The poor mall is down to like 5 stores, but I still love to stop in for some fried comfort food. There was a super fun Flea Market event today, and it brought the mall to life! This is probably the busiest Juice Express has been in years. The cashiers were nice and helpful and kept the line moving. And they even got newer menu signs since I was there last. It's a cute spot for a smoothie and a snack. I hope to see them stick around successfully or move into a different location if the mall closes.

I ordered a takumi poke bowl and my wife orders soup dumplings. I went on a walk around the building to try and walk off an old injury and to my dismay found that the entire building had some sort of plumbing issue as there was dirty toilet paper fecal water remnants that had poured into the alley from each unit. This really killed what little hope I had left. The pole bowl was listed as being served with eel and ponzu sauce but arrived with some sort of gross sweet mayo and looked completely different from the photo (it looked dull and suspect). I took two small bites of the imitation crab and rice and it was just all wrong and tasted old. I've been hospitalized from bad sushi from a place that was a lot nicer and a lot closer to the ocean than this, so I wasn't about to take my chances with raw fish with this many red flags. My wife's soup dumplings came out with no dipping sauce and looked and tasted suspiciously like they came out of a frozen bag - but at least they were edible. The last straw was that the waitress asked if I wanted a box for my bowl that I clearly didn't touch - and when I said no, she didn't even bother to ask me if something was wrong. So I ended up paying $15 for a bowl I didn't even eat and ended up going to another restaurant to finish dinner. Maybe they have something there worth eating, but I'm not really compelled to give it a second chance.

Our typical go-to order includes orange chicken, chicken fried rice, beef lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, and sides like wontons, egg rolls, and fried dumplings. The food is always served hot and fresh. We've never dined inside the restaurant, so I can't speak to the atmosphere, but our experience with both call-in orders and DoorDash has consistently been smooth and reliable. For the most part, our meal is ready in a decent amount of time, although there have been times we have had to wait a little longer. Still worth it. The portions are generous, and we almost always get a second meal out of what we order, which makes it a great value. We'll definitely keep coming back to this local favorite!
