I always complained that there's really nowhere hyper local to get ski attire whether for actual skiing or after ski. I found just the place during Lakewood Chocolate Walk - Geiger's! AMBIANCE: Standalone store in downtown Lakewood that's apparently been part of the community since 1932 (wow!) For being such a longstanding retail space it's surprisingly modern. It really reminds me of Eddie Bauer's. The store has multiple rooms of outdoor attire. MERCHANDISE: Most of the attire (predominantly women's and children's) looks like chic athletic-ish attire to wear around Lakewood. Faux fur vests are especially soft and high quality. There is an entire room of skiing gear - skis, ski goggles, and sweaters with ski landscapes. There's also a pretty expansive selection of children's attire. You'll find popular brands like Patagonia and Yeti, and also less known brands. Prices are mostly what you'd expect at a high-end department store. SERVICE: The service at the store wasn't too attentive. Employees were a bit awkward with client interactions. Perhaps because it was busy. Check out this store if you are looking for winter attire like coats, chunky sweaters, gloves, and hats. There are plenty of choices here. I'll come back when I have more time to browse the coat inventory.

I was there to purchase a highly priced and quality shoe and left with nothing and feeling discouraged.

When I asked the cashier behind the counter she first said "we don't carry that" I pulled up the webpage and showed her that it says you do. She said "I guess I can check to see if we do" and WOW sure enough they do! She then says "oh wow it says we do...but it was shipped to us in February" I stared at her and she stared back at me because I have no clue what that sentence means. I asked "so are you going to point me in the right direction?" And she goes "oh it's in our backroom." And again stares at me without saying anything else. I say "ma'am I'm not an employee I can't go into your back room- can you get it for me then?" She says "uh hang on" then calls over another cashier who looks around the front of the store for a second and says "yeah they're not up here" I then begin to question if I'm in the twilight zone and state "she says you have them in stock but their in your backroom. I would like to purchase one can someone go and get me a can of pepper spray?" The cashier repeats that theyre not upfront- to which I finally break and stare "it appears that I'm being an inconvenience to you all by asking you to do your job while you're at your job. Clearly no one wants to help or sell this product to me so I will take my business elsewhere" I can't recommend going to another location. I get that the product I'm looking for isn't a regularly sold item at Dicks but for Christ sake; if it's available why is no one trying to sell a customer their product? And it made me look like the asshole- which makes me not only never want to come back here but to write a review on how awful the place is to convince more customers to not come here. I get that your store is named Dicks, but that doesn't mean you have to act like one to your customers...
