You've gotta visit the beaver! I first heard of this place via a YouTube channel (the endless adventure) and how it's slowly becoming a must see part of Americana. So when on a foodie road trip, I saw that a Buc-ee's was on the way. I had to visit! It's a gas station on crack! I mean that in a good way. It's huge. Even my wife commented that it's a bit much! More gas pumps than you can count. Well you could if you wanted to geek out. So much to buy, so much food cooked inside. So much merchandise! Yes we got a little buc-ee! And yes we even got a souvenir shot glass. We didn't get our photo taken, unlike the people who asked my wife to take their photo. Things are reasonably priced, the gas is a good ten cents cheaper than elsewhere and we got another twenty cents off with my gas buddy account. Go here if you're passing by! read more

I don't get the ENTHUSIASM over the beaver (yes, he's cute, but...) ;P DEFINITELY lots of gas pumps & food is good (especially pulled pork sandwich & banana pudding). High hopes for great food were quickly trashed along with the sandwiches and fries we purchased. The store is overwhelming and lots of stuff to see and buy. The prices were very high (IMO) for sandwiches in the cold cases. $8!! I don't know that I will try anymore sandwiches since we probably threw away $20 worth of food before we left the parking lot. The fries were horrible. First order they were cold and limp. We asked for new ones and we're given dirty looks. If they build one near me( which is rumored to happen) I might go there and try the stuffed chicken or the brisket. The best part of our visit was my daughter loving the fresh made jerky. This my first Buc-ee's experience and at first it's overwhelming. It was crowded and obviously very popular. It's one of those places that has a lot of grab-n-go food. They have a lot that is fresh and made in house. The restrooms were very busy and also well maintained. There are a lot of cute souvenir items that you buy on impulse and then wonder why. I never in my life thought I'd want to move into a convenience store! All I can say about Buc-ee's is that it's not you, it's me. It must be obviously me because at both of the locations that I visited recently, there was a chaotic theme park like scene with a lot of Buc-ee's fans. There were people everywhere and it was just too much for me. Additionally, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary about Buc-ee's that would make it such a tourist attraction. I did appreciate the number of gas pumps though, which made it easy to fill up. Other than that, I give this place 3 stars, mainly because it appears to be a lot of hype. read more

If you're going to stop at one of the two locations in Tennessee, make it this one. WAY better than the newer one in Kodak. It is busy, but not overwhelmingly so. Buc-ees is where it's at. It's crowded but it's because everyone knows what is up. We stopped in to this particular one on our way to Nashville and I had to show the girls with me what it was all about. I got me some good snacks and road-trip food while I was there and I also had to bring some jerky home to my husband because it's his favorite. I made sure to grab the chopped brisket sandwich after hearing so many people rave about it. I'll for sure get it without sauce next time but the meat was tender and delicious. Didn't get a chance to visit Buc-ee's in TX, glad to find the advertisement on highway while visiting TN, so we decided to get off at exit 320 and check it out. Unexpectedly we ended up spending an hour here lol. The store is huge, it has goods from other brands and its own brand. It also has snacks, condiments, seasonings from its own and other brands. Last but not least, they sell freshly made food here as well, including but not limited to sandwiches, tacos, potato chips, nuts, fudges, bakery goods, beef jerky in various flavors. [They also offer free samples in giant pieces.] Among the food we tried and bought, we liked the cherry flavored jerky and sliced brisket sandwich the most. As someone who usually doesn't eat fudges, I wish they sell fudges in smaller pieces. The size they have are still too much for me. PS - here also has the most clean restrooms in the gas station/service areas I have been to. When the lady's room was almost full, there was also a staff lady directing people where to go, just like the fitting room experience at Loft. read more

I stopped at Buc-ee's to see what all the fuss is about while on a road trip. It's like the Walmart of gas stations/convenience centers and draws the same clientele. They're out of TX and smoked brisket is the big deal at their central food area. I had a pulled pork sandwich instead and it was just eh. Even though it was around 8pm they were still bringing out full trays of hot just prepared food. I thought I might get a tshirt from their huge branded cartoonish designs with Buc-ee himself on them. I was quickly turned off just walking in the front door when I was met with a huge display of tee shirts plastered with the typical false patriotism freedom jargon that are magnets for the DJT crowd. Overall I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Complete let down. The main road in and out is called Genesis, coded for the Bible lovers. Needless to say we know who's coffers are being filled with donations from all the profits and I doubt it's churches, if you know what I mean. There's one being built off the exit for Dollywood and other Pigeon Forge attractions where it's sure to be another mob scene for those wanting to baptized by the beaver. read more

This place has a lot going for it, size, fuel availability and price, variety of food and other offerings inside. We stopped first a few days ago for fuel and to check it out. We ended up getting three kinds of jerky to try. All were good. Today we stopped to top of the fuel tank and grab breakfast on our way out of town. At 540 am, they only had about half of their breakfast items out. One guy was working on it alone, and he was working, but he was alone-how fast can he be? We tried the brisket and and taco and the bacon egg and cheese biscuit. Brisket was great. Biscuit was good. Eggs on both were very soft and had a weird flavor. I am very sad to say that while I love Buc-ee's, their coffee has taken a bit of a dive towards tasting watered down. I have gone to Buc-ee's almost every morning and I get myself some dark roast coffee and something for breakfast. I am pretty simple, I like my coffee black and I absolutely fell in love with the dark roast coffee. But over the past couple of weeks it has started tasting really watered down. A huge truckstop with multiple layers of gas pumps and an amazing amount of diverse food available inside the massive store. I bought three burritos and I wasn't even that hungry because everything looks so good. The burritos actually ended up to be very good for truckstop food. so many people inside the store, but it was organized chaos. The restrooms are very, very friendly and private checkout is a breeze, even though the place is very crowded. Don't be afraid to go in there.... I'm a fan of Bucee's bathrooms...always clean making it a perfect stop on road-trips. Some of the other parts of buccees needs improvement. We got some breakfast items...breakfast taco with bacon, breakfast burrito and the breakfast eggs, sausage and cheese biscuit. We all found the items to be inedible...the eggs are awful. They are soft, wet and squishy. I watched them make the egg biscuits with a row of biscuits and cheese and watched them use an ice cream scoop to put a scoop of what looked like masked potatoes...but it was the egg. Take my advice and avoid ANYTHING with egg. I also had the fruit cup with cantaloupe, pineapple and grapes. It was delicious and fresh. We always get the fresh made jerky, bohemian garlic flavor. I'm no way near a Buc-ee's so when we were on a road trip, I made sure it was planted somewhere on our final destination. The hubs and I were en route to my mother in laws place for thanksgiving. I knew from previous research there was one in Tennessee. Yes my better half ensured that we would stop to get gas there lol I mean we have to fuel up, and it's a great place to grab food with clean bathrooms after hours of driving. The first buc-ees I went to was in Texas, and that was it. From thereafter I knew it was a stop that was needed on every trip if in the vicinity. The last ones we visited was in Florida. I don't care that this is a gas station. It's massive with jerky, bbq, brisket, pulled pork, sandwiches, fudge, pecans, buc-ees adorned everywhere you turn, and friendly employees. We walked out of there the first time heading to moms with a brisket taco, caramelized pecans and Buc-ees jalapeño nuggets. Highly recommend those nugs. The second stop on the way home we did splurge over $100. :::slapping my forehead:::I know but guys brisket is not a cheap meat. It was fresh, sliced, chopped, and doused in BBQ. It was lunchtime, and the sandwiches are available verses just brisket and sausage tacos for breakfast. They were easily accessible to grab, and it was replenished quickly to feed the masses. The bathrooms are clean. Yes it is true lol Our take home was a Bbq pulled pork sandwich, chopped brisket, sliced brisket, Texas cheese steak burrito, buc-ees hot sauce, two Buc-ees jalapeño cheese nugs, chips fried fresh made in house, a variety box of fudge, sour green apple balls, watermelon sour strips, lime and chili pork rinds, hot and spicy pork rinds, pecan roll, caramelized pecans in a paper triangle shaped bag, and a side of condiments. It was a long ride home lmao. It can be pricey so keep and plan that in mind. This was a treat and not often repeated. It is true what they say about a sausage on a wrap for $7-8 bucks. Inflation can do that. However, sandwiches and wraps in general fall around $8- $10 normally. Look at subway, jersey mikes, which which and etc. Its the preconceived notion that gas stations will have gas station prices. But Bucees is an experience with clean bathrooms! A cross between Cracker Barrel, Wegmans and a neighborhood store on the scale of a super Walmart with 60 gas pumps. We stopped in for my sons first experience and it was a bit overwhelming with Buc-ees branded merchandise EVERYWHERE from cups to cashews, chips, soda and sleepwear. Service is always friendly. Store is bright and clean. Shelves well stocked. Selection is huge and the Brisket sandwiches and homemade chips are worth the stop alone. We could not stay long as it's snowing, but we will be back again for a sweatshirt or burrito. read more

Our younger kids learned of this place and begged to go so we skipped our normal lunch at lunch time and place and drove until 4pm home time to get here and find every gas pump dead on the biggest travel weekend - Christmas. Just bags over every pump handle. Either they ran out or the pumps all died. All 50-100 of them toast. Worst part is every one had a car parked in front of them too. So you think some are working no folks just figured it was a parking spot. We got some food and snacks. But not being able to fill up really sucked. Place has tons of stuff. Didn't s check it all out as still a little Leary kf lots of people post pandemic. Food, snacks, gifts, decorative stuff you name it. But not having any gas really ruined the experience. Was hoping they'd have DCFC charging as well but I didn't see it. Either they may or it's well hidden. We didn't have our EV at this trip but would have skipped it since no charging. Would think they'd put them in talk about a captive audience folks hanging around for 20-30 min while charging tend to buy stuff. read more

First of all, gas is on sale here compared to California where it cost me $4.99 a gallon 2 weeks earlier. It only cost $3.16 a gallon here. They had rows and rows of gas pumps. No waiting necessary like at Costco. The store inside was big, clean and sold all kinds of snacks for a road trip. The brisket sandwich was delicious! You need souvenirs? They have them here. Holy cow, it is an experience when coming to Buc-ee's. You need to stop and check out. Plenty of gas pumps. Even plenty with no ethanol. Then park your car and head inside to what seems like a grocery store and oversized cracker barrel shopping. They even had Buc-ee the beaver greet us.
