We just spent two nights here in the Columbine Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and comfortable with a large deck and a kitchen. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is in a great location very close to the beautiful Kaweah River. The Gateway Restaurant is across the street from the cabins and it serves delicious food with wonderful views of the river. i highly recommend the Buckeye.

Happy Valentine's weekend!

This is the closest you can stay if you are going to visit Sequoia National Park. They have cabins and rooms with various party sizes and have views to the Kaweah River. Cabins have a kitchen and the rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. Since I booked very last minute I got room 10, two queen beds good for four people. The room and parking is in front of highway 198. When I booked the room, there was a hold and a day prior to my arrival I received a call from them and they charged my credit card. Due to Covid, they have contactless check-in. The room keys were outside the office and my name was on there with an envelope. While I understand there is Covid, this could be unsafe as well as anyone could take a key. They also do not provide housekeeping during your stay. Now, room 10. As I mentioned it is two queen beds with comfortable bedding. There is a heating/air conditioning unit, perfect for anytime of the year you visit. There are extra blankets in the closet if needed. It was so cute, they provided a small snack basket with fruit, some juices, and sweets for Valentine's Day. The room has some whole coffee beans (something you don't see in hotels) and tea. Anything to get you through the morning. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend staying here.

We arrived this afternoon and are sitting on our patio watching the river. Room is small but spotless. Coffee beans and grinder provided. Dog friendly. WiFi. We love it already. Friendly staff. Helped shlep out stuff.

This is the door to the bathroom. My backpack is 14" across. Will you fit through this door?

Dreadful, dilapidated, posted photos are misleading. IMO this place is a tear down old motel on a prime piece of real estate. The location is wonderful. Closest spot to the park, river view, hoot owls at night. Tiny dump decorated by garage sale and $200.00 a night. How big are you? I'm tall and slender. I placed my small Costco backpack in front of the 20" wide bathroom door. Open the door, squeeze in around tiny door and try to get to toilet tucked in the corner. If you're a BIG person?? I can't imagine you'd fit. The Comfort Inn is a far better choice.

What a cute place with a great location! Just by the park and next to a river (which I cooled off in after the parks) and pools. Nice ppl, great COVID safety, staff consistently wear masks. My SO and I have been stuck at home not only because of COVID but also because we are caring for my Dad who is a 90 year old cancer patient going through immunotherapy. Of course just as we were leaving, we heard about the booster shot for him. So while trying to relax I was calling his doctor, touching bases with my sister in another county to see if they could take him (the process was different there), so I thought I'll print the self attestation and take him right when I picked him up on my way back. I thought, let me see if I can print it here at the Buckeye...front desk was soooo accommodating, friendly and printed it and brought it to my room. This helped me so much!! This endeared me to this place even more!! The room was spacious, nice cork floor. Wonderful air conditioning, a place to eat. Fridge, microwave, and you guys: coffee pot, coffee beans and a grinder! It is eco friendly and in this drought I love that. The only thing I would say is if you are fairly fluffy (we are trying to work on it) ask for the pool towels as they are larger. (Super nice they provide them because it was helpful fir the pool too!) And be aware there are only stairs if you can't do stairs for whatever reason stick to the first floor.

Contactless check in and out!!!! Very creative! :)

The place is very nice and peaceful!! You can hear the river 24/7. Just dont forget to bring deep woods off spray cause of course there's a lot of insects hehehe but thats the thrill and adventure right?? All in all the rooms are clean. The bathroom is clean. And the kitchen?!?! Oh my! My! My! Clean! They even have dish washing liquid, sponge, pans, utensils, plates, coffee grinder, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, electric fan, walk in closet.. what else... hair dryer!! They have dvds and books to borrow too!! Too bad Sequoia park was closed when we visited cause of the snow storm. So we stayed in the cabin for 3 days and 2 nights and it was worth it!!! Very homey!! We are usually very picky when it comes to staycations but this one's very cozy and even at night, you wont get scared. DONT FORGET TO LOOK AT THE PICS YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED :)

Beautiful place

My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of October and had an amazing time! We visited sequoia but honestly we enjoyed our stay at buckeye lodge more than sequoia. Amazingly relaxing, beautiful view, clean room, coffee machine in room, dvds and games available. You can even hear the river from the room its beautiful. Seconds away from sequoia national park entrance. We highly recommend going during October, the weather was perfect.

Across the street. The rushing water. So incredible and beautiful. The price is right. Lush accommodations. For a cabin.

Ask the Community - Buckeye Tree Lodge & Cabins

Do you have ev charging station?

Is the seqouia forest cabin stand alone or mostly a hotel room connected to the same airways as other rooms?

It is the first floor of a large stand along cabin. Regardless, all cabins and lodge rooms have their own air supply and none are shared.

Does each room have a private restroom or is it communal showers?

Each room has a nice shower and a toilet.

It was the best part of my trip. -Comfortable beds, clean sheets, fresh towels. -It had all the listed amenities. -Reasonable rates especially compared to everyone else in the area. -I recommend this place for family or romantic getaway. I would DEFINITELY book here again because I'm simply in love with the beautiful forest surroundings.

Room rate: $185/night…read more Positives The office staff seemed friendly. Overall, the grounds were nice. The proximity to Lake Kaweah was an added plus. The outward appearance of the motel seemed pleasant. It is also a great location to access Sequoia NP. That said, there were numerous issues. We were assigned to unit #1 (closest to the office), which I DO NOT recommend for the following reasons: 1) Initially, the hot water in the room was lukewarm at best. We asked them to adjust it which they did. It went from low lukewarm to medium lukewarm. Barely warm enough to take showers. Ironically the room instructions say guests are supposed to wash dishes before check out or be charged a fee. How clean can the dishes get with lukewarm water? Should the health and well-being of subsequent guests rely on how well previous guests wash dishes with lukewarm water? We're paying almost $200/night and have to wash dishes? 2) There is a charge for ice. Never came across this before, ever. See photo of guest instructions. We're paying almost $200/night and have to pay extra for ice? 3) Cabin/unit 1 is closest to a pen where they keep sheep and goats on site. The view of the lake is obscured by 1) the sheep pen, 2) a large bush 3) two large trees and 4) a window half covered with water spots (made even worse in the morning with glare from the morning sun. The trees provided shade, the bush didn't. Other cabins had the benefit of bushes that were trimmed for better visibility. Not sure why we got this cabin when others were available when we checked in. Several other parties checked in on Saturday (the day after we did) so other cabins were available at the time we checked in. 4) No TV remote in the bedroom. Had to download a remote app to control volume and on/off. TV instructions (in the living room) as written, did not work. The TV went dark without notice and didn't respond to the remote control. It responded to turning it off and back on - sometimes. There were other times that only way to get the TV to respond was by unplugging it, wait a minute or two and plugging it back in. These were daily issues. Multiply that by the number of days you're there and annoying doesn't begin to describe the frustration. While watching the NBA finals, the TV shutoff with 6:00 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Wasn't able to get it to turn on again. Seriously? Note the photo of cables and extension cords hanging from the TV. Not a very neat appearance and could be a safety hazard. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring TV issues? 5) When the toilet clogged and I reported it to the front desk, I was handed a plunger and a plastic bag to put it in afterwards. Seriously? Never cleared a toilet in a hotel before. Usually, maintenance handles that. We're paying almost $200/night and have to unclog the toilet? 6) On Saturday 6/14, we notified the office of water on the floor under the frig. On Sunday 6/15, we were in Sequoia NP all day, so the unit was available for someone to look at the frig. We arrived back at the room around 4:00 p.m. Water was still on the floor under the frig. Water was in the grout lines all over the floor. Same thing happened on 6/17. We were in Kings Canyon all day. When we got back the grout lines around the frig were wet again (see photos). If anyone looked at the frig there was no communication letting us know. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring leaks under the frig? 7) There is an envelope in the room so that you can leave housekeeping a tip. If you're simply doing your job, that's not worthy of a tip. Given the cob webs and water spots on the windows they are not doing their job. Note - all units are single story making the windows reachable to be cleaned. Not sure why they don't clean the window during their housekeeping rounds or in between guests. 8) One window in the living room with an a/c unit had a cluster of dead insects and spider webs on the outside surface (see photo). Not the most appealing thing to look at. We're paying almost $200/night to look at dead insects and spider webs? 9) On a Monday morning 6/16 (our third morning) my wife showed me photos of roaches in both the bathroom and the kitchen. See photos. Given the lack of response to the leaking frig, I opted to get a can of bug spray from the front office and spray the kitchen and bathroom myself. I wasn't about to live with this nastiness one minute longer than necessary. Photos also show the dead ones the following morning. No urgency from the front desk when I asked for bug spray. They made a note for the Terminex man. No immediate action was taken. Almost $200/night to deal with roaches? I do not recommend this place.

The "jacuzzi" is more of a bubbly hot tub, which was relaxing after a hike in the nearby forest. The tub in our room had a nicely sloped back, making it easy to recline for a long soak. Breakfast buffet is adequate with the usuals: scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, fruit, and juice. I'm not picky about coffee, but I walked next door for a better cup of joe. Rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a budget hotel -- not glamorous, but clean, with a comfortable bed and a newer TV. Standard channels only; I didn't see options for streaming from a laptop (no obvious HDMI/streaming hookups). Customer service earns an A+. Our first room had only warm water (not hot enough for a proper post-hike soak). Maintenance came up promptly and agreed, and the front desk offered us a different room immediately. We moved and enjoyed a hot soak and shower right away. Not a romantic getaway spot, but a dependable, affordable choice if you're traveling with kids or want a clean, comfortable place to stay

Convenient for National Parks, but poor value for the money…read more While this hotel has a convenient location near Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, they use this proximity to justify high prices that the actual experience doesn't support. The property suffers from poor maintenance. My sleep quality was deeply impacted by a remarkably loud A/C unit and an annoying motion sensor that flooded the room with bright light at night. Add in a leaking shower, a low-flow faucet, and a subpar breakfast, and it's simply a poor value.

Maybe because I had my beautiful daughters with me and they took all the great attention. It was 2 weeks after my oldest daughter birthday but somehow our male waiter said I heard it was somebody's birthday and I said yes. My daughter's birthday was not long ago. So they treat her with a belated birthday celebration. It was so nice from him. So, when we got there we ordered our drinks and right after we got the drinks we ordered our food. My grandbaby ordered the chicken tenders with fries from the kids menu. My youngest love their burger. My oldest got the filet Mignon with mushrooms and fresh salad. I got my usual the veggie sandwich with fries. The waiter brought us everything but the filet Mignon. It was taking a while to be cooked. So he gravely left offered my daughter complimentary soup to mitigate the wait. And she got it. So when we finished eating the food he arrived with a huge plate with chocolate cake and ice cream and a big birthday torch. It look so nice and delicious. My grand baby ate all his chicken and left some fries. He said he loved the chicken and they were satisfying. My youngest daughter like I mention before. She loves their burger. So she was satisfied too. I so loved the veggie sandwich on a wheat bread. I just love all the fresh veggies they put in there. It had mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. With some mayo. Also the fries were very crispy. I really love it. My oldest mention she loved the soup and the salad. She kind of ate a little bit of the filet Mignon and mushrooms. She took the left over home. She mention the meat was so juicy and well seasoned. It was so tender and tasty. The dessert they brought us for free and the soup. So my youngest, my grand baby and the three of them ate the dessert after we sang happy birthday. I thought it was a very nice gesture of him to do that for my daughter. Highly recommended.
