Let me save you the hassle. Do not ever go to this establishment. They have a wonderful outdoor patio, yard, and are family friend.... However if you want your money stolen by dishonest staff and a crooked owner this is the place. I had $100 stolen from my card at this establishment by the staff, was accused by the OWNER of trying to scam him, insulted by the OWNER stating maybe I was drunk and don't remember, was told by the OWNER he had no history of this transaction, had my calls screened by his staff and when put on hold (but not) could hear the staff call me the credit card lady, had to send private information to prove this charge. I had to threaten contacting Visa and the city to get my money back, after finally magically finding the charge he had the gall to ask if I wanted a gift card when I declined he wanted to mail me a check!!!??? This took weeks to resolve. I have never had such a terrible experience with an OWNER in my life or been insulated to this level. This happened months ago and I still am so angry by this situation. Been here twice now. Awesome vibe, great location. Horrible bar tender. Both times we've been the dark haired lady tending bar was no burnout. I recommend going to the end of the bar, Cruz the hawing looking guy was great! Hopefully the bar tender situation will get better and faster. I want to like this place so bad. First timer about a week ago - food was pretty good; service was ok; drinks were good; wasn't WOW'd but I'd probably return. Our table of 15 probably deserved two waiters / waitresses because it took a while to get our drinks so we learned quickly to order 2 at a time. I split a burger & fries and it wasn't too bad. Buck's is awesome! We love buck's! My kids ask me every day to take them to buck's. It's a great family friendly bar/grill. Only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is their menu, it needs more food, preferably entrees. Steak, pasta, cfs, pork chops, BBQ, something other than just bar food. The food they do have is pretty good. *get the fried pickles, they are wonderful! Also their burgers could be the best in hays county. Actually another reason I gave them 4 is cause it's so hot in there when they open the doors, if I wanted to eat in the heat I would go outside. Halfway through my last meal the bartender opened the door and we all broke out in sweats. Not cool. The chicks that work there are really pretty and friendly! Though you might want to double check bills and keep receipts, I got charged 5 times on my credit card last time I went and I only signed 4 checks. $200 check was unaccounted for. I might have been drinking but I never miss a dollar of my money no matter what. I can nitpick about small things I like and don't like, but really it's an awesome place and we will continue to be customers for a long while. It's exactly what kyle/buda needed. Really? Sat night. Amateur and awful karaoke. Talk about creating your own audience. The only people there were the awful singers and their family/friends. I was excited to come here because I've heard good things from friends but wow I would never come back again. 1: The bartenders are clueless. They wouldn't go up to people waiting and rather talk amount themselves then do their job. 2: the bar-back would just stand behind the bar. If you asked them a question they would just stare at you with a blank look. If you're not serving drinks, at least get the attention of the bartender because there is less then 30 people in here. 3: The credit card machine was down. This isn't their fault but they could have at least let their customers know before ordering. Overall the staff was rude with poor customer service. I came to see the Justin Taylor band. The band was awesome and I'm glad I came to see them but sucks that they were also getting poor service. read more

the worst experience ive ever had with credit card transactions !!! they are robbing people out of their money!!!!!

Came for 1st time on Sat around 2-3 pm. It wasn't busy yet when we got there, but def started to get busy when we left. The parking lot is very big. We got service right away when we walked in, but it was pretty dead. Bartender was not the friendliest at first, but she got nicer 2nd round of drinks. We did really like how big the place is, inside and outside. $3.50 pints of Shiner bock and Miller lite, pretty good price. We didn't try any food. Lots of seating outside, very pretty views of the creek and fields. I'm not sure if you are allowed to walk down to the creek, kinda far walk, but its really pretty. Several TVs at the bar. We sat outside at the bar and the bartenders were going inside and outside. I feel it would be better to have 1 bartender dedicated to outside customers and 1 dedicated to inside customers. When we tried to close out, it def took awhile to get service to do that, but it had gotten a little busier. Bartenders seem to be going to tables, then back to the bar. I feel it would be better to have them dedicated to certain areas. Overall, I liked it. I don't like the fast road to get to this bar, people are hauling ass, which make it kinda scary coming and going here. No turning lane when leaving the bar or to turn into the driveway. I feel they should consider getting the speed limit dropped near the bar for safety purposes. read more

I've always passed by and finally decided to stop by. The venue is great and the music is even better. The place overall has a really nice atmosphere. I would love to be a regular here but it wasn't until the bartender Taylor decided to give us horrible service. She was nice and friendly until my girlfriend walked in. Supposedly it's her brothers ex, anyways make a long story short she overcharges her for two drinks ($26), and then refuses to serve her anymore. The best part is that she told her to never come back and to leave. It was pathetic, and the fact that my party also got ignored and blamed for some petty drama was what really made me upset. She even told her other coworkers and in turn they gave us shitty service too. (Why?) We had to get one of the regulars that we were shooting pool with there just to get her a drink. As I've stated before, the place is nice, food smells great, music sounds nice, and there's a lot of space to "social distance", but if the managers there are not able to control the professionalism of their bartenders, then I will continue to keep on passing by. Had the manager of the store yell & accuse me and my friends of trying to get away with not paying the cover charge. It was our first time there & the place was packed. He came up to us at the bar & started yelling saying we needed to go back & pay immediately. I was extremely thrown off by his anger. I asked him to say "please" because there was no reason to treat a person with such anger. He proceeded to say he wouldn't say that because the door guy "chased us" but we "ran off". We WALKED straight to the bar without knowing of a cover charge, we didn't even know about a band playing we just wanted to try a new bar. We paid, which we would have done from the start if there was actually a door guy that ACTUALLY ever approached us. I did not feel like a valued customer there. We stayed because we were not going to let this man run our night, but it's safe to say I will not go back there again. read more

Went to go check it out as we live about 10 minutes away. Thankfully it's close to home. More on that later. It was 8:30 pm and there was no live music which is no prob since we came in to eat a late dinner. As soon as we entered I thought we were in line because there were 5-6 people all gathered just inside the door. Turns out they were all employees just hanging around. I was asked if we were there to hear the band. I replied no. Again, there was no band. Was told that if we were that we'd have to pay $5 cover charge. M'ok. We seated ourselves. Waitress approached and asked what we were drinking. I ordered 2 waters, no ice. She asked if we wanted to start a tab. I told her no, we were just going to eat dinner. She said she needed my credit card. We weren't ordering drinks and hadn't ordered any food yet. Very odd. Drinks came with ice, lemon and lime. I mentioned we ordered with no ice. "Oh, I thought you said no lime", she said as I was squeezing the lime into my ice water. Really. Yelp shows they offer a free appetizer. Very nice and worth an extra star. I select one and am later told it is only good for the queso. It comes in a styrofoam cup and if it isn't eaten in 6-8 minutes it assumes a consistency of dried silicone. Bucks burger had good flavor. The lemon pepper wing tasted like it was tossed in salt. I could only eat 2. Finished eating headed out. On the way home I got that gurgling feeling in my stomach. Barely made it home in time. Bye bye buckburger. We won't be back. read more

We used to hang out here a lot but every time we go the service is terrible. We went a couple weeks ago for the crawfish boil and they said they were only excepting cash at the bar but we could use a credit card for the crawfish tickets at the front. Their ATM was out of cash so we had to leave and go somewhere else. They don't open until 4 even on Friday and Saturdays. A lot of ppl get off at 3 on Fridays so by 4 they've gone to a different bar for happy hour. Also if I want to go sit on a deck on a Saturday and have some beers it's usually before 4 so I'll have to go somewhere else. We went last Saturday at 4 and there was a sign that said closed from 4-6 because of the night concert. Soooooo.... had to leave and go somewhere else. I give up at this point. read more

Fun atmosphere, live music, and a great spot for big groups to enjoy drinks, +dog friendly! BUT.... Warning: Double check your tab before closing out and paying! We arrived for a few drinks. After sitting at a table for 15 minutes we were finally approached by our waitress, we ordered beers and sat waiting another 30 minutes! We noticed our waitress over at the food counter rolling silverware in napkins and then sitting and texting on her cell phone. At this point we assumed she had forgotten our order, so we approached the bar to reorder and found our drinks just sitting there the entire time! When we finally closed out our tab, a DIFFERENT tab was provided to us that included food & cocktails (neither we ordered), we asked for the tab to be corrected and the waitress returned with a new tab that once again had food & cocktails on it! We were told, she had to give us that tab because it had to be closed out in the system (couldn't be voided) and that the food/cocktail charges were adjusted to reflect the same amount we should be paying for our beers...thank you to the manager for finally stepping in. Buck's is AMAZING! So fun. I've been there every weekend since the re-open with several friends and we will continue to go every weekend. We spend hours talking, enjoying the music, the atmosphere, the food and of course the drinks. I think we've tried everything on the menu and man those fried pickles and cheese curds are legit! Oh, and the burger!! You must try the burger! Love the music, our favorite bartender Taylor is a genius with her skills and our server Julia always has a smile on her face! I will continue to enjoy my Friday nights at Buck's as long as I can have Taylor make my cocktails! Looking forward to a great summer with live music and tasty cocktails! Also ... Checked out Buck's this evening while driving from Austin to San Antonio, looking for a non-chain, local spot to watch the NFL playoffs and grab a bit to eat. The interior is a big open space with a long bar, lots of high top tables, and some regular tables in the back. Had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, which is one of the best burgers I have had in Texas. It was a solid 1/2 lb of meat with a tasty bun. The fries and fried pickles were average but with the delicious burger and great service, I rounded up to 5 stars read more

This is one of those places where you will normally find teachers enjoying drinks after a hectic work week. The space is massive. Its not hard to find a spot where you can escape to. Drinks are average price. They have pool tables, food, some arcade bar games and two bars; one outside and one inside. Have not had any of the food but from what I can gather it looks good!! The location is based on a river, which I have yet to explore, but it looks like you can go and explore the river area. It also looks like they even have a disc golf course going on as well but not entirely to sure. Enjoyable place and will continue going. read more
