Kathy offers a frequent groomer card, four visits gets your pup a free spa treatment such as teeth brushing. She was pleasant to deal with and I liked the home atmosphere of her business. I would recommend Barks County Dogs to anyone :)

The other day I took all three of my Cavaliers to her and she refused to groom my senior Cavalier. Of course she only spoke to my husband because she knows that she would get a crap load of questions from me. The last two times I took my dogs there and got them have my notice that the insides of their ears had not been trimmed and the ears were not cleaned then I noticed that they were not bathed. If you smell the bottom of your dog's paws and they smell like Fritos, that means your dogs paws did not get any clean water on them. So the last two times that I took my dogs there my husband said you DO shampoo the dogs correct and she said yes and again we got them back and they were not shampood. I would absolutely not recommend this groomer to anybody and right now I'm so angry that I'm thinking about calling the Better Business Bureau. I also noticed that her Facebook account is not active. Maybe that was because I left a horrible review. I am not even kidding when I tell you do not take your dog there.

She did SUCH a good job. I can see why there's a waitlist. It was so worth it, I regret not doing it sooner. I'm already writing this review before our second dog, Sunshine's, groom is done. I don't typically leave reviews, but this company really burned me, and so I felt compelled to warn others. We hired Saving Grace to come groom our 6 lb shitzu. Before hiring the company, we informed them that our dog recently suffered from a back injury, and that the vet advised that she shouldn't be placed in a grooming loop as a result. Also, we informed them that she does have a heart murmur. They assured us that they could accommodate the situation. This turned out to be a lie. Once the groomer arrived (Ember), she attempted to groom the dog but clearly lacked the experience or ability to do so, as she decided to QUIT halfway through. I'm not joking, she left the dog half groomed, and the fur was still so long on my dog's face that she could not see (see the picture). Ember said that our dog was "not a good candidate for mobile grooming" and that she was on a tight schedule, so apparently she couldn't waste the time to help the dog calm down a little first before finishing the job. When I called to see what could be done about the situation, the owner (Grace/Grey) was defensive and aggressive. She informed me that, per the form that was signed, the groomer did not have to finish the job if she feared injuring the dog and that we were still responsible for payment. I acknowledged that I understood and appreciated them being precautious and not aggravating my dog's injury, but simply leaving the dog looking the way she did was not acceptable. I asked for them to either (1) come back and at least assist in trimming up the dogs face so that she can see, or (2) otherwise issue a refund, and was denied both. The cost was $92, plus the tip that my wife mistakenly paid, simply because she had a screaming newborn to deal with and felt pressured to do so. The owner LIED to me on the phone and said we were only charged the base wash rate of $80. I told her that I intended to leave a review and she encouraged me to do so. So be careful what you wish for. After the company refused to address the situation to help us, I was forced to trim my dog's facial hair myself, just so that she could see. Despite having no dog grooming experience whatsoever, I was able to do so with relative ease - which just goes to show that had Ember actually made an effort and taken the time to do her job properly, she could have trimmed the dog's face. OR, had the owner cared about her customers, she could have made the bare minimum effort to send someone back to assist us that knew what they were doing. The bottom line is that this company sold us a FALSE bill of goods. The entire point of hiring a mobile groomer was to get someone to come to our house that could keep our dog relatively calm, and groom the dog, while avoiding aggravating her back injury. Dogs getting nervous during grooming is something that any competent groomer should be able to handle. Especially if the dog is only 6 lbs. Their motto is "convenient, stress free, mobile grooming." But all of those things are just buzz words - nothing could be further from the truth. Their motto should be "inexperienced, amateur, aggressive groomers." The bottom line: They held themselves out as expert groomers, but were unable to do something as simple as trim the dogs facial fur with some scissors before leaving us high and dry and refusing to address the situation. They left the dog looking terrible, and didn't care whatsoever. Avoid these con artists at all costs.
