Bubble bath room. Its about 3-feet deep.

Bubble Planet is an interactive exhibition of sight, sound and touch with bubbles as the theme. The venue is at Henry Kaiser Center of the Arts near Laney College in Oakland. Its about five rooms of fun for the family, especially with young kids with sensory needs. Expect to spend maybe 1 hr max here. 1. Cost is just below $100 for 2 adults and a child, with parking in their outdoor lot. 2. The first room is an interactive light show with the under the sea theme with digital sealife moving all over the floors. 3. The second room was a huge, balloon-filled pit that you'll have to navigate through. 4. The third room was a half-dome like igloo with cool sound reflections. I guess this is like a mini-version of Las Vegas Sphere. 5. There was one gigantic room with a bathtub filled with plastic balls, maybe 3-foot deep. You can literally swim in it. Young kids and toddlers need extra care. Out-of-shape adults may need help getting up if they insist on doing backstrokes. 6. The VR room costs $5 for a 5-10 min show. The rotating chairs were cool and adds to the experience. 7. They have another room with strings of lights that alternate colors and mirrors. Great for selfies but stay on the path - its not a maze and don't touch the lights! 8. The last room had actual bubble machines but otherwise nothing special. Definitely recommend this as a fun distraction for young kids. I enjoyed this much more than Museum of Ice Cream and the Van Gogh exhibit in SF.

Buahahahha a fun way to kill 1-2 hours if you want to burn $35/person. My partner and I had the day off and found ourselves near Lake Merritt. Bubble Planet is the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts' latest installation. There are 10 or so rooms. Sprinkled throughout are educational panels about bubbles, domes, spheres-- thematic of course lol. I think some of these are kinda cheap IG-selfie setups, but the two rooms my partner and I LOVED were the ball pit (THIS IS THE BIGGEST BALL PIT I'VE SEEN ANY INSTALLATION DO????) and the pulsing hanging lights. We easily spent 30+ minutes in each. Bring hand sanitizer! Since we visited on a weekday afternoon, there weren't any crowds or issues with rooms being backed up. Ample space to enjoy and explore, take pictures. Staff are polite and helpful. Ends in a few interactive installations and a gift shop. Wonder what the next installation will be?

We were among the first visitors to Bubble Planet. We visited on the first Friday it was open and were one of a few groups that evening. When visiting pop ups, you're usually battling crowds so it was great to have the space to ourselves for some good photo opps. The path takes you into various colorful rooms/installations featuring bubbles of various sizes and textures. We spent about an hour enjoying the sights and sounds. It was a great family outing We walked the two blocks from Lake Merritt Station. There was parking in front of the entrance for $16 flat fee.

Pretty and fun for the kiddies!

Two special needs children with different diagnosis's and they both had a great time with just two minor incidents that directly correlate with their special needs. Outside of that though this place was a great experience. Very vibrant and colorful and out together with a lot of artistic thought and creativity. It was a lot bigger than i anticipated also. I would recommend for any family with children.

We went as a family of 7 and we had such a great time! The space was big enough with enough activities for what we spent. It wasn't crowded at all so we were able to enjoy everything without being rushed.

    Huge ball pit!

This experience was so fun! I brought my nanny kid who is 3 years old and he loved every room. I swear he was more excited the farther we went. The huge ball pit was my favorite, I want to come back for a date night or with friends!

The end of the tour. You are dumped out to a place to color, blow a balloon, and shop.

This reminds me of the fun house at a fair, except way more expensive. The rooms are small and gimmicky except the giant ball pit. Bring hand sanitizer and a pair of socks or they will charge you for the socks. This is a place to take photos, not to experience anything special. They make use of mirrored walls and floors and then throw some balloons or lights into them. 3 of the exhibits were malfunctioning or closed. Parking was rediculous at $9. You could just park in the street and feed the meter for an hour and your spot will be just as close. Unless you're a tik tocker doing a photo shoot, you won't spend more than an hour there. I had two 6 year olds and we were through in 45 minutes.

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

I've been to Diablo Escapes twice now and have always been impressed by the customer service. Make sure you get there 15-20 minutes early so you have time to finish any waivers and get your packs set up for the room. There is an adjacent parking lot so you shouldn't have any issue finding any spot. You can easily book online and see what difficulty level each game is. If you've done VR or escape rooms before, you can probably start with intermediate. Each game will require some communication and teamwork to solve challenges or other puzzles. It can get a little hectic, so make sure you mesh well with your group (truly). The VR component really makes you feel like you've been transported to another place - be warned that it can make you feel a little queasy if you're not used to it, but the staff are great in making sure you are comfortable. They're quick to help troubleshoot if you get stuck or anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun group outing. We went over to philz coffee after and then went to Bare Bottle Brewing for some lunch and drinks.

Well. They also have so many different things that they have available here I can't go over it all-in-one Yelp review. So let's say I had no idea what I was walking into because it was a present for my wife. I walked in and the owner was Extremely friendly. I was made comfortable and it was explained to us all the different levels that we could choose from for entertainment. They're very patient with our questions because this whole experience is completely new. He had a young man helping him on the inside and he tried to be the best help he could be and we appreciated it. All I can say is once that oculus visor went on the world I know slipped away and a world I couldn't imagine appeared and it's 3 dimensional and fully interactive. I had so much fun taking out the ogres that were trying to overrun the castle that I was just in a sweat by the end of it because it is so interactive. What a wonderful and fun experience. No matter what your age or what your interest is you might be able to find something that would be just a great way to escape reality for an hour or 2 A-day. The prices are reasonable and if you have groupon it's a win win situation. I recommend this highway to anybody of all ages from children up to adults because you can go the educational route or the adventurous route.. I chose the adventure. And I am still smiling.

We brought 11 rowdy boys and fully expected chaos. Instead, we had a smooth, organized, and genuinely fun experience. A few kids became overstimulated, and he handled it with such calm reassurance and professionalism. He struck that perfect balance of being fun while maintaining structure, which is not easy with that age group. It's rare to see someone manage that level of energy so skillfully. Management should absolutely recognize him. He represents your brand beautifully. We will definitely be back!

This was a nice gesture. We booked our time and we returned 6 mins late. Then this was when we were told we are too late so we can get a store credit or rebook. The excuse was other people in our group has already started. We didn't doubt this at the time but they have a website to look up scores of the day and we were the only ones playing this game at the San Ramon location. Not sure why we couldn't play then if we were the only ones playing anyways. We rebooked for later the same day after dinner and arrived 30 mins early. It turns out we need to sign waivers and prep time before playing. This should have been basic information given to us or at least let us know we should arrive earlier than your booked time in order to play. Just thinking logically I would want clients to prefill these out prior to their reservations. This would create less friction at start time. The crew setting us up for playtime were very helpful though and after playing they gave us a nice recap experience of our game. This was a nice touch but I wish they would have told us how the photos would be used more clearly. I wasn't even ready when taking my photo and halfway through a blink. The kids liked the game play but adults didn't have a good time. It was dizzying and exhausting to play for me and my wife and $50 a person for such an experience seems high. Would probably stay away and try to convince my kids to do the same.

We arrived 10 minutes prior to our appointment and as we were signing in on the kiosk, we were informed that they were experiencing some delays and were running 10 minutes behind on the games which actually turned out to be 30 minutes. The place looks really nice. It's located where the old Fuddruckers was and everything looked clean and new and when you walk in you're greeted with screams and laughter coming from over the partition walls where other customers are playing their maps. This is dope UNTIL it's your turn in the game. In the game we were thrown off a couple of times by screams from other players in other rooms because they were so loud and the headphones weren't noise cancelling. Several times throughout the map we were asking each other where the screams were coming from thinking they were in the game. But let's back up, as we sat and waited for our turn, we witnessed customers come out of the rooms with their gear and hang it amongst the "clean" gear. We literally had to tell one of the employees that a few customers put their vest and equipment on the wall without it being sanitized. We asked to have ours sanitized in front of us to ensure we were getting clean equipment. Our lead gave us our wrist and ankle bands and we took our picture and then we headed into the room to get the rest of the equipment. My husband's headphone and mic would not work - which delayed us another 10 minutes as they called their tech for assistance. I ended up walking over and noticing that he wasn't plugged in properly. Suggestion: Teach the staff to do a basic 1,2,3 check of all equipment before calling tech. Sometimes it's just as simple as tracing a wire and plugging it in the right place. As soon as we got his headphones to work, the game started. No instructions or anything. They had to stop, reset it, and then send us back into the instruction part of the game. If that wasn't enough, mid game they paused the game because they had to change our our batteries. That was the absolute worst. These games are not cheap. We paid about $230 ($50 per person plus tax) to play this game. You should never have to pause a game to change a battery. It interrupted our entire flow and it was hard to get back into it fully. Suggestion: Give each group one or two staff member to see them through the entire game. From set up to game viewing. That creates comfort and security - especially for first timers. Again, teach the staff to do a basic 1,2,3 check of all equipment before calling tech. Sometimes it's just as simple as tracing a wire and plugging it in the right place. It'll save A LOT of time. And lastly, because the rooms aren't closed off - offer lockers for personal belonging. San Mateo had a closed bench. I was very uncomfortable sitting my purse down in the shelf, especially since random people could just peek their head into the room - as one did while trying to fix my husbands headphone. Sandbox VR is an amazing new business and I'm happy to see them in Emeryville, but we deserve the same quality as their San Mateo location. The experience was as different as night and day, honestly. This location is closer to me so I will return, but I'll wait until later in the year once some of the kinks (hopefully) have been ironed out. The new map was amazing. I can't wait to try it again.
