To be honest, I had never been to a public laundry mat so I didn't know what to expect but this place was pretty great. There's a wide variety of sizes when it comes to the machines so you can do anything from a small delicate load to a huge load of bedding. The card system was easy to figure out and I enjoyed the snack/beverage vending machine area that had tables and chairs to relax at while you wait. I had 81lbs of clothes that needed to be desperately washed (boyfriend allergic to cat hair and we just moved in together) and they received it all without batting an eye. This is such a strange sensation. I don't understand it. I actually want to go to the laundromat. For the past couple of weeks, the in-building washing machine (which *had* been a selling point in my choosing my abode) had been broken. At first, when I discovered this, I was overcome with a feeling of dread. As in a lot of neighborhoods, I thought all of the laundromats in Logan Square were janky. I used to go to one on Fullerton that was my own personal Hell of screaming children and broken machines. But, on a recent breakdown, since my clothes were wet (yeah, I tried the broken machine even though it was unplugged, who wouldn't?) I decided I needed a more convenient location. So I tried Bubbleland since it's right down the line on the 56 bus from my apartment. I expected the worst. Holy schmoly, I got the best. This is the cleanest, most well run laundromat I've ever seen. Even compared to the ones in movies. I've been there twice and haven't seen a single "out of order" sign. And the machines are so shiny, they're almost blinding. There are also an amazing number of these wonder machines (so no need to wait for my lazy neighbor who decides to take a vacation to Florida while they have a load in the washing machine). And these miracles of upkeep (which even tell you how much time is left in your wash cycle) are amazingly inexpensive. For someone like me does small loads once a week, they have $1.60 and $2.00 washers (and it's only $3.35 for the largest machines)! The dryers are .30 per 12 minutes. Doing the math, I spent $2.90 the last time I was there for about two weeks of colors. That's about $1.10 less than I would have spent at home since the dryer in my building, how do I put this nicely, sucks (it takes three cycles to dry anything). Open 24 hours a day, there's never any worry about finding a time without annoying children. It's right next door to a KFC/Pizza Hut and a Dunkin' Donuts so food is right there while a customer waits. I mean, the only advantage for me doing laundry at home is that I can take a nap while washing. The folding tables here are spacious, but I'm thinking this activity would probably be frowned upon at clean Bubbleland. Now, napping is a big advantage. But is it worth having more aggravation doing laundry downstairs in my building? Today will tell. The machine in my building is fixed. But I'm kind of leaning toward Bubbleland. read more

A friendly neighborhood laundromat. The prices might be a little high for the washing machines and it is a little silly to pay for a reusable card, but overall it's a pretty decent laundromat. This is our go to one because it's close to home and well we bought the reusable cards. The washing machines work great, there are always plenty of dryers and unless you go at a prime time it's not super busy. There is a benefit from using the card as it ensures the customers are loyal to the store which usually improves friendliness and safety. The one thing I would like to see improved is the mopping of the floors. However, with all the foot traffic that's probably all they would be doing. There is a service where you pay to have them do your laundry but I've never done that. I will continue to come back here on a weekly basis because I can do as many loads of laundry in about a hour and a half. If I only have one load, I'll probably just go to grandmas to save money.... Let me start off by saying I haven't been to a laundromat in over 30 years and my mom has never been, but a bad experience with a new washing machine being installed and not working we were desperate to have some clean clothes. I feel the same way as Michael G. - I want to do laundry. Bubbleland actually makes the experience pleasant and I WANT to do laundry. I'm at a loss for words.... OK, I have my words back. Bubbleland is a-mazing. Don't believe me? Go in and see for yourself. First thing's first: this place is cheap. I don't mean crappy cheap. I mean inexpensive cheap. The HUGE washing machine is $4.45 (which holds four of my regular washing machine loads). Since my building washing is $1.50 per load, this is a steal. The dryers are $.30 for 12 minutes and you only need two cycles for a full dry (if you don't fill the machine to capacity). So, in total, I spent $6.25 for a weeks worth of laundry for two people (which is a lot including towels) and I would have spent at least $10.50 in my building. Gross. Second: this place is squeaky clean. There's staff people in here full time always walking around cleaning the machines and the floors. I really like the time they put in to making sure this place is spotless for customers. Third: Open 24 hours. How can this not be convenient? They even give 30% off all services if you wash between midnight and 5 a.m. It's not like I'm doing laundry at that time of day, but if I ever needed to, Bubbleland would be my laundromat of choice. Useful information: -No free WiFi here, but you can steal from Dunkin' Donuts. There are no outlets, though, so beware. -Laundry cards cost $3 and are reloadable up to $75. EVERYTHING is paid for with these cards at Bubbleland, so you have to get one. -There's millions of machines and places to fold laundry. -Only take one cart... it's rude when you bogart four of them or something. -Sometimes there's kids running around, so beware. -Come on Saturday nights... no one is in a laundromat at 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday. -Plenty of parking. -Right next to Dunkin' Donuts... yum. read more

We are bubbleland people now. This place, is clean, bright, and open 24 hours. You don't need to stuff your pockets with change, either, because they have a card that you load up. Whenever there is room, I always sit at the little tables by the vending machines- it makes me feel like a kid again. We've been using this Bubbleland's drop off/pick up laundry service for years. The staff is always really friendly, they're turn around time is excellent, and they always fold/organize everything really nicely for us. I dropped my laundry off here after an insane three weeks during which I was constantly scrambling to find time for regular life things - especially the time consuming task of laundry. I'd read their great reviews, seen their reasonable prices, and decided to splurge and use their drop off laundry service. Except evidently you have to specify "please don't shrink my clothes". I'm not talking slightly shrunk. I'm not kidding you when I say my clothes are noticeably tighter and 1/2 inch to an inch shorter. Two of my pairs of skinny jeans just plain don't fit - they are now too tight. Dresses that were once work appropriate are no longer long enough. Now I'm not talking like a little two load hand-off here. I dropped off like 2/3 of my closet. I dropped off 47 POUNDS of laundry. $50 cash changed hands. 2/3 of my closet is now too small and/or too short. I don't even know how to remedy the situation for myself but I warn you that getting your clothes back in the state you left them is not a guarantee. read more

Bubbleland is the 2nd best thing to having laundry in your building. Actually when I signed my lease (through a 3rd party) I was told there was laundry in the building. Well, apparently there wasn't and the guy who owned the place called Apt. People to tell them that. What did Apt. Ppl guy say? "Oh, no problem, that won't be a dealbreaker for her." What a wonderful 24hr laundromat. Bubbleland on Milwaukee you have now secured all of my night owl, dirty laundry business. Let me start by saying this was the fourth stop I made to an advertised as open 24 hour laundromat one frustrating Tuesday night and Bubbleland on Milwaukee you my new friend were the only one to have not lied to me. What a perfect way to start a relationship with a new customer. Truth. I love it. I also like the pay with the Bubbleland card rather than quarters system. At first I found the idea of shelling out three bucks for my own refillable Bubbleland card disconcerting (they do also have free loaners) but after not having to shove half a hundred dirty coins in a dozen filthy slots I not only accept the system, I wholly support it. The card works for the washers, dryers, vending machines and the computers in their mini internet cafe. That's right, I said internet cafe... four stations baby. I'm pretty sure they have free wi-fi. The jumbo front loading washer was under $4 and the dryers ran nice and hot. Good wash and quick dry. Solid combo. There was a drunk creepy chatty guy in a tank top but that's a small price to pay for an actual all-night facility. They even have a few tables to spread out some books, your homework, a newspaper or maybe even a delicious cup of coffee from the 24hr Dunkin' Donuts next door! The place is clean. The two employees were both helpful and nice. The laundry equipment is fairly new and works well. There is even a good cup of coffee waiting in the adjacent store front regardless the time. Winner! Truly the best laundromat I've ever been to. It's well supervised and organized. Its clean. The people who work here are helpful and kind. The color schemes are a bit overwhelming but it actually makes you happier about being at the laundromat lol. I HATE laundry. It's the most awful painful chore ever. Given these facts, Bubbleland makes it as easy as possible. It's open 24 hours (with discounts around 12:00 a.m.-I have yet to manage to stay up that late to wash clothes). The ladies that work in there are all very nice and keep the place spotless. The washers and dryers are always clean--I've never had one problem. When a washer or dryer is out of order, a sign goes up immediately and they will refund your money if need be (I haven't experienced this, but I have seen it). Negatives: It takes forever for the card readers on the washers and dryers to work. It makes me irrationally angry. It can get really hot inside and smell of donuts--which is a nauseating combination. I can take hot OR donuts, not both. Side Note: NEVER go to the Pizza Hut/KFC restaurant. I have too many bad experiences to list. STAY AWAY. It may seem like a good idea if you are hungry or thirsty--but you will regret it. read more

I bring them a bag full of my filthy man panties and smelly man-panties and several hours later I return to a bag full of neatly folded meadow breeze fresh clothing and paired and balled socks. Not even my mother produced laundry this wonderful; although she was slightly cheaper. Now if only they hard a bar inside you could waitn at my laundry life would be complete. I have, to date, never lost any clothing here. They always return the bizarre stuff and money left in my pockets. The cost is reasonable (20-30 for a big duffel bag) and they are friendly 95% of the time. Also nice is that if you are into saving money and sorting your own whites is the fact that they have a bunch of high capacity machines, hello one load per week! Word of warning; if you do choose Bubbleland skip the pocket full of quarters, they use a electronic card thing you put credits on. Bubbleland is pretty chill. I mean, it's cleaner than 99% of laundromats--you don't get the usual feeling that the washers and dryers are coated with other people's skidmarks, and the usual threat of panty-snatchers is not in the air. However, the card is a pain in the ass and the machines have trouble reading it, they're often short on carts, you'll usually have to witness someone beating their child, and--the worst offense of all--they always have DELILAH on the radio. I often assuage my aching ears with a nice donut next door. Also worth noting: at least a full third of the snack machine slots are occupied by Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Real talk. I hate doing laundry, but this place makes it bearable. It's the cleanest laundromat I have ever set foot it. It's machines are new and well kept. The employees are very helpful and friendly. My first time there, I bought a smart-card and an employee insisted on showing me around and letting me know how everything worked and how much to load in each machine. Which was awesome. The machines are your standard 30 minute wash, and they do a very good job. The only two downsides to this place are the amount of time it takes to start a machine using the smart-card (it takes time for the machine to read your card) and the homeless woman/man? that has made the sidewalk in front of the store their permanent home. Another great thing about this place is that from midnight-6am everyday all machines are 30% off I believe. This time is generally the best to wash since there are not that many people. Free wifi, vending machines, seats, private lot and drop-off service. This place is pretty awesome. I wouldn't hang out here with friends per say, but it is a great laundromat. read more

The sheer convenience of Bubbleland makes it appealing alone - that the upkeep on their washers and dryers is so consistent is what makes them worth using on a normal basis. Typically the lady and I along with one of our best friends take trips here after midnight (you can do the laundry at 30% off at that point) to get all of our stuff done and the entire process is completely painless. Load money onto the card, throw clothes into the washer and then settle in for awhile with a comic book or two. Thirty minutes later, switch from washer to dryer and read a couple more comic books. Thirty minutes later, clothes are dry (NOT damp - a very important distinction) and it's time to go. I can see where detractors might have an issue with Bubbleland - the myriad of televisions each have something different playing on them which can lend itself to a bit of audio salad if you're actually TRYING to pay attention to any particular one. That combined with some patrons bringing along their very loud children makes for a noisy atmosphere. What needs to be kept in mind here is that this is infact a laundromat, not a Friday night at Nolita. I don't even pay attention at this point. If you don't have a washer and dryer (or there isn't one in your apartment building or if the one that IS there doesn't dry the clothes properly), then Bubbleland might be your safest bet. read more

They have free WiFi and if you get here late morning/early afternoon there isn't many people and i have not seen one child around (although they do have a kids play area). The wash is inexpensive and you have multiple choices from $1.60-$4.60 for a HUGE load. Dryers are $0.30 cents. I was seriously mislead from the look of the logo, I can remember first seeing it while riding from California on the Blue line. " What is that place?" It looked like some sort of Soapy wonderland where you can Slip and Slide, I didnt even think it was a laundry mat. Perhaps, I am too big a dreamer. So naturally even though I have a washer/dryer in my building, I do my laundry here but now I have about 3 loads of laundry sitting in my hamper, and i'm sitting here with 2 Bubbleland cards- not knowing if it belongs to this location, or the one on Division. I sincerely wish they either labeled their cards or they were just able to use them at all Bubblelands. read more

Bubbleland is super clean. They do make you put a 3 dollar deposit on a card but you get it back if/when you return it. From my experience, some of their dryers are too fast (I started one dryer after another, and it finished first) some are not reliably warm enough, and while it might be nice to have TVs up there for everyone, having Maury's audience "AAHHHH!!-ing and OOOHHH!!!!-ing" at all the girls who's dudes have cheated on them for an entire hour straight was a bit much. But that's where headphones come in. Have play area for kids, internet for cheap, and again, really clean. I feel its just too expensive. There are plenty of smaller, clean laundromats in the area that are maybe a block or so further that I could probably save a few bucks a trip. I would have traded in my card for my $3 deposit but the manager had just left 10 minutes before I did. So Thurs-Tues 7AM-3PM you can trade the card in, only when the manager is there. read more

I recently moved into a new apartment and for the first time in my life, do not have laundry in my building. That being said, the concept of "small, frequent loads" is totally foreign to me, and I recently found myself with several pounds/bags of dirty laundry which would have taken me half the day to get through. In the past, I've taken these massive loads to my mom's, but on this particular occasion decided to try out the drop off service here. I had sorted everything ahead of time. (Black bag-Hot Wash/Dry, White bag-Cold Wash/Hang Dry) They ask you how you want things done, so I was relieved to have all that already set, as opposed to sorting it out there and writing instructions for each item individually at the counter. (It's a 24-hour turn around, by the way. I dropped everything off around 3, it was ready the following day. Might be different if you drop off in the early morning, I didn't clarify.) So, I just picked everything up. My laundry came back so neatly folded, somehow smelling fresher, and feeling softer than when I do it myself. When I got home and unpacked it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had even paired my socks. The employees that I met were polite, helpful and took the time to explain everything to me, which I appreciated, considering I was entrusting them with nearly my entire regular wardrobe. All and all, good first impression. I'm sure I'll use this service again, at least until I can get into the habit of doing more frequent, regular small loads. read more

And of course the same perks as the other location as well: 1) No quarters. I can just put money on the smart card. 2) 24-hours 3) Wheeled carts always available 4) Relatively cheap 5) I've never had to wait for a machine. Ever. The place is big, clean, and the equipment is nice. I wish the machines took quarters. You have to buy a card to put money on (the charge for the cards are $3). It is, however, pricey. I think the smallest machine I could find was $3.05. Granted, it holds a LOT of clothes, but I don't have that many clothes, surprisingly. So instead of spending $3.50 at another place, I paid $6.10. [Edit: Okay, they have a couple of top loading machines for $1.80, and a row of smaller machines for $2.05. I just didn't look hard enough.] But it's clean, bright, and the woman working here was very nice and helpful. I think I'm going to come back here more often. When I first started going to Bubbleland over a year ago, it was a great experience (about as great as a laundromat could get). The laundromat was kept clean, the staff was very helpful, and all the machines were kept up well. In the past couple of months, however, things seem to be going down hill: The floors are covered in dirt, hair, and garbage; The washing machines smell and are covered with soap residue; The dryers are full of lint and hair; and many of the machines are broken. Every time I've been in recently, the staff are sitting and chatting with each other, or sitting outside for a smoke while garbage and mud from shoes build up on the inside. My clothes are never clean, and always covered in lint and other people's hair after using the dryers. I can't say that it is all bad! Aside from these recent cleaning and upkeep issues, they have a huge selection of machines that are all priced by size. The prices are very reasonable, and it is great not having to wait for a machine. The location is perfect: Just off of Milwaukee by California. There are usually a lot of families there, but thankfully they have a play area for the kids. It's open 24/7, and that is a huge plus in my book! There are many perks here, I just wish I could come here and actually feel like my clothes are getting CLEAN. I've been going there one-to-two times a week for over a year now, and it's so disappointing that the laundromat isn't being kept up like it used to be.
