It never ceases to amaze me in how much difference there is between firearm stores. Some, like those who cater to "sportsmen" or "bass fishermen," have a bunch of clerks who know as much about firearms as I know about Formula One race cars... which isn't very much: I can usually recognize one... not too sure the same can be said for those who work at the firearms counter. Others can write the book on any number of firearm aspects, especially when it comes to customer service. Bucky O'Neill Guns has excellent customer service. They have a small staff that can assist the firearm owner with non-major work on their firearms. They will mount scopes and get you "on paper." They also have an excellent selection of handguns, both pistols and revolvers. Whether new or used, I've never seen a kludgey firearm that passed its prime mechanical state decades ago. They have some really cool stuff. Great to look through while you're awaiting your turn at the register. What impresses me most is the knowledge of those who work there. Talking with Mark or Jim always results in learning more about firearms... they know their stuff. No "Bravo Sierra." Two downsides: they're a small shop. They can order most everything and get it quickly -- and if they can't, you'll know about it: no empty promises. I've been shopping at Bucky O'Neill Guns since the 1970 s. It really took off when Jimmy bought it. He is friendly and enthusiastic, if he doesn't know the answer, he'll research it and find the right answer. Mostly he knows! It is a small shop with a HUGE collection and selection of firearms. Jim and his very capable crew frequently reset the store and you get to discover even more hidden gyms! I have been in and out of the gun business and shopped on two continents and most states. Nothing better than a Prescott AZ gun shop. Ammo supplies or inventory is getting back up after the massive purchasing caused by the gun ammo control threats. They have a great assortment of firearms as well. Though Im not in the market. The staff are excellent knowledgeable and very friendly. I do recommend Buckys. And they have the old Weber grill out front that is probably 30 years old for BBQ up some dogs and burgers. So get on over to a genuine real gun shop. Came in here looking to get cash for a handgun so I could send the money to my mom in CA to get her own in case the situation hits the fan there. Jim gave me an excellent deal on his cash offer. More than he should have, I know. My buddy and I have bought multiple rifles here since we moved to Prescott, and I appreciate Jim taking care of me when I needed it. I went in looking for some help for my 357 pistol rear sight. It took 5 minutes to be acknowledged (The man behind the counter (did not get his name) was visiting with his friends.) When I explained my Problem, he turned around to the counter behind him (I thought to search for the part I was looking for) Fumbled with items, and then returned to visit with his friends. After a few minutes I started searching through the store for the item, but did not find it, I returned to the counter, only to be ignored for another 5 minutes, finely I left the store and will NEVER return to this business. A Gun Shop here on Yelp? Yes, and a darn good one. Except for being a tad light on ammo and holsters, there was just about everything a guy could want under one roof. Friendly and very relaxed staff. Best in the West! Dave and Jim are great guys to do business with: I have been buying guns from them and shipping online guns to them for the past two years. Relaxed and knowledgable, I stop by when I can just to chat and learn more. Sure, we can get better prices elsewhere at times, but is it really worth the hassle for $20-50 bucks you "save"?! My wife and I are new to the area and on a day off decided to visit all the gun stores in Prescott. This store was 2nd on our stop and the reviews on Bucky O'Neil are correct. Store was fairly small but they had a very good selection and the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were mostly looking for reloading supplies and Bucky does not sell them, however Mark took the time to write down all of the stores that did have reloading supplies. The entire staff was so nice I felt like I wanted to buy something from them. We did not purchase anything on this trip but they will have our business in the future. Thank you! read more

My boyfriend and I were on our way back to Commiefornia on 1/2/17 and every gun store we contacted was closed. When I called here they said that they were also closed but that we could go ahead and come in since they were doing inventory. They were both so very helpful and had great products to help us with our builds! Each of them was very knowledgeable and sympathetic to our unfortunate living situation. When it comes to weapons a little bit of common sense will go a long way. Just walking into the store you will notice 1800$ base model colt rifles that sell from factory for 700. Of course if you ask them they will immediately go sideways with the question. They will avoid the topic of price gouging at any cost. To add insult to injury, if your a novice walking into the store, just like I attempted to be today. They will tell you the base model colts are on par with others in the m4 platform, like LWRC, LMT and H&K. This business is built off of selling run of the mill rifles at uber high prices to people who are not knowledgeable. What It boils down to is, if your ignorant on the topic they will take you to the bank. If your knowledgeable they will argue with you like children. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

This is the worst place to purchase a firearm in the tri cities area, they have no idea how to service a customer they acted like high school students at a football game in joking among themselves and in a non-caring condescending manner. Not only are the prices ridiculous they treated my wife and I as complete novices and belittled any choices that we had intended for our purchases little did they know that I being a retired FBI agent and my wife a national certified firearm instructor was very up on what we had entered their store for. Having recently moved here from the DC area we were looking for our to go to place for all our needs our neighbors warned us about this business but we decided to check it out for ourselves needless to say THEY WERE RIGHT IT'S HORRIBLE, IT'S THE PLACE TO AVOID ! We did go to a store across the valley ran by a lovely couple that were as pleasant as could be located two streets set back off of hwy 69 and purchased four handguns, holsters, enough ammo to enjoy several weeks of shooting and all of the gun care and cleaning supplies to go along with it.
