They put thick paper down to protect our existing flooring in the foyer and hallway, taped plastic to openings to other parts of our house to prevent the spread of sawdust, and moved furniture from both rooms. They removed the existing rugs, padding, tackless, and staples; these were boxed and bagged and put out for trash pickup. The sub-flooring was checked for new floor suitability. We verified that the flooring they picked up was the proper one (it was!). They put in screws to eliminate several squeaky areas, cleaned up all rip-out debris, and put down resin (?) paper before starting the install. Each strip of 2-1/4 tongue and groove hardwood was aligned and nailed down. Threshold and 1/4 round moulding was stained to closely match the flooring and properly installed. Scott and his crew removed all their tools, cleared all protective paper and plastic, checked for corrective repairs (touching up, setting and filling nail heads, etc.) to the new flooring, and moved back the furniture. Both rooms were completed the same day. Their work was a quality job, done professionally, and exceeded our expectations. Five stars and each one earned and deserved. (written by my dad, Lou G.)

I was a great customer, accommodating to his schedule, tipping his staff, paying on-time. January 2025: He contacts me to explain how there is a major manufacturer increase in prices and to act now to take advantage of that deal. I was in the process of planning a major renovation for the second and new windows would have been perfect. I paid him a deposit of $6,900. Again, KES has done major work at my house, and I expected him to follow through. Since then, he has done nothing by lie, ghost and ignore me. I have reached out to the manufacturer, and I am pretty sure that they will no longer do business with KES after my complaint. I have submitted a complaint to PA Better Business Bureau. I contacted them and was told that KES moved out of there a few months ago. All my attempts to contact him via mail, either directly or indirectly, have been in vain because the company is no longer there. Please, PLEASE, do not do business with this company or Ron Dawson. He is a thief, plain and simple. Why would he move out of his warehouse and not update his address on his website? Why would he treat a great customer and a veteran this way? KES has $6,900 of my money and I have never received any of the goods or services. I have a signed contract and will take the necessary steps to enforce the contract or have the deposit refunded. I will continue to update this review as my situation progresses.

We gave a deposit of 10,000 on 2/21/2022. $5,000 of which was for a roof deck project which…read moreincluded railings, a new door cut into the wall. $5,000 was a deposit on painting the exterior, stucco and wiring the chimneys, putting exterior lights up that we purchased including building new wood backplates, putting up shutters, and painting our porch. Paid an additional $6,000 when the porch was painted, lights up, and exterior painted. Paid for shutters because they were still on backorder. Less than a year later, the porch is peeling up. The chimneys were supposed to be wired and stuccoed, they were just stuccoed. They cut a hole in the wall where the roof deck door was to be installed and left it filled with large gap sealer. We also have had water coming into the attic for months since the roof and chimneys were installed and the contractor has failed to inspect it, with his offered "lifetime guarantee". We would have had a chimney service install a cap if it was verified that was the cause many months ago and now have significant damage to our plaster ceiling that we will need to get repaired. The door has allegedly been on backorder since we put the deposit down on 2/21/22. At this point, we asked for our deposit back, as the work was questionable and contractor refused to get permits without additional cost to us, and it should not have taken this long. We could not wait any longer with $5,000 tied up for well over a year on a door that's been on back order for 14 months. We offered to pay for the door at cost, with proof of receipt and order number that we could verify with the door company. The contractor refused. Contractor is still refusing to return the deposit for the roof deck. We would like the shutters we paid for hung, the porch sanded and repainted (was never sanded), plaster in attic repaired and our money back from the deposit. We have contacted the District Attorney, BBB, and local court. The DA and BBB were unable to contact company. The local court when to serve at business address and found it to be an unmanaged garage.

Hired Pristine Exteriors to do 15 house windows, its frame (the entire window) and got an estimate from Jay Hughes. Reasonable. He spent about five hours and did an outstanding job. He got his work ethic from his time in the Marine Corps and those core values by the grandparents that raised him. I can't say enough and am completing every review this baby boomer can figure out.

I have to start this review by stating I normally only write positive reviews for deserving people…read moreand businesses and would not normally leave a poor review which could adversely affect a business which potentially was simply having an off day. This is not the case with Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors. This needs to be shared in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake. I hired Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors in April 2024 to address a leaking roof and water damage on the front of my house. Work began in May and continued for months. Although the work itself was sloppy on the finishes- "Pristine" is an incredible misnomer!- and Jeff often did not respond to calls or show up when he said he would, for the most part, the work was being completed and the leaks had stopped. This began to change when the invoices were mostly paid. When that happened, calls/texts were left unanswered and days on-site became few and far between. What's more troubling is the issue with the windows. I was told I needed new windows, at a cost of over $7,000 for both the windows and installation. Initially, I was informed that the windows would take 10 weeks to arrive, which seemed odd but not concerning at the time. After the wait,I was told the windows had arrived in the wrong color and could not be painted without voiding the warranty. Then, the story changed again: I was told the windows were never actually ordered, and that an employee of Jeff's had left town with the money. The inconsistencies in these stories grew more unbelievable over time. Furthermore, it turns out that the windows were never even necessary, and Jeff now admits he owes me a refund for this, which I'm sure I'll never see. We were left without repayment, an unfinished front of house, and unfinished roof ledge and owed money for the windows which never arrived. I have similarly left feedback with the Better Business Bureau and will pursue small claims court to recover my losses. Please stay far away from Jeff Kunkle, Pristine Home Exteriors or whatever business is subsequently spun up when this one is bankrupted.
