So in we went. My oh my what a find. Great place. Great atmosphere and decent decor. The server was a lovely guy who was very personable. He gave us the menu and as I read down the page my mouth began to water. We opted to share some buffalo wings with the medium sauce although we were asked were we brave enough to try the "suicide" sauce to which I quickly declined. They were accompanied with a blue cheese dip. The wings were soooo tasty and the heat of the sauce was cooled by the blue cheese dip and this left you wanting more and more. I would definitely recommend trying the wings! For main we both had a steak sandwich/sub with cheese, sauted peppers and onions that came with a choice of side and slaw. The side I chose was sweet potato wedges. The sandwich was fantastic and full of flavour. The sweet potato wedges were by far thee best sweet potato wedges I have ever eaten outside of my own house! My plate was well and truly cleaned by the end of the meal. I will definitely be back to try some of the other delicous sounding dishes on the menu!!

We headed down the street to Hickory's, which we'd found online. We're from New Mexico and Texas, so we've had our fair share of bbq. The manager was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. Not just for bbq outside the US, but in general. One of many pleasant surprises on our trip. I would definitely head there again if I'm ever near Belfast.

It was burgers all round and they did not disappoint, good taste and ample portion size. The kids of course leaving just enough room for ice cream. I haven't had the opportunity to sample the food but I've heard good things and will update if I ever go. The only points that let Tates down for me are: 1. Through Yelp, I had heard about The Perch that from the pictures looked like a cool place to grab a drink. Little did I realize how cool the bar really is when we made our way down this side street and discovered the entrance. The outdoor rooftop bar is located on the fifth floor in the historic Linen Quarter, which can be accessed through a series of twisting and turning hallways before reaching an old school sliding door lift, which one of the door people take you up. Upon reaching the rooftop, you certainly understand why the owners call the bar "The Perch" because it feels like a bird perch between the various bird perches hung over the bar and the overall decor that has an open-air approach, combined with both a 19th Century steampunk meets polynesian feel. Unlike most bars, The Perch only has in stock a few spirits on the shelves (whether this is due to the pandemic or the actual intent). But from my observation, there seems to be a purpose for this as they focus on making a handful of cocktails -- and making them well, they do. The Brambles was my favorite cocktail that was refreshing and delicious, while the Aperol Springs was tasty but strong.
