I contacted BTS Tire and Service regarding a repair on my 2022 Mazda CX-30. I was seeking a repair on my rear bumper. They were provided an insurance claim number over the phone and told us to bring the car in for assessment. They informed us that if they were unable to complete work on the bumper that they would have the car towed to a shop that could complete the body work. They told us that they work with Geico all the time and their should be no issue managing the claim. My wife received a call from them the next day saying that they could complete the bumper repair as well as other issues found with the vehicle (leaking tensioner and failing battery). They informed us that they were going to contact the insurance provider for us to get everything taken care of on that end. My wife verified with them that they could complete all work on the car (including the bumper). They assured her that that was accurate and that the car would be able to be picked up that evening. We received a call from them that they completed the work in the afternoon and went to pick up the car. We went in told us that they had completed everything and collected payment. At no point did they offer an invoice or offer a walk around the vehicle before moving to collect payment. No paperwork was signed off on before the collected payment. When we went to pick up the car we saw that the bumper had not been repaired and only the tensioner and battery had been replaced. When asked about why the bumper had not been replaced, they informed us that they do not offer body work even though we had been told that they could. That claimed that authorization for repair services had been given when they were explicitly told not to proceed with any services if the bumper could not be repaired on site. They said they would check their recorded line to verify this and offered to tow the car to another shop. Geico covered the car being moved After the car was moved we were informed that outside of towing services, BTS had not contacted Geico as the had originally stated, and that they should have never worked on the car without doing so. BTS charged us for an inspection even though insurance would have covered that. Both the new shop and Geico assessed that BTS had engaged in deceptive practices and (pulled one over on us). We went back to BTS and asked for a partial refund on account of this behavior. BTS refuses to acknowledge that they engaged in deceptive business practices or refund any money. They refuse to acknowledge that they did not contact Geico even though there is not record of said call and we were charged for what would have been insured services. They claim that full authorization was given and refuse to check their recorded line. read more

BTS has been absolutely outstanding any time I've needed a puncture fixed or a new tire put on (3+ times now--the roads here have teeth). BTS has almost always let me come in the same day and always fixed the punctures promptly. Once, they accidentally scratched one of my rims while doing the work, and because it was raining that day, I didn't notice it until a few days later. However, when I stopped by to ask them to repair/replace it, they took a look and immediately offered to replace the (rather expensive) rim with no pushback whatsoever. 5 stars for a shop that stands behind their work! read more

Went in to check a rattling noise, was told I needed front and back brakes that should be repaired immediately and was quoted $1000. Something didn't seem right so I took I it elsewhere, they fixed the rattling noise for free in literally 30 seconds as it was the heat shield that was loose; and told me my brakes were totally fine. I have been using BTS for over 7 years, thru 3 different used vehicles (Subaru wagon, Maurauder sedan, and now on year 5 with a 2002 Toyota Siena minivan). They are always respectful and clear communicators so you know exactly what you are paying for, and will work with you if some things have to wait for financial reasons. I'm super happy with the service I've gotten the 3 times I've visited- two were for tire leaks (always something lodged in the tire) they fix quickly. On one of my most recent visits was after going to the dealership who told me that my brakes were nearly gone - a $300+ repair. I went for a second opinion- they thought before even looking, at my low mileage, that it seemed unlikely, and they when they reviewed, confirmed that I still had a bit to go. Now I don't want to risk brakes- but also don't want to complete repairs that aren't necessary yet. I like second opinions. BTS really came through for my son after he had taken his car to a Mercedes dealership when his car was acting up. They claimed the computer diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The car only has 93K miles on it. The estimate they gave him was $9,900! Long story short, we called Richard and he had his technicians diagnose the problem. Turned out it was a fuse that cost $600. including labor! Wonderful service. Completely trustworthy. You will not be disappointed if you bring your car to them for service! read more

I went in for an oil change, a check up on what was wrong with my AC, and an overall peak under the hood. They changed the oil, told me the compressor was broken on my AC and that it would cost me $800 to fix it and then replaced the right front head lamp and the right rear headlamp. Everything is fine with this, (and I did give the ok to do the work), BUT I replaced the right front headlamp myself not three weeks earlier. And, there was nothing wrong with my rear lights because I just passed an inspection a month before I went in (and had changed both rear lamps myself last summer). I agreed for them to do the work because they had me in a bind. If I said "no, don't repair my lights", I'm pretty certain that when I picked up my truck, those lights would have been out and I would have had to friggin repair them again myself. So I said yes, even though I knew I didn't need them. Lights were not an expensive repair even though I'm certain I didn't need them. But I can promise you I won't go back for even the most minor of repairs. read more

This is a revised review from a 5 to a 1 star, warning others to a seek other options before pulling the trigger with these guys. Looking back on our time here and talking to other shops in the state, my girlfriend have been taken for a ride with these guys for the past few months with On and Off Repairs for my 1997 Toyota Corolla and her 2004 Chevy Aveo, and shall not be returning after the last two assessments. Story Ahead: Every issue we have had has always been catastrophic that needs 100's or thousands dollars in repairs no matter what it is. It's always "Well look at it and get back to you soon", and then followed up by a phone call saying "Oh we have bad news, this ___ needs to happen to ___, it's in BAD shape, it's going to cost a lot, somewhere around ___" in the most exaggerated and way that explains absolutely nothing. My first real indication to avoiding this place should have been their refusal to show me what issues they were referring too/ willing to show the damage that needs repair. Every shop I have been to anywhere has ALWAYS been willing to make it a point to show the repair, which seems sketchy to me if they won't, no matter the excuse. The final straw was this week, going in for a hole somewhere in my muffler system, initially I told them and said they would weld it if they could for 40-50 bucks, which seemed fair and about right. after dropping it off, got a phone call less than an hour later saying they won't and can't do it, and in the most movie scripted dramatic way, told me I need a whole new muffler system, which will cost me $1400 I understand it's a 97 Corolla, but this things when bought, had 2 tiny rust spots on the rear quarter panel, and that was it! It's in solid shape and only have been driving it for 9 months before, and passed all rust inspections those 9 months prior. I told him I would come get the car immediately and there was not a single chance I would do anything before seeking at least 2 more opinions. Did just that, and sought out some other highly recommended places around the state, who both told me the need for a whole exhaust replacement for my car at this time is COMPLETELY asinine and asked what drugs they are smoking, or game BTS is playing. They tried pulling the same thing on my girlfriends car a few months earlier, telling her she needed a whole new reconstruction on her passenger side wheel totaling almost $1000...for a lightly warped rotor! Any person knows this is NOT a pressing issue at all, and definitely not worth a whole reconstruction of the wheel area! Not to mention all the small one off nonsense things they told me in the past: Such as if I don't get my wheel bearing replaced in 30 days of it giving out, my tire will fall off...Yeah, OK buddy. In close: People going here beware, this a shop that WILL take advantage of people who feel don't know enough about cars. read more

I work within walking distance so BTS gets all of my car service business. Never had an issue with them until a couple weeks ago. A "clunking" noise from the rear was getting progressively worse. I took it to BTS and told the counter guy that it sounded like it was coming from the rear axles, maybe brakes or something. The ended up doing a complete brake job, replacing the calipers and rotors for $750. Unfortunately, I noted on the drive home that it didn't fix the problem. A couple days later they sent me an online customer satisfaction survey. I rated the service poorly and the owner called me about 10 minutes after I returned the survey and asked me to bring the car back in, pledging they would fix the problem for sure. I dropped it off again and they fixed it. Turns out Toyota had issued a technical service bulletin describing the problem exactly as a drive shaft issue. BTS lubricated the heck out of the drive shaft to see if that would work rather than complete replacement and it did. They did not charge me for this service. Bottom line - they fell down on the initial service but came through on the recovery. This is the only negative incident I've had in 3 years. The staff has always been friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I'm a fan. read more

BTS staff are friendly and efficient. My first encounter was earlier in the year when I moved to Rhode Island and needed to get my inspection test completed as well as an oil change. Had an appointment for the inspection and oil change but due to a miscommunication only the inspection was completed. They were apologetic and prioritized my oil change after realizing the mistake (not a big deal, things happen and they have a decent waiting area with coffee and a tv). Earlier this week my car's check engine light went on and was being generally difficult. I called on Wednesday morning, and not only were they able to fit my car in, they were also able to finish the repairs by the end of the day. i wasnt going to do this but accountability is important. my car was overheating..i had it towed from boston. $75 diagnosis they said i needed dual assembly fan. okay. i pick it up and stressed that im driving back to boston. 'no problem' they said. 'its all fixed'. before i even reached dedham (halfway to my destination) it overheated...i pulled over just before it reached the red. i had it towed back. they said you need a new radiator...i asked if that would fix the problem. they said it should. i didnt even need the assembly fan..they said now your ac is super cold...i have a convertible i wasnt concerned about the ac. they charged me double the aftermarket price plus labor the mechanic who worked on the car wouldnt even come out to speak with me...they sent out the manager or asst manager. okay, i paid...but you misdiagnosed totally. what i needed was a coolant temp sensor $18 plus 1 hour of labor. yes i took it elsewhere and had to pay another diagnosis fee. i told bts they didnt fix the problem could they at least give my $75 back. they said if u buy a new radiator we will subtract it. my housemates had referred them...but trust me...NEVER AGAIN!!! pt cruiser 2006 114,000 mi read more

From the first phone call to new tires on my car, it was only 1 full day - and the price for mounting and alignment was totally reasonable! I have been going to BTS for 9 years and was disappointed last year when my car needed to be serviced 3 x in a row and paid almost 1500.00 for the repairs. One of those bills was $900.00 I asked the owner to take some money off because I did not think the work they did and frequency of my 3 repairs in a row was not warranted and received $100 in return. I let the owner know I was not coming back because of all of the above. Took my car to another mechanic and he reports they did not do good work and had to pay this guy another $500.00 in repair. We brought in a car who's exhaust system suddenly went bad. Didn't really know what was wrong with the car, as it sits so low to the ground tha t I can't even get my head underneath it. The mechanic told me that I needed to replace the muffler, as well as several other points along the exhaust system, at a price of over 600 dollars. I left with the quote (which, also, didn't ahve any details on it either). I then brought the car to a major auto repair chain (meineke, in south attleboro). They SHOWED me what was wrong, underneath the car. This auto repair business that I instead went to for the repair fixed the vehicle for 208 dollars. BTS clearly were trying to get me to replace parts that were in good condition, as well as to fix the broken muffler. ALWAYS get a second estimate, especially if a mechanic try's telling you that there are multiple problems, which you didn't even know about. read more
