I went to Grand China with some coworkers to pick up lunch. We all got to-go containers. I got everything I wanted and my container was full. The restaurant charges by the weight of your to-go containers, and I paid less than the lunch buffet price. So did my coworkers. The buffet is not huge like the other Chinese buffet in town, but it doesn't need to be, because the dishes they offer are absolutely delicious and satisfying! Though we were there only a short time, the trays were replenished quickly, so there was no little bits of stale food sitting around. This was the best Chinese buffet in town.....until they opened a great big giant buffet behind Walmart last month! Anyways, I'm a little girl who can't eat much in one sitting, so I started getting the food to-go instead. When you order the buffet to-go, they give you a carry out container to fill up food and you have to pay by the weight ($5.15/lb or so). That's smart because it keeps people from getting carried away and trying to stuff little eggrolls into each little remaining pocket of air. Well, it actually worked in my favor because instead of paying $7.50 for a single meal buffet, $7.50 worth of to-go food lasted me two meals! Maybe the food I eat isn't heavy? Also, the lady who owns the place is really nice. They don't open on Saturdays, but they do open Sunday afternoons for the church crowd. read more

Don't waste your time, there's other options in town. We went in at 7:30, they close at 8:30. There was noodles, rice and dried up egg rolls. When asked when they were going to put more food out, they asked what we would like them to make for us. We get there at 8:15pm and are seated we were not told that they closed at 8:30 till another customer came in at 8:30pm and they were told that there was not anymore food being brought out. Grand China is your typical Chinese buffet. There's really not much special to say about it. The exterior is a bit of a turn-off and the interior is not much better despite the fact they expanded just a few years ago. It's located across the street from the hospital so at least it makes a quick lunch stop if hospital cafeteria food is not your thing. read more

The food was sparse, cold and NOT Chinese. The glasses were dirty, and so were the plates. They sit directly across from the hospital. Next time I will go to the hospital to eat. No. Nope. No. very disappointed. Extremely greasy, even for standard Chinese take-away. The other Chinese places in town are far superior. The interior is dark and dank, not cool campy underlit but as in dark mostly likely obscuring how unclean it is. Not only did the food look unappetizing, it didn't even resemble a standard egg foo yung. My poor Mom gagged and I couldn't bring myself to take a second bite.
