This laundromat is very old-school and fully coin-operated. There is no card or tap-to-pay option on the machines. An ATM is available on-site so you can withdraw cash and exchange it for coins. The photos online show older white machines where you can still open the lid after starting the wash. The machines currently in use here are different--once the door is closed and the cycle starts, it cannot be reopened until the wash is finished, so be sure everything is inside before starting. Most standard washers cost $5, the larger washer I used was $6.75, and there is an extra-large washer that costs $13. Drying is not free. Dryers cost $2.25 for one hour. All laundry essentials needed to clean your clothes--detergent, fabric softener, and related supplies--are available for purchase. They also sell small snacks, such as chips and candy (Snickers were $1.75). There is a bathroom on-site, and the space appears to be a long-established laundromat that handles a lot of wash-and-fold orders. Customer service was brief and not very upbeat when I arrived. The staff member seemed busy and may have been working alone with a large volume of laundry, which could explain the interaction, but the greeting came across as a bit abrupt. Overall, the laundromat is functional and gets the job done if you're prepared for a cash-only, coin-operated setup, but the experience is very no-frills. read more

This place is an absolute disaster. Not only have they failed to return all of my belongings, but they've also completely ruined the items I did get back. The first time I noticed missing items, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But the second time? It's clear they have no respect for their customers' property. At least 4 large white plush bath towels and 6 neon microfiber towels , that I use for cleaning have disappeared. These are things I use daily, so I know exactly what's missing. I live alone and I know exactly what I have and everything is in a set. I reached out to the owner to address the issue, and they didn't even bother to respond. The lack of accountability is disappointing. To make matters worse, the items that were returned were ruined. My light-colored clothes now have a blue-ish tint because they didn't bother to sort the laundry properly. Bright whites and light pinks are now dingy and foggy. (See pictures ) This is not a one-time mistake--it's a pattern. Take your business elsewhere unless you want your belongings stolen and destroyed. read more

I even mention their website stating will stop allowing people in at 8:30pm. They even had the door still open. To clarify they now want to close early and only allow until 7:30pm to do laundry. I honestly don't mind doing laundry. I'm a domestic diva that loves cleaning & being organized - though I'd try a new restaurant or takeout over cooking any day! One of my main things in choosing an apartment is making sure they have a washer/dryer. Well, that main feature I look for in apartments is currently broken in my place. I've been putting off going to a laundry mat and buying new socks instead of going to the laundromat. I really don't like the thought of sitting around for 2 hours waiting for my undies to be cleansed. I have ADD and need to be constantly on the move! I did some searching online and started reading about drop off laundry services. What is this magical wizardry!? Something only the upper 1% can partake in I'm sure! Lo and behold that is definitely not the case! Once I read about the service, I went straight to Yelp to find places that offered this cooleyhighharmony service and found Mighty Clean Laundry! Mighty Clean Laundry rates are way cheap - 65 cents a pound. Be sure to pack your laundry in something that isn't heavy like a laundry bag and not a huge heavy hamper as that counts towards the cost. I called prior to going in to ask some questions and they were very helpful in answering my questions. You can pay before or when you pick up. If you drop off early in the morning, it's usually done that same day but worst case scenario is it's done the next day. They task cash, credit or debit. They open at 6am and close at 11pm! Perfect for me because I leave Chi Town at 6 to trek out to the burbs for my 7 to 4 job. Daily grind be killing me yo. Mighty Clean Laundry texted me when my laundry was done the next day. I was so happy with the ease & convenience, I dropped off another load when I picked up. The guy working is very nice and made me not feel like such a noob dropping things off. I'm so insanely happy with the convenience of this service, cheap cost and time it saves me - I think I've made a life change for the better and will absolutely continue using Mighty Clean Laundry! read more

Great service! My dog peed on my weighted blanket and I washed it in my washer at home. Unfortunately it was too heavy to dry in my stacking dryer. I called Mighty Clean Laundry and asked if I could bring in my wet weighted blanket for drop off and pick up. Tim instantly said yes. Tim was so incredibly kind and helpful. Excellent service. Laundry machine in my building is not the greatest so I dropped off 3 XL bags of laundry (clothes, delicates, towels, sheets) one afternoon last week around 3PM. Owner was friendly and they are super affordable!!!! There was a really quick turnaround - Picked up my three bags with everything neatly folded the next day around 1:00 PM! I finally got rid of my washer after many issues with it and have been struggling to find a place for laundry . Most services are so expensive and then don't do a good job and take days to finish the laundry. I dropped off my laundry this morning and a few hours later I received a text that my laundry was ready for pick up. They are reasonably priced as well. I spoke with a woman this morning when I dropped off my laundry who was very friendly and polite. A man was there this evening when I came to pick up my laundry and was just as nice and even opened the door for me when I was bringing my laundry to my car. I will definitely be back. Had to find a place to get laundry done while some construction was being done at my rental flat. So glad I tried MCL out. I saw on here that laundry wash & fold was $.65/lb. It is actually $.75/lb now. Still so reasonable! Dropped 85 pounds off at 10am, and it was done at 8:30pm. I picked up the next morning. They had hung all the clothes I instructed them to, and everything was folded very nicely. They use All Free & Clear, so clothes don't have a fresh smelly smell. They are just clean. After two weeks of a broken dryer in my apartment, I decided to give in and go to a laundromat. My lack of doing laundry for the prior four weeks was paying me back with such a punishment. I wasn't too fond of the idea since laundromats are stereotypically known to be dirty and grimy, but after my experience at Mighty Clean Laundry, I can honestly say this is a laundromat like no other. It's practically the Holy Grail of laundromats. First of all, THIS PLACE IS SO CLEAN. It's probably actually cleaner than my own laundry room at my apartment. The counters are clean, the floors are pretty clean, the machines are clean, and more. I definitely need to get the number of their cleaning company. I didn't feel like I was going to leave with dirtier clothes, and in fact, was so excited to leave with cleaner items. Since it was my first time in a laundromat (adult moment), I was a bit confused as to how everything worked, but Timmy was extremely helpful and explained everything. There are 3 different sizes of washers: small, medium, and large (mostly the latter two). A medium wash (which is still pretty large) is $3.00, and a large wash is $4.50. To dry, it costs 25 cents for 12 minutes. Most of my clothes dried in about 24 minutes, but some needed 36, which is still only 75 cents. Regardless, this is actually cheaper than the dryer at my own apartment. The machines use quarters, so either come with noisy pockets or they also have a machine that gives you change for bills, even for $5 and $10 bills, which is so convenient. They also have washing and drying supplies, detergent, etc. for sale just in case you forget yours. I went on a Monday night, so it was pretty empty, but Timmy mentioned that it gets pretty packed on the weekends. He was so helpful and pleasant to talk to, and I definitely hope to be back. But I also hope my dryer gets fixed...eeekk, dilemma. read more

I love the drop off service!!! It takes a day or at most two. Sometimes even same day. It just depends how much you drop off. They'll text you when it's ready. Very fair pricing and the man that runs it is awesome. I've also used the washers here it's coin nothing like a bubbleland card. It's cheaper than my coin laundry in my unit. DO NOT DROP YOUR LAUNDRY OFF HERE. Last week we dropped off a lot of laundry and when we went to pick it up a few hours later, it didn't seem like there was enough stuff. We asked and the owner assured us we had everything. WRONG. When we unpacked the baskets later on, they had lost about 20 pounds of our laundry including expensive running clothes, jeans and a few irreplaceable items from vacations and events. We went back to complain and the owner said the cameras had been cleared since we'd been there and he said his employee swore we didn't drop off the things we said we were missing. The owner wouldn't do anything to try to make up for the issue at all; he basically claimed we were wrong about our stuff being gone. I don't know if they accidentally gave our stuff to someone else or it was stolen, but I do know I dropped off over $300 worth of clothing I'm never getting back. I used to really like this place but I will NEVER, NEVER go back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to get the clothes they drop off back. read more

I had a similar problem to another post below - they do indeed have good prices for dropping off your laundry and for a while were providing a great service. However, recently they misplaced a significant amount of my clothing and made zero effort to figure out what went wrong. The owners claimed that because they were not the ones to receive the drop-off that they can't be sure that it was actually ever dropped off. This seemed ridiculous to me because their records showed the number of pounds I dropped off and the amount I picked up was significantly less. Overall - be very weary of this place, they are nice to you until something goes wrong and then they disappear. read more

I was told by the owner since I was only there an hour I didn't need my Diabetic Alert Service Dog, and I should leave him in the car, that there are people that don't like dogs. I did my best to educate him, his only response was "Here we go again." I'd been there at least 5 times in the past year, all accompanied by my service dog, and he insisted he'd never seen him there before. I'll never go back. They also have raised their prices twice in the past year, half of the dryers don't even work, so you end up spending twice as much to use them. read more

I bought a large laundry bag from them, hold about 30 lbs of my clothes. But I've seen baskets and trash bags being used. read more

Just walked in at 9:10 pm, after reading that this laundromat is open until 11 pm. Door was open so I walk in to inquire (I was confused. If your washers and dryers don't take forever, then why is your last wash almost three hours before "closing"? First person I talked to said I couldn't, then a guy said use the washers on the side the woman wasn't cleaning yet. They said last wash is at 8:30 pm, and I understand the last wash being an hour or two before closing, but this was really confusing. Plus the people in there were unorganized and rude. They kept saying yes, then no, then yes, then no to me washing at this time. When I go to convert my dollars to coins, the guy was saying you gotta hurry up, try to hurry up. It gave me so much unnecessary anxiety that I left and said I'd go to a different one tomorrow. Lol. No one with that attitude gets my coins for an 80 lb wash. read more
