Clean, friendly, well-stocked grocery store. Lots of fresh produce and a good looking meats section. Prices were quality, too.

I am so sad! In preparation of my mother moving into the Fairfield Glade area, I went into this gorgeous store on a Sunday afternoon. None of the staff was friendly, with the exception of the deli staff. The worst experience was checking out. All the register staff seemed to be young either high school or college students with morose faces and zero customer service and support. It was so bad that I actually asked the register kid named Joshua if he was having a bad day. At that point, he seemed to put a smile on his face because he realized that I had called him out on this. I was hoping for an amazing experience as my mom is used to a grocery store where she knows the staff and they genuinely want to provide a wonderful shopping experience. Service. I was in the Fairfield glade food city today (8 may 2026) at 10pm. The young trainee on duty was not allowed to scan alcohol. Instead of going to get the supervisor immediately, she said, her supervisor was the only person in the entire store that could scan alcohol and she was outside on break and you'll just have to wait. I said I'll go fetch her. I went outside speaking loudly, we need assistance in the store all across the front outside, nothing. I went back in and said she is not out there on break. She said she is in her car smoking. I said you go get her immediately then because y'all are here to provide customer service. She did. That is inexcusable and wholly unprofessional. That supervisor deserves a reprimand. read more

I am moving to Fairfield Glade soon, so I wanted to check out the closest grocery store. I must admit, I didn't expect much, but was very pleasantly surprised. Store was clean, shelves were stocked, and employees very friendly and helpful. Great selection of food, including a Café and Starbucks kiosk. Oh, and on most items, their prices were better than where I currently shop! I'm looking forward to making this my weekly, grocery store! read more

Got fried chicken from their deli, called about the freshness and they said just tell us what you want and what time you'll be here and we'll have fresh ready for you. Got there had to wait 3 minutes and yum yum fried chicken not greasy at all. Thanks read more

I have informed the Peavine Rd. store on 5 different occasions that they have stocked cat food in the dog food section. After telling them 5 times, it is still in the same place. If your dog has eaten "Evolve", make sure it is for dogs and not the seafood medley for cats. It is extremely dangerous and can cause kidney failure. It's been 5 times they have been informed. They obviously don't care read more

I used to love going to food city for the sushi but within the past year or two the quality went downhill and the sushi started tasting hard and old. Barely any flavor and wasn't fresh at all. Something changed about it and I won't eat anymore of it...pretty unfortunate read more

Really a great store, plenty of selection, and best prices around!! Nice and helpful staff. The sore is clean and never horribly crowded. Grocery points are available for gasoline to help out there, too. Don't miss the 5/$19.99 (or once in a while, 5/$14.99) for trays of selected meats, bacon, Mac/cheese, etc.. read more

If they ever build a Publix within 10 miles of this joke of a grocery store, they will never see me again. The self check out is always a hassle and most of the 18 year old baggers don't have a clue and couldn't care less. The produce is occasionally fresh. Occasionally. With the Corona Virus a reality, I applaud Food City's effort at disinfection. However, when I arrived this morning I had to select my cart from the qeue inside the store. I then had to handle it to push it over to where the disinfectant wipes normally were and a fellow with a spray bottle and a wipe sprayed the handle and wiped it off. It would be better had I touched an already cleaned cart and not contaminated my hands. The cart, at this point may have been clean, but my hands had already been contaminated. read more

This place is great. They have a small organic section. I am only visiting, but they had everything I needed. I have not fully checked out the meat section, but with produce, and other things I needed they had pretty much what I need for my trip. They have a nice salad bar, and olive bar. I'm not quite sure it if was organic, but like I said they do have organic options. It looks like Crossville was a dry county, and Food City is now just setting up a wine shelves. There is beer, but right now when we looked they are still setting up the wine section. The staff is friendly, and the place is pretty clean. It's been my go to place! read more

Beware of bakery department not practicing safe handling of food.

Great meat, clean store, decent variety, but priced rather high. Overall great place to get fresh cut meat for the grill but I'd do the bulk of the rest of my shopping elsewhere. Also they do the card thing so make sure you get one or you'll pay an artificially inflated price. read more

Food City - Store front - Grocery Near Me - Crossville, Tennessee

My last visit did not go very well. The workers were all running around yelling. No one really looked like they knew what they were doing. I even had to bag my own groceries, and I went through an actual line not self checkout. I normally go there to avoid Walmart, but I was less than satisfied. Let me just say that I love their meat department. It's all about service and they'll apply rubs and just generally have a lot of great ready for the grill options in their counter. The store is clean as well. Their prices are a little high in comparison to other chains but they have a card that helps take the price down a little. Decent beer selection. No wine or liquor due to this county in Tennessee's odd liquor laws. Decent selection of grocery items. Produce is decent but not a huge selection. I prefer this place over the Wal-mart primarily because of their meat department. read more

This review is not for the selection, but for the quality and customer service. While visiting the area in June 2012, I bought a little over five pounds of ground beef. Two days afterwards, when I was ready to cook it, the meat was brown. I am not a novice at cooking, and I have cooked my share of ground beef. However, this was definitely some suspicious looking meat. I called the store and was told to bring the meat in and talk to the store manager. The next morning I saw the store manager and showed her the meat. I also mentioned that when I bought it, I had noticed that the area I got the meat from was being worked on. Obviously, at the time I didn't consider this to be an issue, but in retrospect, it occurred to me that the meat probably wasn't being kept as cold as it needed to be kept. The store manager called the meat manager, who heard my story. I caught some looks thrown between the two and apparently the meat mgr, who was behind me, was mouthing something about the situation because the store manager mouthed back, "I know, I know". Then the store manager sighed heavily and complained that she was going to have to write up two different slips for the refund since I was also returning the unused, unopened hamburger buns. Meanwhile, the meat manager explained that unless ground beef is kept at the back of a refrigerator that isn't opened much, then it will turn brown. It was like he was digging his own grave because that is exactly where the meat had been...in the back of a mostly closed frig! I told him as much and he replied, "well, you do what you got to do to get your money back." And I did. A few suggestions for the managers at FC: 1 - The customer is always right. 2 - Treat everyone like you would like to be treated. read more
