A word of caution when buying gift cards off a rack. I recently purchased 2 gifts cards for a local restaurant called Bubbaque's from Sams Club. We went to the restaurant to use one and although the card had $25 on it the restaurant would not honor it because it wasn't purchased from them and they were the new owners. Today I went back to Sams to get my money back and they will not refund my money. I was told it was between me and the restaurant. So I'm out 2 $25 gift cards. Needless to say, I will not be a customer of the restaurant and we eat out a lot. read more

Okay so none of this stuff is fresh. Everything taste like it was bought frozen from Walmart or something. Sides taste like they came straight from the can, no seasoning. Wings were bland and not crispy at all. Sauce is disgusting. Definitely not worth the price. The only thing that was decent from here is the funnel fries but even those are a bit greasy. The apple sauce arrived in a Motts plastic container. The BBQ sauce arrived in packets, and it contained High Fructose Corn Syrup (apparently not made in house). The food was okay. I tried this new establishment today. I was worried that it would be, "fast food" BBQ. Well, they did a great job. I went at lunch, service was prompt and polite. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, Texas sausage, and ribs. Sides were potato salad and okra. **Brisket was excellent, from the point but not too fatty. The sausage was good, the ribs were good, albeit a little dry.** Sides were excellent and I loved the plate that the served it on. Great ambiance, responsive management, and overall a good place to go eat some BBQ. Lets hope that they keep their standards for food and service up as they continue to do well. **My usual disclaimer is that all BBQ places cook the way that they cook. On any given night you can get BBQ with several personalities. Take my my advice with a grain of salt, as personal taste varies. Im no expert. We sat at the table for at least 15 mins before someone even took our drink order, they weren't busy, and most of the time the waitresses were talking to one another just a few feet from our table. After 30+ mins of not having our drinks and our waitress just standing there acting as if she had nothing to do, we decided to leave. This was without a doubt the worst experience dining at any restaurant PERIOD. we started by ordering our drinks and appetizers. We were ready to order main meal but had to wait 15 minutes and the delivery of apps before we could. After 45 minutes of being told "it's coming out soon" we were told the kitchen lost our ticket bit it was being rushed. 25 minutes later I expressed my displeasure to the manager and saying we no longer wanted to wait we still had to pay for the appetizers and tea we had. After over an hour of waiting lost tickets AND the waitress forgot my refill until I asked her about it 10 minutes later, they wouldn't even comp $8.32. This is my second time eating at BubbaQues and will undoubtedly be my last. After a pleasant first visit, this second experience was disappointing and disturbing. The bad omens began when we first walked in the door and stood in front of the counter without being greeted for three minutes while two waitresses talked to each other about their personal lives, ignoring us until a hostess arrived. After being seated and ordering drinks they were brought out and left on the table together without even being handed to the right recipient. Our waitress was far more concerned with filling condiments on other tables than serving us, presumably so she could go home. A second waitress actually took our appetizer order and returned literally 20 minutes later to take our main order. After ordering, our appetizers came out with an extra surprise - hair in our dipping sauce. The waitress returned to inform us that they were out of one of our selections, despite having not only not informed us of the shortage earlier but explicitly stating they had the item when we ordered it and specifically ASKED if they had it. We suggested that due to this a free dessert was in order but were told that this was not an option. We were, however, given a new container of dipping sauce, this time free of hair. When the bill was brought out, I was charged for all the appetizers because the waitress didn't even bother to ask how to divide them up. The amateur wait staff, and unsatisfactory condition of the food has left a poor taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively....one I could not wash out no matter how much I drank.
