet, for all its cleanliness and five large-screen distractions, the culinary execution remains inconsistent. It is a masterclass in visual presentation, but it requires more depth in the sauce and a bit more generosity in the portioning of its sauces. Rating: 3/5 Stars

We were seated as a party of 5 at a long booth and ordered some flavored lemonades (strawberry and raspberry) and water. For appetizer, we got the onion rings. Our waitress was nice and friendly, seemed a little overwhelmed but I can imagine it was a long and busy day. For entrees we ordered a variety of pot pies, spasagna (spaghetti+lasagna), and chicken tenders. We had a long day out in the heat and were all very hungry so our meals hit the spot. The portions were hearty so some of us did have leftovers. Pricewise this place is hard to beat- cocktails under $10, entrees under $20 and they deliver on flavor. A few of the friends had never been here before and were pleasantly surprised, one of them thought it would be like TGIF and I explains that it was a little nicer in decor/ambience and service. There is a decent outdoor patio area with plenty of seating and ample parking available. @azfitfoodfun

I noticed immediately half the tables were empty -- obviously understaffed. We waited 40 minutes to be seated, and we were sat at a table in the middle of the floor. Noticing all the empty booths around, we VERY KINDLY asked the same hostess if we could move to a booth instead and her response was literally "Those booths are in another waiter's section, you're welcome to get back in line for another table." Mind you, the booth we asked about was not even 10 feet away from our current table and the entire section was empty. I'm not unreasonable -- I understand that waiter/waitress sections are designed to make the restaurant run smoothly. But this was just ridiculous, especially after the wait time was nearly quadrupled. I noticed all the other tables around us didn't have food on them yet, and some had been there since before we even walked in the door. We left immediately after the smart mouth comment from the hostess. I won't be coming back.
