I have been using Buckhead Dental Center for several years now and have been very happy with the level of care and communication I receive. :) The front office staff is nice, helpful, and easy to reach via phone or email. They have a nice little check-in website to make things convenient instead of needing to fill out paper forms of all my info again like some places still do. I really appreciate that they're very up front about you signing your consent for charges and procedures before they actually start any work on you. I've never been surprised. I'm one who gets anxiety due to a bad experience. I specifically looked at reviews of several places and I decided to come here. I asked for a a dentist who would understand my anxiety and Cait immediately knew Dr. Xu (pronounced shoe) would be a great fit along with Kelli (hygienist). Kelli was so nice, thorough, and very knowledgeable. Been brushing my teeth wrong smh. Dr. Xu was very kind, compassionate, did not try and sell me a treatment I didn't need, and understanding of my fear. She actually told me I didn't need some things my previous dentist (out of network) tried to sell me. She told me only what I needed. I only use non epi anesthesia so wanted to make sure my treatment plan would accommodate. I highly recommend Kelli and Dr. Xu. I will be back next week to start my treatment plan and put my big girl panties on. read more

I am someone who hates going to the dentist. The mere thought of going through the pain of it all is too much! I visited BDC on yesterday to ask about cleaning and whitening. As soon as I walked in Carol at the front desk greeted me with warm-hearted energy that instantly calmed my fears. She answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Got me an appointment the next day and I was seen by Dr. Sing who was very professional and pleasant. His assistant Carter came in to do xrays and again...the energy from her was also amazing. I have now found me a Dentist team that made me want to take better care of my mouth and not be afraid. Thanks to the entire staff for taking care of me. The experience was absolutely AMAZING!! BTW... thoses chairs in the waiting room are BEAUTIFUL and the decor overall looks awesome. However, I'm 6'2 and those chairs are almost on the floor. I really love this dental practice as the office is very modern and clean and their communication (text appointment reminders) is great. The Dentists, hygienists, and staff here are always very friendly and attentive. My only word of caution is to make sure the office is open during the day of the week you schedule your appointment, as this does seem to fluctuate somewhat. For example, I had made my appointment 6 months out on a Wednesday, bit the office was closed on Wednesdays for the month of October. Hello Yelper family. This is my review for Buckhead Dental Center. On yesterday I went to this dentist as a recommendation from my insurance company. Like many Americans I had no insurance and have not been to a dentist in a while. When I obtained insurance I had an unfortunate not so good experience with a dental clinic a month ago, which is how I came to Buckhead Dental. Sorry but I felt it important to elaborate as it ties into my review. Can I just also add I am TERRIFIED of dentists. In fact Im a Jim Beam whole bottle throw back before a dentist visit terrified. I hate going. The appointment call: VERY VERY professional and comforting. Ms. Caroline listened to me ramble before I got to the point of "I am down to 1000 mg of Tylenol every 4 hours." The Office Visit: Located on Peachtree Rd. Parking is free and in a strip mall sort of location. The office itself looked and felt like someones home. It was lovely, calming, jazz music playing. The Staff: i honestly do not have the words. Everyone was so personable. They introduced themselves with a smile and very reassuring. The Doctor: Dr. Smith...... LOVE HIM!! He introduced himself and made me feel calm and assured me I was in good hands. And I was. He and his staff did what they could to help me with pain management and my procedure was handled with sympathy and care. Payment: They listened to my concerns and developed a payment plan that was reasonable which was a HUGE help for me. Overall: Finding a good dentist is like looking for a good mechanic. This is a great dental office, it's very easy to make appointments, generally you can get the next day but always the same week you call. I come here to get my teeth cleaned every six months and I've been coming to this location for almost two years. One thing I really love is there is no wait, you come in and you're in a chair receiving your treatment in the first ten minutes of your appointment time. Parking is easy and free right in front of the office so that's really convenient. It's a nice sized parking lot so you don't have to drive around looking for parking. read more

Patient beware...important to know that I am a very detailed person. Current dentist removed themselves from my insurance plan so I searched for new dentist in our network. Buckhead Dental Center met that criteria. We scheduled new patient appointment. I confirmed that my husband needed his 6 month cleaning. They explained they had to take x-rays which was fine although it was frustrating that they wouldn't accept our current dentist x-rays. So even though he had just had his necessary x-rays they had to take them again. We accepted that and moved forward although our last 2 dentist never had an issue. Well, that should've been the first sign that this group is similar to dentist that are all about the money. Husband checks in. They ask what he hopes to get out of the day. He says " a cleaning and a plan if his bridge falls out." They had told us when scheduling to plan on 2 hours for the first appointment. What they didn't explain is that 2 hours is for them to take x-rays, NOT DO A CLEANING and propose a ton of services. I was livid since I had said he needs a cleaning when I first called to set up a new patient appointment. My husband repeated that he wanted a cleaning upon walking in for the new patient exam. But after an hour and a half, my husband realizes they are still not cleaning his teeth. I called office manager. She tells me that they never do cleaning on initial appointment and we should go to our dentist that has our records. What??? That's why we were set up for new patient to get X-rays and have a cleaning. AND my husband stated upon walking in the office that he was there for a cleaning. Not worth repeating every detail other than to say BEWARE....it's one of those offices that looks for every opportunity to upsell you. Extremely disappointed. Heading back to our wonderful dentist and will have to pay for out of network services. read more

Buckhead Dental was able to see me just a couple of days after making an appointment. Dr. Smith is a no nonsense kind of guy which means he isn't going to recommend any treatment you don't need and is very upfront about pricing. He uses the latest technologies including no-drill fillings for small cavities which I didn't even know was a thing. The rest of the staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. The only con I can see is that their dental hygienist isn't in every day which can make scheduling a bit tricky if you're trying to coordinate a cleaning with another procedure. read more

Stay away from this dental practice. There are so many other dentists in the area, there is no reason for you to experience the kind of pain I went through at the hands of this guy. I'll start by saying I had been seeing these people for two years before my truly nasty experience. So they knew me. There were so many things wrong that happened, but I'll sum up the worst of it - I had a root canal procedure done with no anesthesia effect. The nerve block he gave me didn't work, and I told him. The dental hygienist knew too. I was literally shaking and crying throughout the procedure, and when it was over and I asked if I was going to get a prescription for pain, he gave me a hard time, then only wrote for 5 pills. When I got up out of the chair, my ears were waterlogged with my tears. I cannot emphasize this enough, they did not even feel bad. I didn't know until I went to another dentist how bad this guy is. Just avoid. AVOID this dentist, I'd hate to think of another person going though my terrible experience. read more

Please avoid this place. I went for a root canal a couple months ago, where the Dentist took 5 visits to do it properly. After paying for the root canal and an insurance plan where I get 2 free cleanings a year, I went today to get my free cleaning. However, after going in for my "free" cleaning covered under the offices insurance", the office stated I would need to come back on a different day for a different type of cleaning for over $1700 because my mouth was "unhealthy" and would be against the law to do it for free as was advertised. All false. This was all supposed to be free. After asking the office why they scammed me out of an insurance plan and free cleaning, they stated it was because those free cleanings are only for "healthy mouths". Really disappointing Dr. Smith would run a practice that scams people out of their hard earned money. Will be filing a claim with the Georgia Board of Dentistry and a claim under the Georgia "Fair Business Practices Act" against Buckhead Dental and Dr. Smith. read more

I had a wonderful experience with this dental practice. From the greeting at the door (Caroline), to the entire staff (Gloria, Dr. Smith and Laura Jean) everyone was incredible friendly and professional. I had to have a cap on my very front tooth replaced. I am extremely picky and self conscious of this tooth. Dr. Smith and Gloria took amazing care of me. Dr. Smith was incredibly personable and took the time to consult with me and talk to me every step of the way. He works with an amazing ceramist who created the crown - she is an artist.
