I did not know they buy and sell used gun until I saw someone walk in with one. Just like a Brass Pro or Cabela, they have everything you need for outdoors activities. You might find some good deal especially during holiday season. PSA does sell ammo for cheaper price, marketing and sales need to take note. Service is pretty good, they are willing to answer all your questions and be very patient. Problem is this store is kind of out of the way, it is very noticeable next to I-75 but it is also hidden behind Oakland Mall. read more

Finally the sales associate asked if I wanted to see something, I told him the gun I wanted to see he then walked away he then walked away and asked another customer what he wanted. Young man at the service desk looked like he was new and very nice. I have never been treated like this in any store. We bought what was supposed to be a brand new go-kart on Monday, June 9. Spent over $1,000 on it. Got it home--it doesn't even work. Called the store right away, and they hit me with, "Oh, we don't put gas in them for safety reasons." Fine, whatever--but the thing still doesn't run. Then comes the real kicker: "No refunds." EXCUSE ME? That was never mentioned when we bought it. Not one word about a no-return policy. We drove over an hour to buy this piece of junk, and now we are stuck wasting even more time and money trying to fix something that was broken the second we got it home? The staff and the manager couldn't care less. Zero sympathy. Zero accountability. Why are we being punished for their faulty product? Our money was taken fast enough, but now when the product is defective, suddenly it's "not their problem." So now we're expected to pay more out of pocket, deal with shipping, call the manufacturer, waste more gas and time--just to get what we already paid for? Unbelievable. These companies are more than happy to take your money for a broken product they know doesn't work, and then put all the responsibility on the customer to fix it. Given the popularity of hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, and other outdoor activities is Michigan, you'd think there'd be more stores catering to these activities in South Oakland county, but the number has shrunk over the years. There's a Cabelas over by Selfridge, and a Bass Pro Sports up in Auburn Hills, but this is the only big outdoors store within 30miles of me. (I don't count Dunhams, which caters mainly to team sport activities.) Sportsman's Warehouse is the only big box store in the area that caters to traditional outdoor activities, and while it's no Cabelas, it's not bad. The archery selection is fair if you're a fan of compound bows or crossbows, but the last time I looked that had on,y two recurves or longbows. There's a lot of fishing gear for fans of spinning and bait casting, but not a lot of quality fly fishing gear. Selection in most departments is a lot narrower than you'll find at Cabelas, and not all sizes are in stock. Several times I've gone there looking for shoes and boots but couldn't find any 12s in what I was looking for. I went looking for a range bag a while ago and found just a handful of bags. The firearms selection is decent if you're looking for a 9mm auto or an AR clone, but you won't see a wide range of .22 rifles or pistols. The reloading equipment section is very thin, with only a handful of powders, cases, and bullets. Ammunition selection is wide in areas like 9mm and .223, but thinner in other areas. The .22RF selection is a seemingly random selection that changes, probably depending on what available. Still, I do visit regularly, and sometimes find good deals. I picked up a Frog Togs rain jacket that was on sale not long ago, and sometimes you'll see something interesting in the used firearms section. If you don't have a regular sporting goods store nearby, and you do t want to make a long trek to Cabelas, it's a hand place for many supplies. read more

Matt and Christie were excellent to work with: Matt was extremely knowledgeable. He most importantly took his time to explain everything to someone who is very new at exploring outdoor activities. I was not familiar with the regular tent set up and was extremely difficult therefore I had to return it. This store is the Dunham's of hunting, there is no one there to assist you. My husband made a purchase online and received an email that his item is ready so we drove 30 minutes to the store (which means a 30 minute drive home) to find out the item was not available and wouldn't be until tomorrow. I was also interested in purchasing a tent and seeing if they have inflatable kayaks but after receiving zero assistance while in the area for over 20 minutes we left. read more

Came here earlier today with my dad since he's a huge outdoors guy and I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised! They had an enormous area of fishing and hunting items (tonsssss of lures, live bate, rods, guns, ammo, traps ect), jerky/sausage (and seasonings), equipment, clothing and shoes! The staff members were great and plentiful (especially bc they opened a couple days early) but constantly asking if we needed any help! What can I say? I went in and saw that almost no one was wearing a mask. There was no posting on the doors or windows regarding masks and the young woman at the checkout counter was not wearing a mask. If they don't give a crap about their staff's or their customers health I don't give a crap about their business. I wonder how many deaths their policies or lack of policies have caused. This review is based on my experience 2 months ago during Covid shutdown: I stopped by to meet some friends who were picking up some handguns they ordered. After browsing by myself a bit, I noticed they had a great selection of guns in stock as well as ammo. This was the first and only place with ammo available during the Covid shutdown!! I am so impressed with that alone. After picking up some ammo, I went to browse the rest of the store since it was my first time walking in. I love how everything is organized in its specific section - clothing, fishing, canoes, hiking, camping, etc. When I went to checkout, I joined the rewards club and the staff were ALL really happy, friendly, and accommodating. I don't think I've seen happier staff anywhere else, especially during this time. I look forward to doing some more outdoor/ hobbie shopping here. :) read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered a rifle 3 TIMES and each time it got canceled. Last time I ordered the rifle was may 31 and I have called 3 times asking about my order because the order just said pending shipment for weeks and never changed. When I contacted the store at 14 mile and Troy the staff was rude, not helpful, and seemed like they didn't even wanna talk to you. Today June 14 I called a 4th time where they told me that my order was canceled from the first day I ordered it which I was never told during the 2 weeks and 3 calls I made. Everytime I contacted sportsmen warehouse they told me they will send me an email with a tracking number and I never received one. I was referred here by a friend and let me tell you he was absolutely correct about this place. As I was walking in a gentleman named Phil greeted me at the door and directed me to where I needed to go. I was looking to purchase a compact .40 caliber firearm and had researched some on their website prior to visiting the store however I left the list of the few I had narrowed it down to at home. My friend told me they offered no interest for twelve months so I applied for a credit card first before going back to look at the guns. The guy that did my credit app was cool I think his name was Jesse. He asked if I had a field & stream or a Dick's rewards card I did not so he signed me up for that too. The rewards card allows you to receive 10% back on purchases (great deal here). If you don't have one you have to sign up. Mind you it's 10% back not 10% off. You also have a choice if you have a credit card with them to get the 10% back OR get no interest for 12 months I chose the no interest. Now off to look at the firearms I approached the counter where a tire kicker was pulling the salesman's chain making him show every riffle in the store. The salesman, Rob, asked if I had a question I asked if he had any compact or sub compact .40 cal handguns he immediately showed me the two I found online. He stated that one was on sale and was a good value. Originally I picked the one that was not on sale and it took him a long time to find it but came back showed me to features. I decided to go with the first one and felt bad that I sent him on this wild goose chase then changed my mind but he was so kind and didn't seem to mind. He had me sit at one of three computers to complete the paperwork which was a much easier process than other places I have purchased firearms. While he reviewed and completed the rest of the paperwork I looked around for other things and I kept interrupting him to ask questions about ammo, safes, and mace. Not once did he get irritated with me and my millions of questions. He was so helpful that I bought more stuff. As he is preparing to finalize the sale he calls his manager over to double check all the paperwork and who comes walking up? That's right Phil the guy that greeted me at the door. Right then I knew why the employees are so laser focused on providing great customer service. I thought Phil was a regular employee because I saw him moving boxes and helping customers which is so unlike most managers these days who typically hide from customers. Then to top off the sale Rob walked me to the door shook my hand and thanked me. Classy touch! I love this place. Can't wait to comeback!!! read more

This place looks slick on the outside, as well on the inside. I liked the area with the big comfy chairs and fireplace, nice touch. Huge selection of cammo clothing, with Under Armor and Carhartt (sp?) seeming to be the dominant brands. Nice selection of boots/shoes, but the price on my favorite Keen hikers was higher than at REI. I thought it odd that we practically had the store to ourselves on an early evening so close to Christmas, not sure if that's a good sign for the success of this store. read more

Giving one star is being generous! First and last gun purchase here. They are SOOOOOOO disorganized. You order online and do a store pick up you still have to wait for hours like a regular customer. What are the chances of that. Got here I've been here for over 2 hours on a regular Friday still haven't got rung up. They definitely need a better system and better people to help run the business. Absolutely horrible. Piss poor customer service. Incorrect and false advertising. Complete waste of my time. I went here to purchase a sidearm. I finished the background check, all of the required paperwork and finally was ready to pay. Little did anyone know, the employee grabbed the wrong box from the back inventory which included an extra accessory and actually rang up for $250 more than what it was tagged sitting on the shelf. I was told I could either pay the extra $250 for something I never asked for or to completely re-do all of the paperwork & background check so they could go grab the correct box without the extra accessory. I was very patient and I was there for 2 hours. Gave all of my information, signed every document and left with nothing due to their mistake. I'm so unimpressed with the gun counter it's actually kinda funny to think about... I was there to purchase a pistol. I already knew which one I wanted, and the guy behind the counter simply had to ask "how can I help you"... instead I was there for 30+ minutes without being so much as acknowledged. Finally some old voiceless hillbilly behind the counter asked my girlfriend if he could help. I said yes, and before I could say "I want to buy that" the guy said "do you have a ticket?" There was literally 2 people at the counter, and I was standing there forever. He'd have to be so blind to miss how long I was there that he'd be completely incapable of walking across a room. There was another guy that had a ticket who even said " they were here way before me" but he wouldn't budge and decided to help the other guy instead. I don't want to assume it was racial, but its hard to assume it wasn't after the way the guy treated me and my girlfriend (one white, one black). We laughed at him and walked out... their crap is overpriced anyways. I was willing to pay it since I was already standing there. I'll never step foot into this place again thanks to the old guy with a white goatee and a tracheotomy for a voice behind the counter! read more

First, I would give a 0 star if possible. I purchased the youth accubow (teal) for my 7 year old son. This was his big Christmas present as well as part of his Christmas eve birthday gift. We were very excited until we opened the gift. The bow was scuffed up and had broken parts. It was not in any condition to be given as a gift to anyone. I did call customer service following Christmas and sent pictures to the representative in a very long process ultimately to have an exchange approved. I was told to return the product to the store or a box would be shipped to me to return it. I opted to go to the store about 1 hour away from my home so I could get it sooner than the 3 weeks estimated to get a new one delivered to me. Unfortunately, life happened and medical events occurred limiting my ability to get to the store. I called the customer service line to let them know i just couldnt make it and would love to go the shipping method to exchange it. I did call about 5.5 weeks later. I understand this is a bit of time but not extreme at all. I was told i was 2 weeks to late and i could not exchange and im stuck with this broken bow. Now my complaint isnt that I was told no due to a time limit. My complaint is that not a single person i spoke with said their was a time limit. My exchange was approved and I was told to return it when I had the opportunity. It is BAD business to not inform customers of time limits following an approved exchange. I am an avid hunter and fisher. I would have purchased other products from Sportsman's warehouse but after receiving this horrible product followed by a lack of communication on their end, resulting in the inability to exchange this bow, I will never contact this company to make another purchase ever again. By the way the box this bow came in was so mangled im shocked it had any good components to it. Good luck to those who shop here. I called about a specific rifle. Got there about 1 hour after I called. When I got there, a guy had the rifle I had come in for in his hands looking at it. I waited. He handed it back to the guy behind the display case. The sales guy locked it up and asked if he could help me. I asked to see the rifle he just put away. The second he handed it to me, the previous customer said "I'll buy it". The sales guy asked for me to hand it back to him so he could sell it. I had cash in my pocket to buy it. If you're buying a fishing pole make sure you absolutely know you want it because if you spool it up and cast it out to try it and don't like it, too bad. You're apparently stuck with it. This place is super cool. The facility is nicely organized and easy to navigate. They had a great selection of rifles and hand guns, scopes and binoculars, bows and knives, and anything else you may need while you're in the field. It's nice to have them in the area since Gander Mountain is such a hike. I didn't get a chance to price compare but I'll be back to look further. read more

I used to love this place but not anymore, went to spend a gift card and get a couple AR magazines and they don't sell any AR parts but they sell a double barrel semi automatic shotgun that holds 16 rounds? I grabbed a bucket of ammo from a shelf that said $74.99 and went to check out they said $120 at the counter, I went back to ask the guy in the guns and he just moved the tag and said they were marked wrong not even a sorry. I'm glad there are other local sporting goods stores to choose next time. read more
