Everyday Deal: This $9.99 special includes two tacos, chips with salsa, and a fountain drink. The tacos were adequately filled and the chips were a decent side. Unlimited beverage refills are option. Financially, this was a great deal. However, the tacos were bland and it wasn't my preferred menu choice. Also, I feel nacho cheese would have been a better dip for the nachos. Salad Bowl: This specialty menu item is a winner. As you walk down the line, you get to choose a lettuce, protein and sides (most are included, but some will require an up charge). Feel free to select multiple sauces such as sour cream, salsa, and specialty sauce. I always prefer to serve the sauce on the side, but feel free to have the dressings poured on top of the salad. In lieu of croutons, the plate is served in an edible bowl. Expect a crunch in every bite! The service is fast and there are a few tables for indoor dining. One of the minor issues is that there aren't any plastic spoons available. When I return, I'm definitely planning to explore more of the specialty items. Love this chain, their food is always delicious. The serving size is large and their ingredients are fresh. It's a little pricey, but not terrible. This bowl was ~$16. They're very busy around lunchtime, which resulted in my pick up order being slightly incorrect. I wasn't given any utensils (that I requested), and my drink was left out. Luckily I wasn't charged for the drink, but I did double check that I ordered one but for some reason it wasn't included in my order. Lots of parking and the owner is very friendly! Opening day! Bubbakoo's opened their new store in Dumont today. Really hyped for this store as it gives a excellent Mexican food option near my home. They have flexibility of picking your own type of dish and select your own ingredients. They also provide you option to build your own party pack. The food is prepared fresh, right in the back of the store's kitchen. It has great taste as well. The proteins comes with different sauce like ghost pepper, mango habanero, sriracha ranch. What an awesome nice new spot in the neighborhood. Casual/fast food Mexican with all the Fixin's. They also got some nice looking chicken wings, which is always a good thing. By chance I went in 10 minutes early before they open and they were kind enough to let me in, so I actually got to be the first person to order and pay for something. I got the Barbacoa beef burrito, the shrimp tacos and the crispy chicken quesadillas. Everything was solid and there's tons of add on toppings. Some are free, some are an extra charge. There's also a nice assortment of sauces. Everything was fresh, they even cook the shrimp to order. The entire staff was super friendly and attentive. It just so happened to be Tuesday (Taco Tuesday) and I was craving some tacos. Had no idea this place opened about a week ago! There are so many options and combinations, but the person helping me had a lot of good suggestions. I went with the 3 taco entree with hard shells: shrimp, shredded pork, and barbacoa (with respective sauces: sweet chili, mango habanero, and southern BBQ). I'm usually reluctant when it comes to hard shells but this one held up really well and maintained a good crunch too! FYI, the shrimp is a set portion that's enough to fill 2 (of the 3) tacos but I opted to make it 1 taco with the extra shrimp on the side. That with all the overflowing toppings, over the included tortilla chips, made a pseudo taco salad! I thought the whole meal was fantastic and a great bang for your buck. Not going to lie though, if it weren't Tuesday I probably would've tried something else first. So that means I'll need to try some other menu items next! read more

Good for a local, quick and affordable option. They have the BEST chicken quesadilla IF you order it shredded with the garlic parm sauce. The way they char the tortilla is unmatched. Besides this, I only ever order the carnitas or shredded chicken as a bowl with sweet chili sauce. Messing around with the other options gets dicey for me but, I will opt for ground beef if I get the taco salad bowl. The crispy fried tortilla it comes in is super addicting! I would always eat it in place of tortilla chips if it wasn't so unhealthy! Tacos are just ok here, I wouldn't reccomend. They also have bad chicken wings. Curly fries are good though (get them loaded for a meal). I want to try the Oreos, but haven't gotten to any of the desserts. Is this place authentic? NO. It's American. With the right expectations, and choices, it's a solid choice for fast food. read more

I tried this new place in town for lunch and it was ok. Unfortunately only ok. I got the shredded chicken burrito with rice, beans, pico and sauce. It was very big and plentiful but it lacked salt. Everything was fresh and tasted ok but it seemed to lack something. Like maybe true Mexican flavor? It reminded me of Chipotle in that it was big and ok. We finally gave this place a try. A lot of the reviews said the food was good, especially if you order inside. The place was very busy, which was a good indication. We did have to wait for awhile, due to people picking up there food. The employees were very considerate and sorry that we had to wait. Definitely worth the wait, my wife had a double shrimp bowl, which was very good. I had crispy chicken quesadillas and tater tots, also very good. I would recommend having patience if your going to order from here, the employees may be overwhelmed, just have some patience, it's definitely worth the wait. read more

First time ordering from Bubbakoo's! Ordered via Uber Eats thanks to a $20 off $25 promo! Unfortunately, nothing I have ordered for delivery arrives anywhere near hot! I guess that's to be expected. My burrito bowl was a mess, short on chicken, and not appealing to look at! Taste and overall portion (mostly rice) were ok, but the chicken must have been so fresh it flew away! Also ordered a Burritodilla with carnitas. Burritodilla had potential, but was again short on protein, and filling was less than generous. This place is a better Chipotle with some added pluses. I really enjoyed their buffalo beef chiwawa which was flavorful and filling. I was only able to take two bites of the Asian wings we also ordered. All food remained hot after 15 minutes of picking up and bringing home. I saw a lot of good reviews on google and decided this was a convenient lunch for today. I regretted that decision the moment I walked into the shop and worse when I got home and sat down to eat. Staff was pleasant and friendly but not enough to make up for the heart of any food review which is majority based on the food... I had trust in Bubbakoos as I had often eaten at their location in New Brunswick. This location did not live up even remotely. The food behind the glass looked sad and not fresh. Because I was already inside I ordered a bowl of lettuce, rice, beans, grilled chicken, cheese and guac. the taste was not great overall and the chicken looked very unappealing and in fact tasted like lumpy joints as opposed to the thickness and juiciness of regular grilled chicken. I'm not sure if something has changed since the reviews I read within the past 4 months but this was not it. At least now I know and won't return. read more

Was recommended this place by a friend and it must vary by location because the Dumont location was terrible. The steak was cold after they put it on the grill for only a minute. I ordered tacos and the way the girl made it was like she didn't even want to be at work nothing made it in the actual tacos. The food was bland, the tortillas were stale. Solid addition to the restaurants in the area. The menu is pretty extensive when you factor in the different combinations you can do with the meat and sides. For my first visit, I tried the chicken quesadilla with peppers and onions and I was very pleasantly surprised. Walked though the door and I was greeted right away, the staff and manager were very kind. This was my third time there and they've never failed to provide a welcoming atmosphere. I used to think that this place was comparable to chipotle till I gave it a try. Chipotle falls short of not only for the fresh quality of produce but also the meats. Amazingly they freshly cook the meat of your choice right there on the spot in a flash. The flavors of the wide selection of sauces and salsas really top it off the meal of your choice. The staff was super duper nice and they were doing their best given the crowd that was there. I was pretty bummed though because the beans, rice, pico, and corn had virtually no flavor.... especially the beans! They just taste like they came straight out of the can with no seasoning, no sofrito, nothing. Also- the guacamole comes out of a squeezy bag and tastes like Taco Bell guac, not fresh sadly... So I went today excited to try a new place... when I got there I just noticed the crazy hectic scene. Way too many employees for the size of the place... it seemed like they were all still getting trained.. there was at least 6 employees of not more (including manager) because I saw one was directing what to do. I got a rice bowl... the amount of onions and peppers was basically like I got none... I asked for more but he couldn't hear since there was so many employees talking at once... I put pico the gallo since I do not like sour cream... there really isn't too much flavor. I was hoping that they had special dressing or sauce that would go with this bowl (kind of like moes) but they did not. A sauce for the rice bowl would be recommended at the end. Since it was my first time I was unaware what sauce I could get. I asked the girl at the end and she told me it was pico the Gallo or hot sauce and I already had pico... not sure if I would order here again.. maybe I would give it another chance but probably will do online since in person ordering was just a bit too much.... I really wanna like this place because some of the people are trying to make it work. It's a hot day, I'm spending $45 including bottles of drinks and I just want a cup of ice with my warm bottle of water that I paid for but I'm being charged $2.50 for the ice. My soda cup lids are for hot coffee. I ordered fried Oreos and I watched her write it down on a post it but my order was still incomplete. They gave me the bag but thankfully I checked before I made it all the way home that they were missing the Buffalo cauliflower. I heard her say that she got all the fried items taken cared of to someone else but hey, I don't work there. Idk what that entails. I know the training is lacking and they're a hot mess but I gave it time and this is my 5th visit. Also can you please put my burrito on foil as it slides down the toppings section because I saw you drop a bowl on the floor and pick it up and put it on the same surface where the naked tortillas go as they are being filled. Covid or not, it should really be on some foil or something. Most of the bad reviews isn't the food so much as the service. The 2 people training are really trying to make it work though!
