This is the first experience we have had at Texas Roadhouse that was not satisfactory. When we were seated there were no rolls available. Rolls were placed in the window and every basket disappeared. The manager came around and we mentioned we were still waiting on rolls. This was about 10-15 minutes after we were seated. The manager checked on rolls and came back to let us know it would be a few minutes. Another round of rolls were placed in the window and they all disappeared. We waited, no food no rolls. More rolls were placed in the window and several baskets sat there. When our food was delivered, we asked the food server to get some rolls for us. Very upset with this place. I came in ordered my meal. They gave it to the guy next to me. He didn't even order what I did and still tried to eat it and the say it wasn't his. Our server, Madison, greeted us at our table all the way in the back of the restaurant. She was serious and not friendly or smiling. From there it only got worse, unfortunately for us. I ordered the Sirloin and Shrimp with Baked potato. When my Sirloin came out it was slightly wet, but tasted bad and incredibly dry and tough. I tried salt and it didn't help. I asked for barbecue sauce, but that never came. I decided to send it back and try something else. I asked for the grilled shrimp. She said let's see you already had this many shrimp, so how many more do you want. I finally just said three. She said six would be better. Not sure why they couldn't just bring me a full order of shrimp as I gave them back almost the whole steak. The whole time, Madison was being extremely rude and unprofessional. Finally, my shrimp come and they are good, but by they then my brother was done eating his Chicken Fried Sirloin. He liked his meal, but felt it was over breaded. He would have liked to have not had to ask for Iced Tea refills and not feel she was judging our intake. Our experience, was ruined by the way we were treated by Madison. We made a stop into this location last week to a wonderful meal. I ordered a ribeye steak cooked Pittsburgh style, baked potato, and a salad with the spicy French dressing. I received the steak cooked medium, and it was perfect. I've had a couple of other more expensive steaks lately that were not cooked anywhere near as good as this one. I took my husband to this location on his birthday and told the hostess before seating that it was his birthday. She asked if I would her to tell the waitress, I said yes. First, I was set at a small table in the bar. Then, the bartender was our waitress. She brought our bar drinks fast, but took her time taking orders for food. We ordered an appetizer and finished it, then nothing. The food finally came cold. I had to ask bus boy about our salads not coming before the meal. He went to check. Assistant. Manager (maybe) came out and apologized saying new employee making salads. It took about 10 or more minutes for salad to arrive. Now we had NO room on the small bar booth table. The assistant manager came out and apologized for the mistakes and gave me a coupon for an appetizer for my next visit which I just put in my Jean pocket. We really could not eat with the crowded table. The bartender finally came with check. We just packed up steaks to take home. I still left an over 22% tip. I'm disappointed in myself but I don't make a fuss...... to add insult to injury I got home and looked at the coupon and it was Expired!!!!!! Giving the food a 3 and the service a 5. It's been a long time since being here and my wife wanted the blossom and rolls so we came. Service by Austin was top tier. He was on top of everything. Grabbed our orders, brought out the rolls, everything was fast and polite. Rolls were great. We both ordered steaks. My steak was ordered as a medium and hers was medium well. We cut into them as requested when they arrived and from the middle, both looked good. After we left the center on the next cuts the rest of the steak was a temperature higher. Mine was pink in the middle, and just the middle of the overall steak. Otherwise it was cooked pretty through. Hers was well done throughout the rest of the cut from the direct center. Overall the flavor was still good so we didn't complain. The Mac n cheese for both of us was bland. The steak fries weren't that good. The few times I've been to this particular establishment for dinner it's been very busy. The wait is crazy. Luckily you can reserve a spot online and get a text when ready. Parking has to extend to the store lots nearby. The staff were very nice and always checked on us. The level of service is high here. The food is ok. Buns are always good and they'll give you free peanuts in bags now instead of open buckets. The chicken salad was not the best. Chicken texture was off and the greens were mainly cheap iceberg. Dressing option seemed to be lite ranch which imo is not a good ranch and if one goes that route to just get the good stuff. Mac and cheese was pretty bland but I guess average kids will be picky if it has any flavor. My kid said it taste like nothing. Steak was good, gravy was ok. Gravy could be improved. It needed a zing or kick in it though as it was just a one note. They need to keep A1 steak sauce on the table as the business brand bottle tasted bad to me. First ingredient was water followed by second ingredient as corn syrup. I'm not putting that on my steak no thank you. Chili was ok but was bland. Cheese fries were fine. Standard fare of cheddar and bacon bits. Atmosphere here and service is great but they need to work on the food. Maybe the food is better for others tastes but I need more excitement in my dishes. I had another very enjoyable experience at Texas Roadhouse in Lakeland. The rolls were hot and wonderfully soft. I ordered the Citrus Herb Grilled Chicken w/very creamy mac & cheese. My entree selection comes with two sides, so I also chose the delicious chili. It had lots of beef and beans, very flavorful! The only complaint I have was the grease used to fry the pickles tasted old. I've had the fried pickles before and enjoyed them, mainly because the batter is very light & crispy. This is the 9th TR I have visited across the country with over 25 total visits! I consider myself a TR expert. So why do I keep coming back over many years?---- Consistency- I've never had a bad meal, not once. I've never had a poorly made drink, I've never had a substandard server. A manager almost always stops by to check on me in addition to the servers of course. These folks absolutely know how to run a chain and it shows. To me, it's the best run casual steakhouse in the country. *** Covid Update *** All employees wear masks. Social distancing enforced. Tables and chairs sanitized between customers. I watched the touch-screen registers sanitized multiple times. Overall an exceptionally good job. Atmosphere- In a word fun! This is a happy place. They play their music a little too loud for me. The managers will tell you it's by design. Sometimes the servers get together and line dance through the restaurant and customers often join in! God help you if they find out it's your B-day! I love to watch it, but I'd rather have a root canal with no pain meds than have it happen to me! Just sayin. Adult libations- Full bar with an emphasis on margaritas. I had a house marg on-the-rocks and it was spot on as always. Customer Service- Just perfection! A little humorous, perky, and truly knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for more. Food- As it was lunchtime, I ordered the 6oz Dallas Filet. I always order peppercorn sauce on-the side as I find it awesome with a steak. It came with two sides and I went with buttered corn and a side salad. Of course, there were rolls with cinnamon butter. The meal went for $16.99. The food was out with perfect timing. I scarfed down the salad which was a perfect size along with a roll. My steak was cooked exactly as ordered with a nice sear. The corn was buttery, and the peppercorn sauce was peppery. Overall, I gave Texas Road House a solid 6. My server Sara was good . The Atmosphere is a 5 due to very loud music , which I think ruins your dining experience . I also think the lighting is too close over the table. They do a line dancing thing every so often, which seemed pointless . It didn't appear that any customers seemed interested . The workers didn't either. It felt more like it was let's get this over with and get back to serving our tables. My steak was cooked perfectly but lacked and real flavor . The ribs were excellent. I had the mango margarita, which was delicious, but they were a little light on the alcohol. I also had the ultimate margarita, which has 3 different tequilas in it. I added an extra shot to the drink . The place was clean inside minus the men's room. But they were very busy that night. We had not been to a Texas Roadhouse in many years (19 to be exact) but a few friends had recommended this one to us because of the steaks. We were in the mood for a piece of beef, so we decided to come here. We lucked out, it was a Saturday night but we only had a 10 minute wait for a table. The place inside was huge, noisy, and bustling. The hostess grabbed bread rolls and seated us with them. I was shocked on first bite to realize that it was cinnamon butter, not regular. Not impressed with the bread rolls, they were average and a bit on the stale side. (Perhaps because they were sitting, prepped, under a heat lamp?) Our waitress, Shana, was a doll, and really hustled. She immediately grabbed us a fresh pail of peanuts and took our drink order. I wasn't going to order an alcoholic drink until I saw the margarita menu and then couldn't resist. I had the Skinny Margarita (skinny calorie-wise for the mixer, not alcohol) and my husband had the Hurricane, both with an 1800 tequila "kick" (aka shot). Silly, but delicious. Highly recommend for the price, taste and size. We both ordered steak, which came with two sides. I had a Caesar salad and broccoli with my 6 oz sirloin. The salad was average, the broccoli was woody. My husband had the 10 oz Fort Worth Ribeye with a house salad and chili. His salad was also average. The chili was outstanding. Really delicious, lots of meat and a bit of spice. The steaks? Both were fantastic. Cooked exactly how we wanted them (medium and medium rare), the food runner had us cut into them to make sure they were to our liking. (I have not seen that before.) We both were very satisfied with our steaks. One interesting note, you can pay your bill via cell phone now. Your bill comes with a QR code that your camera scans and brings up the charges and you can pay right online. I thought that was quite fascinating and possibly dangerous for the business. While it wasn't a perfect meal, I definitely recommend this place for margaritas, chili and steak. We know what we will order when we come back. read more

We have eaten at this TR many times. Never disappoints. Rolls were fresh & warm served as we were seated. Server Kendell was prompt, attentive & charming. Fried pickles were hot & delicious. I'm not a ranch lover so Kendell made a suggestion for a different dip which enhanced the pickles flavor. Steaks were cooked to perfection! The manager Sam came by to make sure everything was good. My husbands food was delivered missing a side & since our server was taking another order we asked Sam. He went right back to the kitchen & got it.
