It's the best daycare in Tribeca, and we joined after leaving another which was just fine but not great. Our older daughter started at Trinity/Vivvi in 2018 and now our younger daughter is there in the infants class. The teachers and administrators are the most considerate and thoughtful, and the facility is laid out for a child-led, montessori type experience. The best thing about Vivvi/Trinity is that there's a healthy balance between focusing on the needs of working parents and centering a rich, engaging experience for the kids. For your child, you want a clear lesson plan with good structure and lots of play, and as a parent, you want flexible hours and good communication. Other daycares in the neighborhood have more one or the other, but here you get both. This isn't to say that there are little hiccups; there are little things everywhere. But our teachers run their own classrooms and have things like the health insurance that are not common in other early child education. You can feel the difference. Our one-year-old has been enrolled since late-2020 and in just a short amount of time, we've seen so much growth that we directly attribute to her days at KA! From increased language and physical skills to the importance they place on teaching patience, sharing, and independence, our little one is thriving. Paige, Cristal, and now Anissa make such a meaningful effort to reinforce values that will help our kiddo develop, both emotionally and mentally. They've also helped us with several big growth milestones and transitions. The teamwork and communication is really helpful. Beyond the educational benefits, KA is unfussy and grounded -- sometimes a rare find in lower Manhattan. Everyone we've met is empathetic and supportive without coddling; there is structure without rigidity. We were immediately attracted to their leveled, non-reactive approach to big emotions. There are also toys, dolls, and books that represent everyone! And, probably most importantly for a bunch of babies and toddlers, they make the days FUN. Fun art projects, music and dancing, gym and outdoor time, water play, books galore -- June is WIPED at the end of the day and sleeps like a rock at home. We couldn't be happier! Unfortunately we moved away from Manhattan recently and so had to move on. He has been asking to come back all the time for Ms Julia and others. The place is well run. It is priced very competitively. You are also kept up to date on any plans, policies, changes etc. The place is clean (back when you could go inside it), they keep individual items well segregated as well. They have an awesome gym room for the kids to play around in. During my kid's time here he learned to talk, learned his abcs, numbers, saying sentences, was potty trained, and well socialized with lots of other kids. Our profile. We are a working couple so needed something that is flexible, well located, and low drama where we could get excellent care. Kiddie @ Tribeca fit those needs well. For six days, it was quoted $954. I need to send my kids and pay that because I am a Contractor hourly worker. September 1st, they called us even before lunch and said they have covid + case we need to pick up our twins. And the same day was my twins' birthday. We prepare goodie bags, cake etc. I understand they couldn't cut the cake because of the emergency, but they gave all the goodie bags away, not even singing the happy birthday song to my twins. Nobody thanked them for goodie bags; as you can imagine, the kids were very upset. They were asking me, "why everyone's birthday cake cut but not ours." Going back to the remaining days, they told us the school had to shut down for 14 days. I just paid six days for nothing. I basically paid $954 for half-day because they refused to refund me. I understand the circumstances if we are their ongoing family, of course, I can't ask that for an emergency days' refund. But I only made payment for the 14 days shut down period. It's beyond unfair to pay $954 for a half-day. I paid for the service I didn't receive. The worst part is I only paid that money to be able to work for my hourly job. I spent almost my week's work and was not able to work for the time being. The school gave us a discount eight months ago, and with not refunding my payment for the last six days they found a way to get back that discount. Not to response: I don't think the department of Health dictates you not to refund people. It's in your hands to refund, and you think it's fair to get paid for half day of service, that shows until when you care about your families. I would love to support a small business, but your business does not care about my situation at all as person who lost full time job because of Covid. We should be on the same boat on this understand each other. Sadly that wasn't the case.

The school has been wonderful! It is small so you really get to know everyone there and it is obvious they all care so much about the children. They focus on learning through play and also have additional enrichments like guest readers, a dentist that visits to talk about oral health, fire station trip, etc. My son is learning to write upper and lower case letters and numbers this year and is doing so well! They have a lovely outdoor playground and an indoor gym so the kids can run and play even in inclement weather. They really make learning fun and engaging for the kids and my son is so happy and excited to go to school each day. My 6 month year old received above and beyond attention and care from Ms. Jo-ann, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Karina, and Ms. Esther. When he left they created a book to remember TLE by--and weeks later when we would say Ms. Esthers name he would smile and make noises! All the teachers knew both my boys personally and would communicate daily about their milestones. The admin team at the time of Ms. Erica and Mr. Richard were also phenomenal. They communicated effectively, and despite running a school with so many young people, knew my boys well! TLE felt like a home away from home. We had traveled to the daycare/3K site and only left to be closer to home and have less of a commute. Once my son and I got to the school, the teacher came out and told me to leave. And she insisted "an email is sent one day early to cancel all the back-up daycare as some teacher are out due to COVID". Actually, a confirmation email rather than cancellation is sent to me. And the confirmed booking is still in the system, which prevent me from booking another last minute backup for these two days. Then I and my company got charged for the "cancelled" daycare. In addition, when i was in the day care, obviously all the early-dropped kids are crying and the school is short of staff, probably from COVID. My son was in another MetroKids school for two years, but the experience with this Star A Kidz is a nightmare.
