Worst pizzas I've ever seen made by a restaurant! Stay away from this place at all cost. Pizza crust was either premade or the flour didn't rise. The crust was very hard and the top of the pizza was orange from all the grease it had on it. Some of the slices didn't even have cheese or pepperoni on them. Got home and noticed this. I called back and the shift supervisor told me I would need to drive 20 minutes back to get another 2 pizzas made. Instead of offering to make them again when I'm back that way or a refund, she wanted me to turn back around and drive another 20 minutes back with the original pizzas for their mistake. I offered to send her pictures and she declined. She said the flour probably didn't rise on the pizza and that's why it was hard. If so, why still serve it if it's visible that it's not going to be good? What's the excuse for the rest of the pizza? As much as they cost, you're better off going to a pizza joint to get a better tasting one. Another thing to add, they have at least 10 employees working in a cramped up kitchen constantly talking so be prepared to eat spit from them talking over your food while being made. As many years as I've been going there before it was bubbas subs, I definitely will not be going back. Ever since the original owners stepped down, this place pretty much kicked the bucket. You know the food isn't great when they had a sign at one point on the counter saying to check your food before you leave to make sure it's right. If you are getting a take out order, Inspect it before you leave!! For the third time Bubbas has left me down with a take out order!!! I spent 55$ on 4 subs and was severely let down again. When will I learn? Well now is the time. The first time it happened, I let them know when we went back to eat in-house. The second take out order we were with a bunch of friends at the pool so I just sucked it up to lazy workers at Bubbas. However the next time I ordered take out, at the pick up window I opened my sandwich to inspect the order. I explained to the lady at the window what I was doing and she looked rather sheepish. It was as ordered so 3 orders with 1 correct have them a 33% chance of quality. This time I'm posting a review because they don't seem to get in person feedback. Stopped by this place because the giant sub painted on the side of the building and the award sign displayed outside. We ordered food to go and it was very quick. My kiddo tried the meatball sub. Jeff's fav was also pretty good. The grilled cheese special was buttery and cheesy as it should be. It went great with the pickle I stole from my daughter's sub meal. She hates them...I love a nice garlicky pickle!! Anyways...The cheese fries are delicious, they are seasoned waffle fries covered in a cheesy sauce. The employees I dealt with were very nice. I have been eating at this place for over 30 years and it has really gone down hill in the past year or two. Tables are dirty, windows are filthy, things you need have run out because everyone is too busy standing around and talking, I ask for my pizza slice to be put back in the oven because I like it crispy and they give me a cold piece of pizza instead. WTF people can u not look at the order and see that it says crispy! The people working there act like the customer is bothering them to have to do something. I love a good cheesesteak and was excited to try this place because my husband works in the area and said it was good! The bread was really good and fresh but thats all I could taste. I recently visited Bubba's Subs & Pizza after watching a review on YouTube. I had no idea of their back story until viewing this video. If you went to NC State in the 90s and enjoyed subs at a certain sub shop in DH Hill or Talley Student Center, do yourself a favor and make the trip to Sanford. On my recent visit I enjoyed a grilled chicken sub, which was my favorite order at Talley, and was immediately transported back to my NC State days. The flavor of everything was the same. They have an extensive menu with a lot of options including hot / cold subs, pizzas, salads, etc. Our food was served quickly and the folks were very friendly. I am from Philadelphia, I know great pizza, this pizza is really, really good! We played Tobacco Road golf course and were really hungry when we visited this place. We weren't expecting anything great but were pleasantly surprised how delicious the pizza was here. The dough was super thin and the crust was fluffy and crispy, the cheese was great and the sauce was really impressive. We all agreed the pizza was much more then expected. Also had some sandwiches that were pretty good , super fresh rolls and I had some type of an Italian hoagie. It was decent, cheap meats and not really anything like I am accustomed but I would get it again. One of my friends had a cheesesteak and actually said it was pretty good , I didn't even see it due to it being devoured so quickly! The place was very clean and I had a chance to talk to the owner, it was March 18th and all restaurants were ordered to take out only due to the Coronavirus.... I think the owner was slightly in shock but I could tell this place is a very successful local place and they will survive and thrive in the future. I decided to try Bubba's today and I must say the food is amazing. I order a 4" Polish sausage, an 8" Philly cheese steak, with cheese fries and fried green beans. All of it was great and so was the service. If you have not eaten here you need to try it. They have lots of drink selections I asked if I could make an Arnold Palmer and they said yes it was great too. They ranch for the fries is one of the best I have ever had. read more

I had the grilled (heated) roast beef sandwich with Bacon. It was very good... although I'm not sure what was grilled. The cheese was melted but everything else was cold... Seems like a nice family owned non-chain business. Family and I ordered the Bubba Special pizza; pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushroom, onion, green peppers. It was a good pie. Order was ready on time as promised for pick up ( no delivery service?) and was a very good value. Pizza crust, for me one of the most important components, was ok but lacked that special "toothiness" which I prefer....that chewy but not tough quality. The staff is super friendly and truly remembers their regular customers. This is not some franchise: these are local people running a great business for... local people. They offer a wide variety of traditional Americana fare: subs to salads, pizza to Pepsi, fried food and fresh. Personally I love the atmosphere. It's got the feel of a well-used, established eatery. You feel comfortable dining by yourself or with friends. There's ESPN on TV, and upbeat music on the radio. There is also a patio with outside tables, should the temperature be amenable to that. For some reason we have lived in Sanford for 6 years and have never eaten at Bubba's. Well, my husband finally tried it with a friend and instantly became a fan. We called in an order, both of us getting Jeff's favorite with pretty much everything on it and it was delicious! The bread is probably the best part. It is so fresh and soft, with a crispy exterior. The ingredients are of high quality and the veggies taste fresh. We also got criss-cut fries with cheese sauce, which were good too. As a local business owner I love great customer service and the entire staff was on point! The atmosphere is happy, upbeat and busy, which can be difficult to keep all those positives under pressure. I love Bubbas. I always get the Jeff's favorite as it is also mine. The entire staff is very friendly and very accommodating. I love the sandwiches and the variety of sides you can get. I've never had the pizza because I can't pull myself away from the subs. Get it toasted. They put your sandwich in the pizza oven and get it to just the right crispiness. The kitchen does look a little too cluttered and could use some cleaning and the beverage station needs some serious thought. But these two things are very minor and don't curb my desire to eat there on a regular basis. read more
