Please do not give this marina your business! We rented a pontoon from them on…read more Saturday. They are not customer service oriented at all! They were rude when we picked it up. Then every time we tried to take a group out on it, it was extremely difficult to start. Even the woman who showed us how to start it had problems and then showed us the "trick" on how to start it. The boat had duck tape all over it, cob webs and the prop even had pieces knocked out everywhere! We finally called them and asked them to come and pick it up because it was more trouble than it was worth. When the owner came to pick it up and my husband asked if we could possibly get a partial refund since we weren't able to use it much and turned it in early, he replied rudely "if you had listened to how to start it then you wouldn't have had any problems!" He even had some trouble starting it and when he did he had to immediately put it in gear and it jumped forward. Not the way you should have to start a boat. We own a boat and had several people who own boats or have owned them and no one could believe the problems we had and how he had to start it. As he was driving away he reached down and handed me my cash deposit and practically ran over me. I said we'll be sure and tell everyone not to rent from you and he replied everyone loves this boat - I don't see how they possibly could! Now I know why their name is Last Resort Marina, even if they were the "last resort" I would NEVER rent from them again!!!

There is interpretive nature center building, but every time we have visited this building has been closed. If you are looking for some nice relaxing trails, this is the place for you! Just watch out for goose droppings - there are usually several ducks and geese around the ponds!

A great rec area with so many trails to explore about. It's definitely got more elevation gains and…read morefalls that make it a bit more challenging than other hikes, but it's highly enjoyable. My favorite trail here is the Haven Hill Loop via the Blue Trail which clocks in at about 4 and a half miles. It's great year round, but in the spring it is particularly muddy. It can get a little challenging at times here because the park isn't as well kept and well marked as I'm used to at other Michigan state parks and rec areas, but nonetheless, it's a great time! I do find the hike gets a bit monotonous at points because the scenery doesn't change a lot, but then you get onto a boardwalk and it looks SO cool! Love it!

The race itself was well organized and the trail was in very good shape considering that it was raining the entire time. I can't comment on how well it's marked since the race director marks the trail for the course. I can say that it was beautiful and the woods and it would be a fun place for hiking too. Fall in Michigan is gorgeous and is definitely a time I would recommend visiting here. I will for sure be back to run more on these trails.
