The Social is located in the South Shore Market in Ward. It's in the same shopping mall with…read more TJMaxx and Nordstrom Rack. It's such a convenient place because you don't have to worry about parking. In addition to that, the place is pretty clean and spacious. It's a good place for a small gathering. I will have to say that it's kind of in the pricer side; but the portion and the amount of food is pretty good. With this economy and located in the Ward area, it's understandable. Truffle Bacon Penne Pasta 4.5/5: Surprisingly, the overall dish was not salty. It's actually pretty good for such price. The pasta is cook enough that's not overcooked or under cooked. It already comes with bacon, but I added grilled chicken for extra protein. The chicken is not salty, and it's tender and flavorful. Garlic shrimp 4.5/5: It's a food truck style garlic shrimp with rice. I will definitely get it again because it's sooo good! However, I do have to say that the shrimp was actually pretty salty. Buttt, it's sooo flavorful. You can tell they are not petty in garlic and butter because they put a lot of garlic and butter that each piece of the shrimp is coated evenly that absorbs the garlicky flavor. The shrimp is fresh and not overcooked. If you like rice, the rice will taste like heaven. The rice soaked all the garlic butter sauce, and mix it/eat with the garlic and the shrimp, it's just the right tastes.

It seemed to be a slow day for them but two other tables came in shortly after us. The girl who sat and served us was very nice & checked on us often. We got our drinks in a timely manner but the food took about 45 minutes to get to us after ordering. The table who ordered before us got their plates one by one at separate times so I knew kitchen staff was low that day. When our food came out it was presented nicely, but the burger patties seemed unseasoned. I believe they're previously frozen which ok since they don't specify it's made in house but it just lacked seasoning unfortunately. It's not too loud In there, lots of TV's to watch sports & I saw the girl happily change it for an other table who wanted to watch something in particular. They were also out of a couple things which the server made us aware of, later I overheard more things were out after another couple tried to order. The service was great but the food was ok.

I sincerely thought it wouldn't be enough food to fill me up. I was wrong. My husband and I are usually big eaters and we were both full. He ordered a bucket of beers - 5 for $25 which was a nice deal. The Nonna's Special Drink - "Lost In Rome" was both pretty and delicious! The service was excellent! It's a family owned business and family operated. They are very friendly, down to earth, and it's easy to kind of feel like family, even as a customer because of how easily they chat and talk to you as if you've known them a long time. Upon first walking in to the main entrance, it felt a little strange since this used to be a Foodland. But when we were sitting at the bar talking story, we kind of forgot that we were sitting in one small eatery that is a part of a larger food court type environment. It was a Friday night, which apparently is salsa night. There was an open area kind of in the middle of all the eateries where there was a couple teaching salsa to people who are interested in learning. From what it looked like it seemed that these were all individual people that showed up separately but partnered up to learn the dance. Overall, I would definitely recommend you check this place out. We liked it so much that we're going back again tomorrow night.

Friendly and personable, we were immediately remembered after our first visit. The soup is ono, the meatballs are awesome, and my fav is the Caprese salad. Enjoy your food at the bar where you can talk story all you like with the bartenders. Thursdays are line-dancing nights and Friday is salsa nights - both are very popular and everyone is friendly. Drink at Nonna's and enjoy the events.

So, when a hair was found in my daughters cheesecake it was a bit shocking! The waiter recognized the grotesque error in production and immediately ask is she wolike another slice. She agreed and was presented with the hair free 8.50 version. It is common practice to not only provide the option of replacing the product for the customer but to remove the charge for the hair laced food from the bill. This action not only expresses the restaurants remorse but signifies their desire to keep you as a returning customer. Unfortunately this did not occur nor was any Kama' Aina discount applied (resident discount). Curious to know if the assumption that we, African Americans, are not aware of the rights a d wrongs in the service industry. Nonetheless, as a travel provider for tourists here in Hawaii, I will not longer recommend or refer tourists to Nico's pier 38 from this day forward. So sad. I expected more from this Honolulu establishment.

That restaurant is a little in the smaller side, but definitely a great place for brunch dates or a quick bite for a small group. All your fave food and more. The prime rib was excellent with delicious condiments - personal fave was the chimichurri. All the cocktails are great as well. Fave was the Bean Buzz martini (espresso martini but with cold brew). The staff there was so helpful and with choosing cocktails and being able to make some changes to drinks. When I originally made my res, I accidentally made it for 10:30pm rather than am. The waitress called to double check. I've never had someone call for my mistake. (Thank you so much Cynthia!) great bartender, and a man who kept egging me on to eat more (I'm not complaining). Great vibes, great food, and great drinks! I will be back!

From the outside of the restaurant, it looks closed, but you just need to slide the door open and they are fully operating. Abe greeted us and gave us a choice of where to sit. We opted for a small bench/cocktail seating on the right hand side of the establishment. We jokingly told Abe that the table maybe too small for all the food that we were about to order and he assured us that he would time the service so that the table wouldn't be overcrowded, to which he and the team executed well. The house fried potato chips were my favorite of the evening, as they were crispy and the aioli complimented it well. I personally would've liked more salmon on the pumpernickel dish. The beef and brioche dish was missing something as the flavors fell flat for me. And the brioche was a little too dry for my liking. Throughout our time there, Abe stopped by to check on us, and fully explained their libations, with great enthusiasm on the Whiskey Business portion. We'll be back to try these on another day. It's always a cute vibe here, on the darker moodier side in the evenings, perfect for a date night or get together to catch up with friends.
